  • It looks like it has to be done unless we really want to go 0-16. Winning four games is a lot better than winning zero.

Colt comes in when Weeden gets his ass handed to him on Thurs.! Who is our 3rd string QB anyway? Or do we not have one? Seneca Wallace got cut before the season started, correct? I thought he was better than both Weeden and Colt and he sucked too!!

  • Colt blows, Weeden is the future.

Shurmer is 4-15 with whomever he starts at QB and has lost 9 straight games. Haslem may send him out the door with Holmgren the minute he takes control, and I can't say that I would blame him.

    Weeden is the future? Yuck.

  • It depends, does Weeden ever get injured? They made their bed now they need to lie in it. Switching now would be an even bigger mistake than when they just handed the ball to Weeden.

  • Agree on many of these posts.

My biggest concern with Weeden now is how he doesn't seem to ever step up in the pocket. He has to "feel" the pocket caving in after a few seconds, but he doesn't. He looks like a punching bag at times- he needs to get that sense in a hurry. I'm afraid we will see Colt Thursday, because Weeden could get seriously pummeled by the Ratbirds.

  • Very rarely do rookie quarterbacks come in and make the playoffs right away. I was very lucky to see Flacco do that, but that's because we had a good team in place around him. Instead of switching the quarterback until you win, you need to make sure he has a team around him and let him build and improve. My mind is still blown over how you guys would draft a 28 year old who's going to be 30 like a quarter of the way through next year... makes no sense.

go back to your Ratbird tree and fuck off none of us want to hear your fukin opinion whats going to Happen if our Browns decide to show up thursday and Kick the shit out of those fukin Ratbird ravens!!!!!GO BROWNS

  • Thank god we traded the #6 pick in 2011!

I mean without Greg Little,Owen Marisuck and Phil Taylor we would of surely went 0-16 and had to of draft Robert Griffin or Andrew Luck.

With the addition of Phil Taylor we went from #32 against the run to #31 against the run, we are building a Jugernaut. In 30 more years we will have the #1 run defense against the run.

Heckert is a god damn genius, fucking Weeden will be a perennial PRO BOWLER until he retires in five years - Luck and Griffin? I don't see them panning out at all. All the experts agree.

Julio Jones is a bum Greg Little had 61 catches! for the Browns DYNAMIC OFFENSE in 2011 - yes Heckert is pure fucking genius.

I mean Weeden to Little - how can you not love that.

How shitty it would be to have to deal with RG3 or Andrew Luck throwing to Julio Jones, Tom Heckert knows how to build the right way!

    eloquence, brilliance, I'm in tears.

  • Colt is the Answer.

He has a great spark about him, he's a leader that these guys will follow. This is making him better, feeding his fire. He's stacking the hay right now and when he's done cooking these guys won't play for anyone else.

Holy shit this is great. The reality is that Heckert sucks the NFL draft nuts and hates FA. Thus, if he doesn't ace his draft pics, he has no business being the GM of an NFL team. And, well, he is far from acing his picks.

If you go to the clubs and restaurants where he goes, you will see him. I have no idea where he goes but if you go to enough night spotssd you WILL see him.

If you can find out where he goes to church, you may see him there.

Where you are not going see him, is starting a Browns football game. He already got shitcanned. ALso, the Browns offered him for trade and nobody wanted him.

YOu can pull your fork out of him anytime now. He blows.

    Pretty much sums it up...

  • Russell Wilson may not be the greatest QB but just love the way he can extend the play...reminds me a bit of McCoy. R.W. may not be as fast as RG3 or as accurate as brady or have as quick a release as rodgers but he can escape the pocket and wear out the Defensive line...thus allowing the Running back to make a few great plays busting threw a tired line. This is what McCoy is capable of doing at this time...unlike Weeden

Hate to say Holmgren, Heckert and Shurmur determined Colt is not the answer. If they really thought the kid had a prayer they sure as hell wouldn't have wasted a first round pick on Weeden.

So how's beast Richardson looking so far when he has no running lanes PG?

Regarding the Weedster, he'll look a lot better when his WRs actually start catching passes that hit them in the hands. Saw a blurb today that Stonehands Little is on the verge of getting benched if he keeps on dropping passes. About freaking time.

Under what scenario do you see the Browns having gotten Luck or Griffin?

By your initial view you say if the Browns had not made the trade for Taylor et al, then they would have taken Julio Jones.

But then in the next breath you say they would have been so bad with Julio Jones that they would have been in position to receive either the first or second pick in the draft.

So? Which is it? Do you want your cake and shove it too?

Do you think having Julio Jones would have made Colt McCoy even worse? Apparently so.

  • Well that post was basically satire.

My position is with a team depleted of both talent and depth you should place more value in talent.

From your previous posts I'm assuming your position is that you place more value on depth and that you believe the 2011 draft trade would of somewhat hindered our progress but eventually paid off in the long term.

In my opinion planning on long term success without immediate improvement is futile.

As far as taking Jones in 2011 and our 2012 draft position, well there's no way we can know what would've happened.

What I value is talent AND depth. So, for Julio Jones we got Phil Taylor, Greg Little, Brandon Weeden...and I think Marecic. The only problem I see with this trade is that Taylor has been hurt. Last year, he alone played as well at his position as Jones did at his.

Little's play would have not been much behind Jones's....if he would have held on to the goddamn ball!! Marecic looks like a throw in that may eventually get thrown out.

Then there is BW3. It is way, way too early to judge him. It really is.

  • Phil Taylor was disappointing as hell last season. When he was healthy he took off plays and didn't push any lines backward for our DE's to make backfield tackles.

It's not too early to 'judge' Weeden, it may be too early for a final verdict but I have every right to say so far he doesn't look like a 1st round QB in any way.

  • The sooner we see him, the better
