and it isn't because of Glenn Beck. well, maybe for some.... it's the way

history has ensured over the many centuries.

About three years. I have groundhogs to thwart them.

Actually, I am only talking about civil strife, crime in the streets and graduating out to the suburbs, and the country.

Roaming small bands of Obamao nazi's.

We are not immune to a breakdown financially, and socially.

Which reminds me, I want to go research the Weimar Republic, and the inflation that decimated them.

You can only stock up on so much food that isn't perishable, canned food, MRE's, etc. Fresh food would go quick. And when the people who have nothing and are starving find out you have it, you are a goner. It would be anarchy. Now, if you live in some isolated place in Alaska, Wyoming or Montana, you might make it. But in Ohio, no way. Gangs from Cleveland, Columbus, and other cities would hunt down all farms for food, water, ammunition, etc.

Not paranoid. Just a concern that history repeats itself.

And it can be a repeat of the Weimar Republic here, of sorts.

BTW, my sister has a few horses. She says the cost of one bale of hay...

is now TEN DOLLARS. The usual cost had been 2.50 for grass hay, 5 bucks for pure alfalfa.

Corn way up, soybeans way up. Other grains and hay way up.

It doesn't hurt to just be prepared in case the "worst" happens economically, or otherwise.

Actually, I am with Cal. I have a years worth or freeze dried food for 4 on hand....water purification means....I have a lake about 50 feet away...and the means to protect the stash a pretty good while if need be.

I don't call that paranoid. I call it being a former Boy Scout....Always be Prepared.

The food is good for maybe 25 years if dry, and the ammo is good for longer....WWII issue is still good and being used.
