Bad News For The Stoolers

The Browns are 5-23 against the stoolers since 1999. But all 5 years we have beaten them, the stoolers have missed the playoffs.

If Ben doesn't get healthy everyone in Pittsburgh is expecting to miss the playoffs. Hell if he can't get healthy before it starts to really matter I'd wager most would PREFER to miss the playoffs. It would be nice to have a higher draft pick for a change. However if Benn and the rest of the team gets healthy they have the tools in place to make a run, especially with the way the defense is playing.

If I think the team is going to be one and done, I do because the Steelers make the playoffs all the time. I know that's arrogant but it's the truth. I want the Steelers to win as much as anyone else in "Steeler Nation" but I don't want another Tim Tebow incident where Ben comes back before he's ready to come back and our defense sh*ts the bed. If the Steelers can get healthy before the playoffs and earn the 6th seed I'm all aboard the train to seven.

As far as the fumbles are concerned one of those was the result of a really nice hit. The others were simply not covering the damn ball up when running in to a pile of people expecting the run. I know that doesn't give much credit to the Browns defense but quite frankly all the Browns defense yesterday was physical, something they always are..they weren't overly impressive otherwise and would have been shredded by a more competent QB. Oh and hoorta if you happen to read this you all can't sit back and blame your bad coach if I can't sit back and blame our bad 3rd string QB and our running backs fumbling the football. Bad Coaches happen, just like inept back up quarterbacks and running backs that can't hold on to that football. 1) FYI- those that don't know already hoorta (it's a deliberate misspelling of Horta- there was already on on AOL when I signed up) is a creature from the original Star Trek series- episode "The Devil in the Dark" and it's one of the better ones. The Horta could bore through rock and vaporize humans- like I used to do with Baltimore trolls immediately post Schmodell- and the name just stuck.
2) I don't mess with poster's screen names because I'm not high up enough in the board food chain to do so- and even if I could, I wouldn't. Zombo may think it's funny- I don't. If I find someone too moronic, nasty, or a spammer, they get the boot with maybe one warning, and then it's bye-bye.
3) Regarding those fumbles- don't you think your coaches were screaming BALL SECURITY after the first couple fumbles? Every one of your RBs put the ball on the ground- coincidence? I think not, unless you want to say the Browns got extremely lucky. LOL, I've said when it comes to that- I'd always rather be lucky than good.
4) Of course, in "official" channels, teams aren't allowed to play the injury card as an excuse for a loss. However, you'd have to be a freaking moron to say injuries weren't a huge factor in the Steelers loss. So yes, you can blame Batch all you want to- he may have been a contributing factor- but IMHO those 5 fumbles were far more important. BTW, Shurmur is a worse Head Coach than Charlie Batch is as a 3rd string qb.
5) As was pointed out elsewhere the Browns are three plays away- a dropped int against the Eagles, and a dropped Josh Gordon game winning TD against the Colts from having the same record as the Steelers. I'd like to think the more rational Browns fans will take the Steelers win for what it's worth- a narrow win that could have been more over an injury depleted team. When we beat a full strength team in Pittsburgh, it's time to start crowing.
6) As to getting shredded by a "more competent qb" it ain't rocket science. Locate #23 & #43, and throw the ball where they aren't.
