The Browns Board

Absolutely not. No faith in him or skrine at all. CB is definitely biggest need next to a skilled DE or LB pass rusher

If you had the choice of best cb or best de/lb in this coming draft. Who do you take? I'd take cb. We seem to be able to get pass rush a lot better then we cover wr's

I'd take the best DE, best corners can't cover forever.. if they cut the cover time down even more will make corners a lil better..

I know the Cowboys offensive line isn't filled with all pros but I liked the way the d-line looked so to me we need a difference making linebacker or defensive back. I'll be curious to see how the d-line plays this week against Pittsburgh, if they can get that kind of pressure and stuff the run the way they did in Dallas I'll be more convinced that we the line is just fine. I saw the Cowboys a few weeks back have no trouble running the ball right over Baltimore.

I think u have to take jones or teo if they are there. I just don't think there is a CB that you can take over one of those. U would have to get a third rounder, or trade down a little and try for both in the first two rounds. Ghoolie is nuts on this one. If we draft offense with our first pick I will be pissed

  • Well I will give my two cents on the question posed since so many instead decided to talk about something else entirely.

It is definately to early to guess as to whether he can be legit or not. He is an undrafted FA from Stanford who made the team got a chance and looked good in limited time at the end of the game.

Skrine was drafted in the 5th round and is in his second year. What has he shown us? Well that he can't cover anybody without holding them or interfering with them. And when he doesn't get called generally we see he has commited a foul when they show the replay. He has been terrible and wouldn't be playing for most of the teams in the league.

We may learn Bademosi won't be that good but it would be short sighted of the Browns or people on here to simply say NO and move on! Let's see what he can do. There really is no downside. There are plenty of undrafted guys who end up being good or even great in this league. We may already have one in Cooper and maybe Bademosi can be another.

  • You're right it is slightly short sighted of me to say NO and move on. We should see if he can do something.....for the rest of the season.......because we have no choice. Draft or free agency

  • He's a special teamer that can happen to fill in at corner in an emergency.

If Haden and Patterson are back this week, they will not score one TD on us with Charlie Bitch going against our new look defensive line. I LOVE our d-line with Rubin and Taylor back. This is as excited as I have been for a football game in some time. If I hear Haden and Patterson are playing I will spew.

    Zombo

At last someone finally responded to the actual question. It would be interesting to see if he's inserted in place of Skrine so we can see what he's capable of till the end of the season. We're not going to the playoffs so the least we can do is evaluate our talent.

Our number one need is a true difference maker on D, whether it be d-back,d-line or linebacker.

I agree that cb is probably our weakest position right now but I'm a take the best player available guy as opposed to drafting for need.

As of right now I don't think there's any potential top5 corners, so I think we should take Jones from Georgia.

I agree it needs to be Jones from Georgia. We need playmakers on D.

  • Jones or Te'o only please.

I would take Moore from aTm also

  • I just don't think you can look at a guy for 2 series in a game and say "Hey he didn't really fuck up lets give him more playing time!" They guy had 1 INT in 3 years starting at Stanford. The guy is without a doubt a physical freak and he has more than enough size, but he sure as shit isn't going to be someone we can just plug in this season and use as an actual CB. In emergencies... ok I'm fine with that. As a legit nickle or dime guy... Hell no.

I'm going to step up for Buster here. He has one thing you can't teach- and that's 4.3 speed. It's not that he can't cover opposing WRs- it's how he covers them- & that can be taught.

I agree with this. Way too early to say anything about Bademosi's ability to cover in the NFL. He did look less nervous and more skilled than Skrine in the little bit that I saw.

Speaking of intangibles, you can't teach Skrine to be bigger than 5'9" and 185 pounds either. He is too small which is why a guy that fast went in the fifth round. I am cool with him playing in the nickel and special teams as of right now. Dez Bryant, at 6'2" and 220 pounds just manhandled him. Remember the press coverage he tried to put on Megatron? I think Skrine can contribute meaningfully for the Browns, just not at corner.

Agreed. As many penalties as he had, almost every one of them was just a 5 yard illegal contact. I will take that penalty all day over a spot foul and Pass interference. He knew he wasn't good enough, so he did what he had to do to keep the Browns in the game. He is a fine backup and when used in nickel/dime formations. He just isn't starter material.

Well then who is teaching him? Because after 1.5 years in the league he should know how to cover by now. Either he's getting bad coaching, or he's not a good learner.

Ok.I just pulled up Bademosi's scouting report and his best 40 time was 4.36. I think with that speed, size and his long arms he could be coached into a good NFL cornerback Plus he has a rugby background and look no further than Haloti Ngata to see how that contributes to a successful NFL career. I just don't want the Browns to miss a potential diamond in the rough.
