This is week 14 my friend. What did I see out of the Weedster? Like the baseball pitcher he is- a lot of high uncatchable fastballs, balls thrown behind receivers, 4 passes knocked down, piss poor field awareness, inability to (for the most part) hit his receivers in stride, and ZERO touch on his throws. This guy is DA II, and he's 30 years old. One of those ints would have been avoidable if he had merely lobbed the ball over the LBs head.

Oh, BTW, Shurmur and Jauron are gone too- Shanahan & his kid coached their pants off today.

Weeden wouldn't have been a bad pick if u guys would have waited to pick him. Why did u guys take him so early? I really still don't get it? You coulda prolly for him in the 3rd round.

Shurmur commenting on Weeden's play today, "I don't think it was a setback for him (Weeden)." He is doing just fine according to Shurmur. Nevermind all of those wild throws, INTs, and batted down balls. Coach says Wheezy is right on track. How the hell does a 6'4" QB have so many batted balls you say? Let Weeden break it down for you, "I'm 6-4 but these other guys are 6-4 and taller and they do a good job of batting them." Tell that to 5'11" rookie QB Russell Wilson. No wait, he was too busy thoroughly dismantling the Buffalo Bills today to worry about how tall they were. Two rookie QBs head-to-head today, one 24 years old in his first NFL start, the other 29 years old in his 14th start. Tell me who looked like the rookie.

Funny quote of Weeden today was that the Redskins were a "good defense". Weeden was just awful.

Frankly today weeden looked like another tall goofy bastard the browns ran out in 2007 and 2008. He's shown flashes of being really good but also being really, really bad

alright i might get killed for this BUT i don't put this on weeds or shurmur.

we were just out-played at every position by a team that is more talented than us. going into the game on paper there is no denying that the redskins (on paper) have MUCH more talent than us. shanahan/skins FO choosing cousins now looks brilliant, four year starter at one of the best schools in NCAA. they up and down kicked our ass.

i am still confident that we are a good team getting a lot better. weeds can't turn the ball over and although brown played above his head in the last couple of weeks...today he looked old. the defense and turnovers were the resonse we lost this game. not the coach.

Hello- Earth to Pat- were you watching the same game I was? That's why you're outta here in a few weeks. FWIW, I usually watch the Browns at my pal's place (when I'm not at the game) to the bitter end. I was so disgusted, I told the guys adios, Merry Christmas with 5 minutes left in the game. Time to go shopping.

Incidentally, I'd trade Cousins for Weeden in a heartbeat.

PS Brandon- it's a concept called "passing lanes". You've already had more passes knocked down in one season than 6'1" Brian Sipe did in an entire career.

Bullshit. Jauron was clueless after the 'Skins made adjustments and started rolling Cousins out.

So who you gonna blame the turnovers on Mik? Shurmur? Those were both piss-poor decisions and lousy passes on Weeden. Cost us 14 points right there.

Those were two evenly matched teams. Shanahan sent Shure-loss back to coaching school.

Whatever Weeden is, he IS the Browns starting QB and he will be for the remainder of the season.

The ONLY way COlt gets to start is at the request of another NFL team who the Browns are trying to unload him to.

Weeden is the best the Browns have, so until the franchise steps up and really drafts a high profile QB we are not going to have a winner. Admittedly, RG3 and Luck are both turning out to be shit busts.

Yeah, so was Spurgeon Winn, Tim Couch, Jeff Garcia.... and I could go on.

Problem is- with 5 wins, we just screwed ourselves out of the top qb derby. Better hope T'eo is still there @ #8.

i can and am one of the biggest ball busters here BUT where's the voice of reason?

the browns are young and growing. they were on a high of winning three games in a row. they got their asses handed to them today. so did the giants. so are the patriots. fire coughlin an cut manning? fire belichick and cut brady?

slow the roll brothers. we are just starting this journey. blow the whole shit up again and you're asking for another 5 year plan from someone else who you'll all say is great and then 4 losses in a row call for his head? i didn't like the weeden pick BUT he's the guy now. give him a chance. if this time next year and he's still our QB and he's making these mistakes then i'll agree....good riddance. but in all relative terms as far as NFL experience, he's still a kid.

yep it woulda have been great bidding for a playoff spot but REALLY? outside of Z or poG who really thought we had a chance.

stay the course and add some key positional players and I"LL GUARANTEE the preseason prognosticators will have us in the top 10 next year.

best thing that happened this year is holgren was shown the door. on the other hand heckert deserves to stay. just no more philly affiliation pleez BANNER.

Bite me. Go look up my posts from back then- I wanted Peterson, and Ladanian Tomlinson before that.

So how did the next Jim Brown (Richardson) look today? Pretty much sucked.

Weeden reminds me a lot of Vinnie Testaverde especially early in his career, mediocre at best.

There are those times when he shows good potential, but then makes a poor decision that leaves you scratching your head.

Maybe and I say Maybe, he will find his ass under a new system and better play calling??? Holmgren rolled the dice on a 28 year old prospect out of panic that all the decent QB's available would be off the board. He burned a 1st round pick and he's not played like a 1st round pick, atleast not yet.

Weeden has struggled his rookie season, but we have other problems to solve as well. Some help on defense wouldn't hurt.

As the old saying goes you can't win in this league without a franchise QB.

Yup, although it's simple really, he's a better player now than Weeden ever will be, and they didn't reach like a giraffe to select him.

I hate to break the news, but a couple of things

                                    1. Its not all Weedens fault. Example good coaches not even great coaches play to the QB strenth they wrap the Offense around that person not force feed him the Offense they want to run. When Denver had Tebow they changed there whole Offense then they got Manning and changed again to the Manning Offense. Denver has had 3 different offenses in less than 2 years!!!! Wash today did not have RG3 did you see the Pistel formation? No because they change there offense for Cousins. Weeden is a High Tempo Shot Gun QB. Do we ever run a high temp Offense?? Hell no!!! Shit we have TRich in the back field and we do not even know how to use him.

                                    2. There is NO GOOD QB WORTH TAKING IN THE FIRST ROUND IN THE COMING UP DRAFT. I feel sorry for KC who more than likely will take Gino Smith who has bust written all over him.

                                    3. Weeden will be our QB next year, and If we get the right Coach I will bet every Dollar I have we will go for at least 4,000 yards and 20 TDS

                                    4. The offense we should be running if Shurmer had a clue is the NFL version of Okl State offense that Weeden ran. Simple!!!!

                                    5. I hate when the Browns lose, but at least this lose puts the nail in the Coffin of Shurmer....Really after what TRICH said today just show how we have the worst coach in the NFL

If you can't run the bal you can't pass the ball.i'm not a weeden praiser by any means but we can't run the ball for $hit.11 run for 28 yards sucks bad, barely over 2 yards a carry.i can't understand why everyone is hugging his nut when he hardly ever does anything.if the other teams knoe we have to theow the ball damn near 40 times or more they can sit back and wait for passes,Hell they should run weeden more often he had the best average today.

The thing about Weeden.....he's likle Jekyll and Hyde...on the td pass for 65 yards, he hits the receiver in stride. Tom Brady couldn't throw it any better. Then the 2 int's....it's like he can't think quick enough to make the right decisions. He sucks, but I don't think MCcoy would be any better. I wouldn't try to draft another qb.....I would see what is available in free agency, and hope Weeden improves.
