  • I can't believe NYJ didn't fire Ryan. How can they blame the GM with the way that team plays.

That combination is meant for each other. If the Jets organization is all about being flamboyant with no real substance, Ryan is their man.

Good luck Tebow, hope they turn you loose fast so someone with heart can use your talents.

As I understand it, no player can be "let loose" until after the Super Bowl. Correct me if I am wrong.

  • Maybe we could hire Crennel. Our defense stinks, we could use a defensive minded HC.

  • As I type Haslam and Banner are holding their news conference regarding the firing of Shurmur and Heckert. However, there are other axes that are falling on some heads around the league...including some surprises:

The Bears fire HC Lovie Smith..the biggest surprise, considering they went 10-6.

    The Chiefs fire Romeo Crennel

    The Bills fire Chan Gailey

    The Eagles fire Andy Reid

The Jets fire GM Mike Tannenbaum..but Rex Ryan will stay.

The Jags fire GM Gene Smith

There has been no announcement yet about the HCs of the Titans/Cards/Panthers/Chargers

It is also reported that John Gruden is interested in the Eagles and Chargers jobs.

Wow! Crazy. He is a good coach that had to put up with a whiny bitch of a QB. I would hire him in a second if I were the Browns.

Agreed. The premier candidiate I have read about is Andy Reid, but Lovie Smith in my opinion, brings MUCH more to a franchise. Only concern is, although he did deal with Cutler (if there is such a thing),he also had Kyle Orton and who else befor Orton ? Can he really asess talent ? Without Cutler, the Bears QB position was a mess. We are not in a good position for someone who needs to develop leadership. Still, given the options (Saban, Reid, Gruden, etc.) I believe this guy is the strongest and really don't get why Chicago would have let him go.

Lovie got to the Superbowl with Rex Grossman as his QB.

I am sure he had a say in personal but not final say. Correct me if I am wrong. Browns 149 is right, he made it to a Superbowl with Grossman. He would do wonders for our defense.

  • Reid is closer to the "full tool set" then lovie but imho he lacks the fire to ignite his team, tends to overlook his defensive needs, not to mention he is a real dud at pressers..

Lovie is a very stable and solid HC and will be a solid grab for some team that wants to offer stability to their team but does not care if they win any titles..

  • Lovie Smith is not in charge of finding his team a QB. The GM shouldve done that and didn't. Cutler is average and his OL is complete garbage. Lovie's Defense didn't cost them games, it was Mike Tice's offense.

  • Maybe we could hire Crennel. Our defense stinks, we could use a defensive minded HC.

How is it possible that everybody missed this comment and kept commenting on Lovie Smith? USF Brown, Really? We had Crennel remember? He was terrible, just like he was in KC. And BTW he doesn't fit the criteria that Haslam and Banner are looking for in a coach.

If you were trying to be sarcastic, next time include some indication in your post.

  • Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter Andy Reid has emerged as the leading candidate to become Arizona's next HC and could be named to job by end of the week, per league sources. Expand Reply Retweet Favorite

    Next time I'll use the tags… <sarcasm />

  • Sarcasm detectors don't seem to be calibrated for 2013, yet. Someone in the other thread is getting pissy about someone suggesting Chip Kelly because of Oregon's uniforms.
