I would have put this in barber shop talk but no one would see it. Politics is slow anyway.
It's being said this could revolutionize aviation in the same way the jet engine did. Cool.

I wonder if the British built SABRE has any ties with Rolls Royce ?
The famous Rolls Royce jet engine is now built in Germany. (Siebens) - alot of brits out of work....
Also. the EU must have some serious $ $tashed away for this venture,
The "ship" looks like the Virgin record guy - Bransons space flyer doesnt it?
but really, who needs to get to Austrailia in under 4 hours? I would think part of the fun would be in the journey?

Apparently one of the two new planes in production would be able to circumnavigate the globe in four hours. Personally for me the fun is never in the journey when flying. The faster the better.

Neat, hope it works out and I can see true space travel in my lifetime(going to different planets, etc).

I have a very hard time believing the low-cost that these guys are trying to push.

That's why it will hopefully revolutionize avionics and replace the space shuttle instead of just being a really cool plane.

Me too. I suppose it all boils down to how much fuel will be saved over traditional jet transport and how well they project what the operator is going to charge as a convenience fee. Sure as you know what, someone is going to decide a person is going to have to pay for the benefit of being able to fly to the other side of the globe in a couple of hours v 15 hours.

Too bad its the Brits doing this instead of us. But then again Obama is gutting NASA so that all of our hard work in the past is for nothing.
