I thought the same thing. I was looking for LAdy GaGa on the sidelines. WTF?
I didn't see Lady GaGa either (or Madonna or Christina or Britney or Pink). Did anyone see Trent?

Seeing him walking with the aide of a cane would probably send the wrong message.

yeah. he's getting treatment at 7pm in berea. travel with the team? what is it a twenty minute ride?
c'mon man. stand on the sidelines and support the franchise that drafted you 3rd in the draft (you know, the franchise that has cursed your career moving forward).
maybe he was afraid he might get hit.

It was the 4th preseason game, who really cares if he was there or not. A lot of the players that played most of the time probably won't even make the team. I would rather have hime rehabbing and getting in shape for that week 1 game, than him being out there, potentially at risk.

Uhm, on the TV coverage they did show a picture of TR on the sidelines.

Yeah I thought I saw him in the background on an espn highlight. Not 100% sure bc of the wide angle.
It's hard to imagine him not being there.

So i wanderd to the Bleacher Report this afternoon and headlining article was making a case for not starting Trent until week 3. On the basis that Tom Heckert has said it looks like he may well be fit enough to start week 1.
Assuming he is declared fit, is there a case for holding him back unitl week 3? Philly and Cincy were 6th and 7th stopping the run last year, there is no doubt that Trent's first taste of an NFL defense would be a baptism of fire and preseason evidence tells us that our line has not been spectacular at opening running lanes. So that newly flushed knee is going to take some punishment finding a gap. Is it a risk too far?
Having said that, what difference is Hardesty going to make against those defenses? Very little I'd say and despite what Jackson has shown (my preference) the powers that be will probably give the rock to Montario far more than Jackson so should we give Trent the ball to free up the rest of our offense cause I'm sure there won't be too many worried defensive line and LBs worried about Montario.
I say start Trent if he's cleared. What say you?

yeah, we drafted him #3 and traded picks for the guy.
only reason i wouldn't is if the guy doesn't look ready in practice. then it's a recipe for disaster.
-
My biggest concern will be the speed of the game and him just fighting to keep up with it after not playing in anything but practices.
I think he should split his time with Brandon Jackson on week 1 and roll from there. If he shows he's ready and up to game speed right away, you treat it like any other player you want out there.
You've got to imagine he will have a significant impact on the offense and lets face it, we need it!

Bernie Kosar pointed him out on the telecast.

And if he is still injured such that he would put himself in jeopardy or if it were counterproductive...i.e. was prevented from doing what he can do, then he should not play.

Even though people later on this board cleared it up that he was there, do you really think it is up to Trent to decide if he stands on the sideline or not?? Of course not, he does what he is asked to do (and if he doesnt then it becomes a story). NFL teams control their players (when they can) and have them on a strict schedule, if he wasnt on the sideline, he was told to be somewhere else..

Trent was NEVER injured... ever. The "injury" he had surgery on happened BEFORE he "single legedly" won the BCS Championship game. Trent was not being treated for an "injury" this time. All they did was clean up the knee to keep it in tip top preforming shape... Trent is probably better NOW than he has been since the Bowl Game.. Trent will run like a Gazelle and hit like an OX. Philly will be shocked and awed by the level of talent attacking them on the jaw week 1.
169 yards rushing, three TDs on the Ground
92 yards receiving and another TD from the screen pass.

If he is healthy then play him. We will know a soon as they get back to practicing. But from what the new owner said. I'd say he's not going to play
