Hurting The Base?
-
I have to think that a certain breed of highly visable and vocal fox news tea party "republican" is really hurting the republican base. They appear to be, well, liberally applying rhetoric that is often construed as crazy, harmful or...let's just say xenophobic. Does this hurt the traditionally conservative and decent base who are now closely linked to what appears to be a radical and dare I say it? Liberal movement.
Also since they are widely portrayed (whether its true or not I won't speculate) as being racist, and homophobic do they hurt all republican candidates who would distance themselves from that, and specifically do they hurt Mitt Romney who is running against a black-ish democratic incumbent? I don't think many middle of the road independents are going to be wooed to the republican side by the antics of tea partiers and of companies like chik-fil-a who essentially had an anti-gay day and tried to pass it off as some family values thing. I personally think a good value to teach children is tolerence instead of hate. You don't have to love homosexuality but its here to stay, regardless of your feelings.
I think Mitt will lose and the very vocal radicals on the far far 'right' will have to shoulder their part of the blame for it. Thoughts from either side?

I think they do hurt the Republican party. The Democrats exploit crazy behavior (like demonstrated on the Political Forum by certain individuals) and make it look like all Republicans are racists, etc. The Tea party is the best thing that ever happened to the Democratic party.

I agree. The democratic party has many a radical extremist but these are largely passed off as 'crazy' while extremists on the right are often passed off as 'crazy republicans'. I know that the republican base is not crazy or extreme by and large but they seem to be more closely associated in the public perception with their crazier elements.

Actually I believe that there are loons on both sides yet most of the mainstream media leans left.
that means the ones on the right will get more coverage and subsequent derision than on the left.
It seems to me that the number 1 concern of the tea party is over spending and over taxing.
Until anyone has the stones to put an end to that we will continue to drift into bankruptcy.
But it's easy to blame the rich and successful and even easier to put off all of the hard choices until its too late.

Yes this is true. But the tea party also comes out in support of anti-gay day at chik-fil-a. It's an interesting choice for a group trying to woo votes to get what I believe to be a longshot candidate elected. Republicans need to become the party of tolerance if they hope to get minority voters over to their side. They should be embracing the log cabin republicans not alienating them further. Any quasi-racist remark or poster against Obama hurts the chances of that happening a little bit more.

well, I think nutjobs are dismissed as inconsequential.
I've been to Tea Parties. There are no jutjobs where I was. Big Tea Parties.
They are Americans - men, women, children supporting American ideals, our country,
and they don't want bigger gov taking more of their money in taxes.
It's a crisis. It's cowardly to diss the Tea Party again, and ignore the occupier filth.
They are the opposite. And obamao wants to honor jane the traitor fonda?
and Obamao said the occupiers are why he ran for office?
What other head of a country loved and honored his brownshirts.
I haven't even seen the Tea Party extremists that are being vaguely referred to here.
Unless it was that one outrageously sick big mouth who was actually
a huge Obamao supporter, and in doing that at this point, a socialist.
I just see desperate, lying, frantic attacks verbally and physically now, coming
from the left, which legitimately represents most of the formerly known as "democratic" parrty,
now known as the neo-fascist socialist party.

