First In Nfl To 6 Losses....

The Browns Board

  • I think the most frustrating thing is we ARE progressing but that hasn't turned into wins yet for various reasons.

Think back to last years offence and tell me we have less options than then. Practically every offensive weapon this year is new so how you can say they don't look like they could be 'plus' players is a joke.

  • Do you actually watch the games? Weeden is far from a failure and is progressing very well.

As far.as our other players not being "plus" players, who are you talking about? Because if you say trich, gordon, winn, or something else stupid, I will question the functioning of the left hemisphere of your brain.

If you are frustrated (i am) just say so, but don't post stupid shit.

espn did a breakdown segment(both jaws and dilf) and both had him a clear 5/5 amongst the rookie qbs. Dead last.

I can't read a bill simmons column without a gambling joke about how bad brandon weeden sucks.

He's a laughingstock, or at least that's the perception around the league.

  • Looking at Weeden's stats, he is tied for the league lead in INT's, he is 32nd in passer rating, he is 29 in yds/att, he is 16th in yards/game,and he is 29th in accuracy. He IS 3rd in attempts and 8th in yards .

The int's are his fault for the most part, and the accuracy is also his fault, but the yards/attempt and yards/game are on the playcalling and the scheme. Should a rookie being throwing so much? I'd say no,but you all know Shurmer want's and apparently NEEDS to run the old, antiquated west coast offense. So that's what you get.

I can't wait to get a new head coach

  • Weeden is actually, in my opinion, looked quite decent. All those rankings that have just been spouted off are low due to the first game of the season and also because he has to throw 50 times a game. Its not his fault. Your coach doesnt run the ball... at all. He feels he can just put the offense on Weedens shoulders and let him throw 50 times a game, which is just stupid. You got the #3 pick in the draft and traded picks to get him to boot. But yet you never give him 20 carries a game, and hes lucky to even get 15 carries a game. If you guys have a coach that actually makes this offense balanced, Weeden probably throws 3-4 LESS int's, and Im 100% sure he has a higher completion rating. One of the main reasons RG3 has been so successful this year is because he has a good run game to lean on and it has to keep the defense honest. Thats not Weedens fault, thats coaching. Heres a good example, remember how bad Eli was when he was a rookie? Now can you honestly imagine Coughlin asking Eli to throw 50 times a game back then when he was that terrible? Absolutely not.

That was my point. Our coach is a moron. Weeden would be better in all of those stats, except yardage and attempts if we had a coach that knew what he was doing

I didn't know reading Bill Simmons was considered doing research. I would trust him though. The man picked Miami to get blown out in the finals last year and the Red Sox as postseason hopefuls.

For the record, I haven't found a single Brandon Weeden reference in the last 4 weeks on grantland. All his witty quips have been in reference to the shit Eagles game.

  • My God, with all the things you decide to bitch about you picked the QB? When do you see a browns QB putting up 260 yards 2 tds (should've been three) and zero ints? Never.

shut up and actually watch the game before you spout off stupid shit on the browns board.

  • We lose a game where the QB throws for 264 yards, 2 TDs ... 0 Int 0 fumbles 0 sacks ... and you go after the QB?

And then you defend it by saying that some columnist makes fun of him?

    OK.

You saw Weeds put the ball right on the money for the go-ahead TD that Gordon dropped right?

What the fuck was he supposed to do?

Here's what we know about Weeden: of all the rookie QBs, he plays on the worst team. That was up for debate until yesterday when Murmur coached us to a loss despite the best efforts of many players.

    Zombo

  • The annoying thing about our season so far is seeing the AFC with only 3 winning teams so far, I can see the Wild Card teams being .500 or worse this year, teams are all beating each other this season, very tight indeed. Just wish we were able to have won a couple other games and we would still be in the mix, but dropping to 1-6 think basically all over again for this season.

  • Guys no one wants to lose and wants us to be 1-6 but look out or defense and offense we are not a play off team.

I hope we try to trade, Cribbs, Momass and my boy Colt before the trade deadline

Agreed, that way the Browns will receive a frozen turkey, a 12-pack of beer and some pistachios in return, and that will come in handy for Thanksgiving.

Yeah we won't get much for them but none of them are in our future plans. Why not getting something, right?

I think it is safe to say that nobody on this board, in the past has had more venome and negativity for the modern edition of the Browns. At 1 - 6 in previous seasons I could be found polluting this board with tirades against anyone having anything to do with the Browns.

However, such is not the case in 2012.

I no longer see the Browns in a "re-building" phase, but instead in a building phase.

I had to admire the great block and tackle performance of the Steelers last night, as well as this monster RB Dwyer. Holy shit! But you know, we beat the Bengals too!

