Weeden....just Pathetic........

  • Anyone who thinks Colt McCoy is better than Weeden, is dumb. Sorry, Colt Made horrible decisions, cannot push the ball down the field he is not starting caliber. Now, its possible Weeden isn't the guy either. But he is clearly better than McCoy. He can make throws that McCoy can only dream about. I wished McCoy was the guy, he had plenty of opportunity to prove that. He failed, and failed quite substantially. People on here just like to bitch.

Really? I was at the game today and I remember no such throw (or throws). Enlighten me so I know which play ( or plays) to pay special attention to when I re-watch the game.

I didn't realize being at the game meant you saw more than those that watched it on tv.

dude he is/was coaching. don't you know that? i mean he's not physically on the field but if you think for one minute that he's not pulling shurmur's strings then you are a lot more gullible than (??).........

he wasn't coaching the team. He wasn't in the building 16 hours a day. Hell he was in California when he learned the team was sold. And the owner was beating him to the office from TENN. He might have been making suggestions but he WAS NOT coaching the team. If he was pulling shurmers strings, this team would be A LOT better. He wanted nothing to do with the riggers and time it takes to coach. he wanted, and got, power and money.

    Dude are you brain dead?

I was asking because I didn't have the advantage of replays or all the different camera angles. I was looking for a real answer, not a junior high school response.

Yeah anything about 10 yds or beyond is out of McCoys play book. He can't make them, not with any real possibility of completion unless its wide open. Like college wide open. Weeden fits passes into much tighter holes. He wasn't perfect today but I think its stupid for people to expect Weeden to pass for 400 yds and 5 tds against the number defense. And even then people would bitch if he did that. Why do people like McCoy, he sucks. I wanted him to succeed. I did, I was all for him playing when he first got in there. But he played like shit. Some how people think he will play less like shit now. He made bad decisions and constantly repeated those bad decisions. Nobody respects the deep ball from him, not because of the WRs per se, but because he can't chuck it down the field. And when he does it flutters. You just have a younger Charlie Batch, is that what you want? I like McCoy the person, I like some of his intangibles, I wish he worked out so we aren't having this discussion. But if you think McCoy is better you need your head examined. He was so good, that we received no trade interest from any teams on him. At least no serious ones. Weeden may not be the guy, he still has to prove that. If not we will go after another QB in near future, but McCoy is done as a starting QB here. Time you faced reality. He is nothing more than a backup.

  • What do you have to lose? Weeden is not the future!

Far out. Someone needs therapy. Either you, or those in the front office and coaching staff that think Colt should be on the roster.

And if McCoy starts next week I will pull for him just as hard as any other Browns player.

BTW for all those who think Weeden's performance was so bad today. You might want to compare it against the other QBs the Steelers have faced this yr and you might find its one of the better performances.

    Manning - 129.2 2 TD 0 INT 19-26 73.1% 253 yds

    Sanchez - 66.6 1 TD 0 INT 10-27 37% 138 yds

    Palmer - 103.7 3 TD 1 INT 24-34 70.1% 209 yds

    Vick - 104.2 2 TD 0 INT 20-30 66.7% 175 yds

    Hasselbeck 75.0 1 TD 1 INT 25-44 56.8% 290 yds

    Dalton - 56.4 1 TD 1 INT 14-28 50% 105 yds

    RG3 - 72.8 1 TD 0 INT 16-34 47.1% 177 yds

    Manning - 41.1 0 TD 1 INT 10-24 41.7% 125 yds

    Cassel - 46.0 0 TD 1 INT 11-26 42.3% 154 yds

    Flacco - 75.5 0 TD 0 INT 20-32 62.5% 164 yds

    Weeden - 78.7 1 TD 1 INT 17-26 65.4% 158 yds

The issue with Weeden today and the offense as a whole is that we had 7 turnovers and could only manage 20 points. Weeden is just so hot and cold that I"m just not sure what to make of him. I think from my view he's better than Colt right now and should only continue to improve which would make him tremendously better than McCoy. I'm just not sure he's the answer. He's got 5 more games to continue to improve (hopefully) and prove that he's the guy for the future.

I dont dispute that he may not be the "guy" time will tell. But I do dispute that McCoy is better. To me thats an absurd argument based on what McCoy has done on the field.

hey i'm not saying that mccoy is better. i'm saying we never got the chance to find out.

a rookie season felled short because of injury playing under one system. next year playing under another system w/o a running game (hillis fucked us with his so-called sore throat) and the like of little in his rookie year who had the nerves of a mouse in a corner and robiskie....WOW!!! then promised more talent around him w/o the franchise picking another QB which was a total bald faced lie only to get shoved aside like a piece of shit. that's the thing that irks me. it's not that mccoy is better than weeden. it's the way weeden was handed the job w/o any real competition. evaluation year. evaluation year. evaluation year. that's what i've heard every year since holmgren came into power.

hell i hope weeden turns into andrew luck overnite and is the new messiah.

i'm just the guy that hates people getting stepped on. i always root for the underdog when my team or player is not involved. but at the end of the day i just want the browns to win.
