How About A Little Love For Craig Robertson...

The Browns Board
14 12 783
  • Tied for Team lead in tackles and INT's...

Not bad for 2nd year Pro who is still a 2nd teamer on the depth chart...

  • He impresses the hell out of me & he was an undrafted free agent.

Bottom line is that he's a PLAYER. Tackles well, nose for the ball, & seems to do pretty well in coverage. We have some nice looking young LBs & I think he's the best of that young group.

    Mike

  • He is the next Marcus Bernard. Emerges off of the practice squad to become a real force. Except he will be better and have more longevity than Bernard.

  • and another reason heckert should stay on board.

  • Lol i love this guy he makes the most of the opportunities that he gets..

The sooner this club starts using these young guys and getting them up to snuff instead of wasting money and slots on mediocre schmucks that cant consistently hold their own like fujita and gocong the better off the browns will be imho..

Heckert has done a good job of setting the browns up for immediate future success regardless of rather haslam/banner lets him stay or not..

  • Coming into the season, I thought LB, especially OLB, was the weakest position on this team. But after watching D'qwell continue to play well and seeing guys like Robertson, Fort, Maiava, and even JMJ contribute in a positive way, I am convinced that this unit can become one of our best. DQ will need a more solid backup in the future, but at OLB we seem pretty set for the future, as long as these guys, especially Robertson, continue to get better.

But I hear ya, a little love sent out for the man thus far...

  • We're really not 'set' at OLB. None of these guys are game changers, they're all really solid but you don't win by being solid. We need a great talent at OLB to really round this group out.

Robertson had a red zone pick against the Ravens. That had better fit your criteria for game changing play. The guy already has 2 picks, and with how fast he moves around the field, I wouldn't be surprised to see more.

  • Robertson is very good and I like him a lot. That being said, we need two outside linebackers and will probably go for Jones ot Te'o in the draft.

  • Its just a relief to see some speed to the outside from our Lbs for once. Helps the run defense a ton.

This years d also is generating turnovers much more consistently.

I still think we can use a massive stud at OLB. Maybe a Jarvis Jones or the like.

  • I agree that we can always upgrade that position, especially considering the fact that these guys are so young and unproven, but watching the games without Haden has proven to me that we desperately need another good corner, or even safety to shore up the secondary. I believe that is the bigger need right now.

  • Glad to see the love... Must confess I was shocked to see Craig so high in the D's stats.

That said... I agree we should target an LB in 2013.

It is a shame we really won't know what we have in Acho until 2013.

IMO MLB is the position we have to upgrade. I think DQ belongs outside. He's just not the run stuffer a 4-3 needs.