As I see it the Browns have added guys who are performing very impressively. Weeden did just as well as Luck and has been doing so all along. Please, get off this horseshit of him being 28. WTF does that have to do with anything? The guy is the leader of the Browns, quit being jackoffs and support the guy. For the love of naked negroes, you guys continue to fellate McCoy and he NEVER played as consistently solid as Weeden.

Here is the problem with the Browns. They have been the worst team in the NFL for some time. Heckert, to me, has shown that he can indeed pick talent. It would bother me if he was fired. Shurmur? Can't really tell. In a nutshell the Browns simple need another draft and for sure a good FA or two to firm up what we can't get in the next draft.

Little will be fine, but we need an AJ GREEN caliber stud to round things out. The OL? Perhaps it is personnel, perhaps it is coaching, attitude or simple timing with the rest of the team. They seem to pass block fine, but they don't seem to pop open the holes that I watched the Steelers doing. Whatever the Browns are not doing with the running game, it needs to be addressed.

Nobody is ripping the D to shreds, and here, too I feel the addition of another LN, Run Stopper and Pass Rusher will deliver a good, solid D.

Sorry, but I don't see this team in the total disarray that it was, say under Romeo. We just need another draft to become competitive.

    Go Browns.

but aren't you a little concerned with how Brandon Weeden looks? He is not very cute..

This has been my problem from day 1. Heckert really fucked this draft up. There were qbs with far dreamier hair in this years draft. /s

Weeden is the least of our problems. Perdiod. We need to run the damn ball for positive yards and put pressure on an opposing qb without blitzing our cb and safeys.

Our pass blocking was stout yesterday and Colts fans at the game (nauseatingly nice fans all around to opposing fans) told me that this was probably the first game all season where they didn't get a sack. However, there were no running lanes and that needs fixed. We need stronger guards that can move bodies.

  • WOW this must be the twilight zone for real because I agree with everything Ghoolie says. I won't even say that Shurmer is the issue as I think he is probably a good coach during the week in preparation because they aren't getting blown out by anyone but the Giants... (Chargers this week has me a little worried though). But I will admit that on gameday he seems to be a gutless wonder for whatever reason. We need a coach that truly understands how to open up the pass game with the run or vice versa. Whichever one he chooses is fine but he can't lean so heavily on the pass like he keeps doing.

Last week was his most balanced called game and guess what, we WON. I think that the players still bailed him out but the point is that he didn't give up on the run like hes seems to always want to do. Ok so TRich wan't getting it done, he made a good decision sitting him even in Trich's own words. But he had Hardesty ripping 4-5 ypc, and STILL gave up on the run. I think Haslam will probably sit him down and have a few words with him about what needs to happen and give him till the end of the season to show that he is actually able to take direction. I believe there is too much that has to happen during this ownership transition for him to drop the coach right now.

I am as frustrated (or lack of which is worse) as everyone else but I believe we have a controlling interest who is interested in making this a profitable business and at least so far is showing that the fans are the means to that end. He knows if we aren't happy he isn't making as much money as he could be. The customer is always right...right?

This is a tough time to watch the Brown's but at the same time, IMO we haven't had a QB or RB or even potential WR of this calibur in a very long time...I have hope for the very near future 🙂

HAHA i wish!! I can deal with a ugly QB as long as the next head coach is hot. We need someone like Sean Petyon looks wise. Even Mike Tomlin is good looking blackman. And the Harbaugh brothers are dreamy! Imagine being the meat in their sandwhich

  • This thread turned gay quicker than most

  • Heckert is a total joke, he is a guy who takes questionable picks in hopes they will pan out so people will say "WOW, that Heckert guy is really smart, he seen it when no one else did".

He has a proven track record of drafting injury prone players who wind up spending more time on the IR than on the god damn field.

For every 5 or 6 "developmental" players he drafts maybe one pans out.

This guy has drafted busts like Hardesty,Marisuck,Ward,Sheard,Lavauo,Cameron... who will never amount to shit.

He has passed on guys like Jimmy Graham,Rob Gronkowski,Aaron Hernandez,Gino Atkins,Navarro Bowman,Daryl Washington,Julio Jones,Aldon Smith,JJ Watt, the list goes on and on.

Heckert took over a team that had absolutely no talent and stripped it down even more to bare minimum and drafted starters for us who would not start on any other team in the NFL.

How you people give him credit for that is beyond me, he is not a good GM.

Heckert has not drafted one all-pro / pro bowler for the Browns and none of his picks(outside maybe Haden which he gets no credit for since it was top10) will ever be all-pro.

The proof is in the pudding.

This team has 3 years of Heckerts draft classes and we are 1-6, still waiting for next year....these guys need time right?

First off Hardesty has been showing major improvement lately, if Shurmer would just run the ball more.

Second of all not every pick is going to be a good one.

Third, can i borrow your crystal ball, I need to play the lotto this week.

Fourth and final, who pissed in YOUR wheaties this morning...? lol
