Weeden....just Pathetic........

but you're viewing this whole conversation with blinders on. it's a logical discussion. people will always second guess and wonder. what's wrong with that? sure it won't change anything but it's a part of human nature. what if? shoulda. coulda.woulda.
i'm sure you've heard of debating. what's so different with this? the 'science' behind this is: did colt get a fair shot (considering that they were going out to get HIM these new weapons on offense)? how would have he done this year given those weapons? that's all. nothing more. nothing less.
if you're that offended by the topic you shouldn't stress yourself by reading it and above all not respond to it.
just kiddin man. not everyone is going to agree with everyone on every topic.

That's all well and good. You show me where anyone has discussed what Colt may have done.
I'm all for constructive criticism and debate, but all this thread has proved to be is a bitching post about how Weeden gets balls batted at the line and how picking him was a dumb pick. Nothing constructive about that.
If we want to place blame on not being able to put this away, let's talk about the ultra conservative draw playcall on 3rd and 31. I'm not saying Weeden is great, I'm just saying Shurmer is worse.

Blah Blah Blah, i'm thinking your Dad should have Pulled Out.
For real, listen to yourself babble about your bullshit. Go back and read your messages, you will realize how dumb you sound.
How can you not want to see another QB run this 2012 Offense? Like Toxic said, HORSE BLINDERS!
-
Shurmur is a Retard. If weeden wants to impress, ignore this assholes play calls and audible at the line. What's to worry about? Shurmur has already lost his job imo

Thanks for making my point.
Pussy.

Looks like you get your wish.

What do you have to lose? Weeden is not the future!
-
Just seeing McCoy back under center you can understand the guy is not NFL caliber. He looks like a junior high school QB. Please get better Weeden, quick.
-
Colt's handoffs to Richardson were so much better than Weeden's. Colt should start from now on..
-
Wrong. Weeden is the future. He's already miles better than any QB in the 013 draft and possibly the 014 as well. If he wasn't 29 he would have been picked above Tannehill last year.
Yes, he's made some mistakes - as every quarterback will make. Expecting perfection [as though it's achievable] shows you know nothing about sports.
-
I could care less who the QB is, but some of the stuff Weeden does as a 29 year old qb confuses me.....
Play of the day for him today was sliding down behind the line out of the pocket to take a 4 yard loss on 1st down with a 6 point lead, 8 mins left in the game on his own 25 yard line "to keep the clock running"...... Wtf......
Only thing stranger was listening to the dumb ass play caller try to explain why it was a good thing....

That and the clock actually stopped for a good 20 seconds after he fell down so it didn't help us anyway. Glad that 20 seconds didn't cost us the game, but still stupid not to throw that ball away..

Anyone who thinks Colt McCoy is better than Weeden, is dumb. Sorry, Colt Made horrible decisions, cannot push the ball down the field he is not starting caliber. Now, its possible Weeden isn't the guy either. But he is clearly better than McCoy. He can make throws that McCoy can only dream about. I wished McCoy was the guy, he had plenty of opportunity to prove that. He failed, and failed quite substantially. People on here just like to bitch.

I am with you. He looked scared to death and he knew all he was going to do is hand the ball off. Get well soon Brandon. By the way, his numbers were not that bad: 17-26 for 158 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, rating 78.7. (McCoy's career rating vs. Steelers: 56.0)