See? Constantly calling anybody left centric a fascist socialist Marxist whatever and calling the president obamao makes you look insane. You support the tea party. Ergo the tea party looks insane because you espouse them. You're hurting the republican party every time someone who might be on the fence reads something you write. It's really that simple. There are no occupiers here.
Im not an Obama supporter nor am I a liberal. The liberals that do post here don't attack you because you're a republican, they attack you because of the constant litany of rhetoric. If you toned down the Marxist socialist traitor bullshit they might have more civil conversations with you. No one calls Steve out, or diehard. You are attacked because you're always on the attack.
That's my point. That is how the Tea party is viewed in a nutshell.
-
And vice versa. You just want to tangle with me, and I don't go that way. Makes you sad, eh?
Too bad.
It isn't my rhetoric. It is also Mark Levin's. He's a PHD, you know. Constitution expert. There are many.
Obamao has socialist and communist radicals all over his admin, and his sphere of friends and advisors.
I don't care what you are, or what you think. You don't seem to be able to support your opinions, you just generalize.
Like, Tea Party bad. Hurt Reps. Like Obamao policies, some directly via Holder, and the occupiers you won't talk about,
help the Dems? I didn't single you out, dumbass. You just singled me out. I disagreed with an almightly liberal again.
Yeah, you say you don't support abortion and you are pro gun. Then stop the personal attacks, and just give your opinions.
Back in the day, I never talked like that. I simply argued with those who kept screaming that Bush was a murderer, a war criminal,
a nazi, a danger to Americans' freedoms, that Cheney was satan, Bush was a racist that laughed while black people in New Orleans
suffered, and plotted to have them all die. You wouldn't have said a thing except the old Heck "haha".
I'm not on here to be a fluffy, intimidated, go along with the vicious leftwing, or be quiet guy. You don't like it, get a clue.
I'm not stopping it. And you all can't stop me either. Some in the past tried desperately to bait me, goad me, into really saying bad stuff
so they could pretend to be "outraged and offended". Like, when mz the pussy the pussy went to John and cried, seriously mind you, that he was hurt and offended
by me calling him "mosquitozits". After all the nasty things he said about me? That's pretty funny. But, I heard from John, and I flat out quit,
and left mz the pussy the pussy alone completely. Know what happened? He triumphantly lit into a vile attack on me again and again, and I simply let him know
my truce was over, since he only used to it his advantage. Hence, that is what dishonest posters do. And dishonest libs are, for the most part,
liberal progressives socialists occupier misfits in society, some being traitors to our way of life. Now THOSE far out leftwing nutjobs
have their idol in our WH. And you want to criticize me for talking about socialist? Ever hear of Saul Alinski? He was a hero to Obamao and Hillary.
and plenty of others. Even Jimmy Carter. Go read up on stuff. You have one foot solidly on the democrat/socialist side, with the other foot on the line between.
The stakes are high in this election, and I'm not a national figure. If I was, I'd take the time to find ways to express what's going on far more affectively.
Epic fail, your whining is.
-
I don't want to argue with you. Id much rather have civil conversations with you but you can't go a single paragraph without some reference to fascism, socialism, or Karl Marx. You're literally impossible to engage without the conversation escalating, because you're constantly attacking everyone that has a differing opinion as a communist. Please prove me wrong because you are intelligent, but I won't talk to you unless you cut the crap. I'm tired of fighting with you.
As for you being in some sort of majority, well, we'll see in November, won't we? BTW I did not single you out. You singled yourself out with your response.
-
And I've never ever claimed to be pro gun. You have me confused in your mind with other people. I can't have an intelligent discourse with you if you don't know who you're talking to. mz the pussy the pussy is gone. Heck is gone. Stop talking to them.

I guess I'd need to see anyone who was a member of what you guys Call the tea party who has said much that was outrageous.
It is my contention that anything the left leaning media dislikes is labeled tea party.
Is there an organization?
Is there a leader, officers or members?
Is there a manifesto, if so what does it say?
I think it's just a catch phrase for anyone the dislikes.
A little bit like calling everyone marxist or liberal.

I mean, I've seen billboards that say, "America, Bless God... Paid for by Tea Party of Ohio." So there's some sort of coherent organization there. That being said, all of the conservative friends I have that are actually involved in politics seem to hate what the Tea Party is doing to the GOP. The GOP would definitely be stronger and better if it wasn't trying to appease these God-fearing fringe types all the way on the right. So long as they pander to that type of base, they're going to lose support in any place outside of the Bible Belt.

https://www.teapartypatriots.org/
Not 100% sure if this is the official site..

Always think of it as a bell curve, the majority of people fall in the middle, but all you really hear about from any media source are they people on the extreme edges. The old adage the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
-
Hard to say sad.
I would have guessed it was the party.org.
If in fact there is an actual group and an actual website.
I'm not seeing the hateful, racist, anti semitic or other stuff anywhere.
Nor anything I particularly disagree with....
You?

Well Steve if you read my original post carefully you'd see I was very careful to say they were percieved as extreme not that they were, and that that reputation hurts the republican party as a whole.

And apparently someone has posted a picture of you on evilconservatives.net. you are a musician by trade and its hardly like you aren't seen, but to me it seems egregious and I would personally take that into consideration when allowing "new" posters to start posting here again.

But like I said the perception is 1 made up by the left. so there's not much you can do about it.
Also, for all these new idiots posting, I'm pretty sure it's just bunker and maybe some pals trying to disrupt. I don't seem to have the ability to delete an account or suspend an account just delete individual posts.
The administrators have to do that if it's going to be done unless they change my access.
I don't know what evil conservatives is exactly but they seem only slightly offensive and usually some what clever.
Didn't know I was on it but that sounds like more of the idiots work.
