  • Good God, man. Sanchez will be out of the league before Brady. Three or four years on the Matt Leinart tour and he is gone.

    Z

  • Didn't he play with Leinart? They are a mirror image of each other. No quarter backs from usc please.

  • I remember Shep thought he would be the next Montana.

  • i would like to see the Browns aquire qb Alex Smith.

He is an upgrade on our roster and a good stop gap if we can't get a franchise guy..

Sanchez is poop at QB but at least he is hot huh?

  • I remember Shep thought he would be the next Montana.

Shep loved Quinn, Leinart and Sanchez coming out of the draft. Look at them.

The only two QBs I ever slobbered over coming out of the draft were Tim Couch and RG3. 50/50 ain't too bad on QBs.

My other biggest draft loves were Adrian Peterson and Ed Reed.

Makes me sad that a yahoo like me can see guys like RG3, Peterson and Reed dripping with talent but the guys in charge of the Browns passed up all three.

And, yes, we passed up RG3 ... we had more ammo than the Redskins, just didn't pull the trigger.

Oh well, Heckert has done a nice enough job, this team has talent ... but the key to any franchise is Coach + QB ... We have one that "gots to go" and one that is big fat "Iffy".

Coach and quarterback ... we have done shit at either spot yet since 1999.

  • I was somewhat of a defender of Mark Sanchez the past couple of years because of what he did for the Jets his first two years there.....but no more.

Last night proved that he is truly a turd of a QB. At least in this system. Maybe he could be somewhat better in a different system.

And, there is a moral to this story: Don't necessarily buy all the hype over the success that a rookie QB may have.

So, for all you lovers of Bob Griffin, Luck, Russell Wilson, Tannehill, be aware that it may not necessarily be the QB that looks the best right out of the gate of his career that ends up being the best. It may indeed be the late bloomer who turns out best. Yes, this is a potential defense of BW3.

All I am saying is don't judge a book by its first chapter.

But in the same breath, Weeden isnt much better in respect of his stats than Sanchez, so we could be leading ourselves down the same path as the Jets with the QB position staying with BW, there just hasnt been any indication of Weeden improving or learning from mistakes as the season has gone on, which is a very bad sign if you ask me, Just shame there are no great QB coming out this year, as think new ownership will get someone else in to compete with Weeden next year, where from though is anyones guess as there are not many decent free agents coming up this year either, God help us 😮

Exactly! What more is there to say. All the arguing, bitchin' and moaning during draft season and who is going to do this or do that is all just a roll of the dice guys. But those dice are not just numbers... Those dices contain, teams, coaches, GM's, OC, etc as potential results and that plays heavily into a players success.

One thing I would love to know or see is how Peyton Manning progressed in his years at Indy. He has a crapper of a first year, but is goign to go down as one of the best ever. He basically ran that offense. How did he develop? How did he progress?

That's why I'm not ready to give up on Weeden. We are probably going to have a whole new regime next year. Let's see what happens.

I think Shurmur is over coaching the guy. We saw Cousins getting hammered early on by our defense. Yet the Redskins changed up. They evolved and cousins started moving his feet and rolling out. Not once, numerous times. I am under the firm opinion that Weeds is being coached by Shurmur to stand his ground. But maybe he's taking it to literally, or being told exaclty that. I don't know. But Weeds isn't shedding any light on the subject. He's not fessing up to making the mistake by not throwing the ball and holding onto it. He's not fessing up for not moving his feet and running from the collapsing pocket. He can't put blame on himself or he would be lying, and he's not going to throw the coaches under the bus either, because that would send the media into a frenzy.

I'm only speculating, but I believe Shurmur has a leash wrapped around weeds nuts so tight the guy can't move.

i doubt if belichick does that considering they got that kid mallet from arkansas they are grooming to be brady's replacement.

considering there is no one coming out in the draft at that position and there are teams clamoring for a guy i could see a lot of trade talks heating up before the draft for other team's #2 QB. mallet, cousins, osweiller all guys i'd look at if i was a team desperate for a QB.

that being said i don't think the browns are desperate for a QB. give weeds another year (that's if he beats out mccoy in training camp next year.....cuz you know that wasn't a fair fight) and if he/they shit the bed start to look elsewhere.

sanchez is done. he's got no confidence left. i don't think switching teams will change that.

He will get a job holding a clipboard, at the minimum he has the experience.

Sanchez benched for McElroy not Tebow. What a mess that team is.

    http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/story/_/id/8759414/mark-sanchez-new-york-jets-benched-greg-mcelroy-start

the biggest question mark is why did they trade for tebow? they didn't watch film on him before making the trade?

GM coach and QB could be gone. problem is sanchez is due a lot of money next year.

  • The Jets have a talent for losing in the most hilarious ways. That game last night was a blast to watch. When Sanchez threw that last INT, I thought it was over. Then, out of nowhere, the Titan's suck-a-tude came roaring back with a 19 yard punt. Sanchez had a chance at redemption. TD pass and everyone forgets about those 4 INTs. Talking heads at ESPN would talk about an ugly game but a clutch win for Sanchez. Jets playoff chances...blah blah blah. Personally, I was rooting for another butt fumble. What happens? Low snap, Sanchez fumbles, RB inadvertently kicks the ball, Titans fall on it. Ball game. The ineptitude was a thing of beauty. Tebow pulled out his phone on the sidelines and called god (he gave Tebow his number) and said "God, make me a bird, so I can fly far far away from here."

But the history of the league has many QBs that had a rough start like BW3 has had who have gone on to improve greatly over their next several years. Elway and both Mannings had far rougher starts than Weeden has had.

So I don't think it is appropriate to jump to conclusions either way: that BW3 will be no good forever because he had a rough rookie season....or that the likes or RGIII will be the greatest because he has had a good rookie season.

It is just too early to judge these guys. It is even a bit early to completely judge Sanchez. The fact is, that whole Jets team is a mess, not just Sanchez. Who knows if he could do better elsewhere.
