Rich, 1968 is correct. And so is #8, most points allowed in a season. Canton Bulldogs is not right....and you are a little too far off on the record for me to give you a check.

  • #6 Carroll Rosenbloom. I think he also owned the Rams and when he died his wife Georgia Frontiere inherited the Rams

Here is this week's trivia focusing on the Browns upcoming opponent:

Answers (just curious why the Colt fans didn't want to try Colts trivia):

    1. What is the regular season head to head record between the Browns and Colts?

    Browns lead 14-12

    2. How many times have the Browns and Colts met in the postseason and what were the results?

    Four times:

1964 NFL title game Browns win 27-0

    1968 NFL/NFC title game Colts win 34-0

1971 Division game Colts win 20-3

1987 Division game Browns win 38-21

    3. Name the QB that led the Colts in passing 4 times that also played for the Browns.

Mike Pagel was the Colts QB in 82/83/84/85 before joining Browns to back up Kosar.

    4. The Colts leading rusher in the 1980/81/82 seasons also played for the Browns. Name him.

Curtis Dickey led the Colts in rushing in 1980/81/82. Though I believe he actually played for the Browns in the 1987 Browns/Colt postseason game.

    5. The Colts leading receiver in the 1992/93 seasons also played for the Browns. Name him.

Reggie Langhorne led the Colts in 1992/93 after his time with the Browns.

    6. Who was the original owner of the Baltimore Colts when that franchise started in 1953?

Carrol Rosembloom who traded the Colts franchise even up with Robert Irsay for the Browns franchise. This was all before the shark..or Georgia ate him.

    7. What was the betting line for Super Bowl III. Colts/Jets?

The Colts were favored by 18 points, which may be the biggest line in the history of the Super Bowl. So much for that.

    8. What dubious record did the 1981 Colts set?

Most points allowed in a season: 533. Or about 33.3 points per game.

    9. What fortuitious event occurred in January 1997 that changed the Colts fortunes from being perhaps the biggest losers/laughing stock in the league to ultimately one of its best teams?

Robert Irsay died....turning ownership and control over to his son.

    10. Name the three HCs that have led the Colts to Championships.

Weeb Ewbank in 58 and 59; Don McCafferty in 1970, and Tony Dungy in 2006.

Don Shula coached the Colts to their losses to the Browns in the 1964 NFL title game, and to the loss in SBIII to the Jets, but never won a title with them.

    11. A former Head Coach of the Colts has the same name as a current Browns player. What name?

Joe Thomas went 2-9 as the interim coach of the Colts in 1974. He was a native of Warren, Ohio and went to Ohio Northern Univ. He is still alive today at age 91.

    12. Who is Bernie Kosar's favorite former Colts Head Coach?

That would be Howard Schnellenberger who was Bernie's HC at Miami U when they won the national title together.

    13. Though the Colts franchise officially began in 1953, historians actually trace that teams lineage back to an original 1920 NFL franchise (now otherwise considered defunct). What was that original franchise?

The Dayton Triangles. I will have to post a later blurb on that theory.

Bonus: What is the Colt's mascots name? McCoy...errr, no, sorry. The name if Blue.