knew you'd show up and say the same old thing.
i never understood why fans of the same team call out other fans for been critical of a player. it's not like either one has anything personally invested in said player.
as the poster above said...we're fucking 2 and 8. why not throw the other QB in? can it be any worse? it's not like all of a sudden the switch in weeden's head is going to go on.
but hey, i'll let it play out just like it is. i understand the guy is a first round pick and we have to play him. believe me i WANT the guy to succeed. i WANT this team to WIN.
there will be a lot of changing opinions at the end of the year. and if it's my opinion that's changed, i'll be the first one to step up and admit it. but let's be realistic. if weeden doesn't do enough to impress haslam in these games.....i don't think he's the type of guy to go all-in on an old rookie who had superior weapons than the guy before him and lead the team to a worse record.
Because we're 2 and 8. We're not making the playoffs. The season ends Week 17. Why throw the other kid in when he's not in the plans to be the QB of the future. This is just practice for Weeden at this point.
Do you think the Panthers should throw in Jimmy Clausen? He got a "bad wrap" and hasn't really had the opportunity to show what he's made of yet. And he's a second round pick, Colt's a third.
I'm not saying Weeden has been a world-beater. It's been extremely rough watching him. But there's not a better QB on the roster and there's not a better QB in the draft. So this talk of benching Weeden and re-drafting is stupid.
And frankly, I get tired of seeing the same people say over and over "This guy sucks, if we put in the backup we'd be [insert stupid prediction here]."

EXACTLY, I couldnt agree more. Who knows if Weeden will be a great QB. He hasnt shown that so far this season. However, there is no better option on the bench or in the draft! Lets build this defense and make it one that can compete with the ravens and steelers. QB will come eventually. At worst Weeden can be a game managing QB with a good OL/RBs and solid possession receivers, defense wins championships!
-
Weeden is foam on this teams fire...he sucks the life out of everyone...each time he steps on the field the lights dim and the grass just dies under his feet. He is the anti-spark...he is shame in a sea of pride.
-
Joe Thomas said it best to Weeden today "kneel before me bitch and give my some head, hey tard not your head!"
-
Let's rename this thread "Home of the bitch-pussies".
Keep crying, ladies.

Ed Zachery... as predictable as Monday will follow Tuesday...

So why not say the above in your first reply instead of just dropping your initial "pussy" post and skipping on? Just not your style, Sparky? Or are you on a pussy-post, quota system?
That said...
I've been as critical of drafting Weeden as anyone, but I'd warmed to him through the season because I'd seen improvement... at least until a couple weeks ago. But last couple games he has either plateaued or regressed in a couple areas.
Most obvious is that he is seriously overthrowing (in the baseball pitcher sense) when he throws down the field and it is making him wild... mostly wild high, but also wild left/right. If anything I thought he was "aiming the ball" too much early on, now he seems to be muscling his throws and not trusting his only real asset, his natural arm strength.
By contrast his short and intermediate touch stuff looks great. The Swing pass he made to TR toward the far sideline early on was really nice... as was the TD pass to Cameron, which had a little zip on it.
And now he's hurt... bumped his head on Joe Thomas' knee... and he's out. The guy is soft.
I +1'd the earlier comment comparing him to Anderson, but I still think Mike Phipps is the better comparison.
Time to bring on our Brian Sipe...

wouldn't you be scared to death to come in a game and not lose it?
fucking idiots.
i don't think anybody in this argument has said mccoy is better than weeden. CAN EVERYONE GET THAT THROUGH THEIR FUCKING SKULLZ??
maybe we just feel bad for a guy who got screwed by some big fat pompous ass. you knw, da MAN? kinda like reality or the real world right now, all around us in everyday life.
mccoy is not as big and doesn't have the strong arm as weeds does BUT HE SHOWED MORE HEART IN EVERY START FOR THIS TEAM PLAYING HURT than weeden has so far. HE HAS NO COMMAND. NO LEADERSHIP SKILLZ. HE LOOKS DUMB.
you pulled out ratings. why not match up mccoys rookie season #'s to weedens. then get back to me.
mccoy was born to be a QB in football country. weeden couldn't make it in baseball so he decided to play football.
get it yet?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! HAHA! A little bit bitter? I am sure you went over and lit all of your candles in your McNoodlearm shrine once he started warming up on the sideline. He is a bum and always will be. I feel so bad for poor McNoodlearm for getting a sizable NFL contract and two years as a starter to prove he had what it takes. Poor guy. Get a clue.

McCoy was spectacular on the tackle of the stooler who picked up Trents non-fumble.
