  • I'd like to see Bademosi get some playing time as well. However, I think overall Skrine had much better play this game than in the past. Upon close inspection, the fair catch interference penalty was not as bad as it first seemed. I think it was 51% a heads up play by the returner and 49% carelessness by Skrine. First, the punt returner didn't call for the fair catch until Skrine was 5 yards away running at full speed. Second, you can see Skrine trying to lean out of the way to try to avoid the returner but the returner was also moving in towards Skrine. The difference between interference and no interference on this play was no more than a quarter of a second. Again, not saying Skrine was great but you have to acknowledge that he had some textbook plays this game as the announcers identified.

  • How is that guy still playing? He got burned over and over not to mention a 65 yard TD by an undrafted free agent wr. And then he runs directly into the punt returner. The guy is WAVING HIS HAND DIRECTLY INFRONT OF YOU!!!!!!!!!!

How can the coaches keep putting this guy out there? There has to be someone better on this team, or on the street for that matter.

UM, because the guy can run a 4.3 . Yes, he's made dumb decisions, yes he's gotten burned. Raw talent, he's only behind Joe Haden is why he's still out there playing.

Same argument the Colt lovers want to bench Weeden.

  • ok i didn't have the live tv feed for the game and i was doing some work on the side...

some highlights i did see was brown playing above his head and maybe int he first or second raider's offensive possesion skrine made an over-the-top knock out of the ball away from their #1. they were smart and played heyward-bey on the opposite side of the field from haden. from what i saw skrine and brown held their own and IMO dominated that secondary scheme albeit the one dumb penalty and a blown coverage. one time.

i realize i can bitch about mccoy vs. weeden but i can at least admit when i'm wrong. the guy has the arm and stature of our next franchise QB if he could only be more consistent and hit people wide open (if so we would have won by 2 TDs). he'll get better along the way.

    same with skrine.

  • Honestly I'd rather keep Bademosi on ST because he's one of our best coverage players.

I want to sign someone this offseason, and I'm not sure it will be popular to say. But Dominique-Rodgers Cromartie is a free agent and I don't see the Eagles keeping him. This guy would be a great #2 corner aside Joe Haden and we would be able to draft a Safety and a Pass Rusher in the early rounds. He's only 26 years old and man if we finally went in to FA and grabbed a premier player it would show Jimmy is for real.

Or, given that they may draft from like 6th to 10th they could have their eye on the top rookie CB in the draft. Right now that is considered Dee Milliner from Alabama.

  • Can't go wrong taking another SEC guy

I know who Dee Milliner is, but with signing a proven CB and adding a top talent in another position it makes sense as well.

Sure we can keep drafting until our team is full of great players or we can be like all the other good front offices and mix in some free agents and trades with building our team.

Yes, I agree that with our needs possibly at DE/OLB/FS/CB/OG that a FA or two could be the way to go to strengthen this team. But, I think that at CB perhaps a rookie would be the best way to go.

Big deal about 4.3 speed. I'll take a guy slower that knows what he's doing and were to be anyday. He has been burnt by bigger, slower, less "raw talented" Wideouts ALL SEASON. All that speed has done is get him out of position, because he thinks he can just make it up with his speed. Unless you are Roy Green or Deion Sanders, technique, awareness, and understanding what you are doing and where to be are WAY more important things then speed

I know everyone gets their panties in a twist when you "judge" a rookie harshly, but I don't give a shit. The guy sucks and has to be replaced. I still want a pass rusher with first pick. If we can't get a decent looking DB in the third round we have to Go FA

  • Well I don't think replacing Skrine will instantly make the Browns a super bowl contender. Let the guy get some on the job training. If he doesn't show improvement let him go, but give him a chance to get better. You don't see many companies firing new employees because they make a mistake while they're still learning the job.

I think a DE/OLB with elite tools is better than the best CB available.

I like Milliner's physicality and ability to tackle, I just don't want to spend a Top 10 pick on our second best corner.

  • Agreed, we will be active in FA this year and there are plenty of capable #2 corners available.....I think the draft will depend on what other holes we fill via fa as well

  • Dimitri Patterson is going to be back this week. It'll be interesting to see who is getting the snaps and when.
