  • and then you woke up

  • Even PoeticG isn't this ridiculously optimistic.

  • Really do not think its that far off, think about it

The NBA is a 2 star league, so we all can agree the Irving is one of the best players in the league at 20 yrs old now, so in 3 yrs lets say he is top 3 player in the league with James and Durant, now lets say the runors of Lebron coming back to Cleveland are true. The Cavs with all that young talent that will not be that young anymore with Lebron can easy win a championship

Baseball- the Tribe Line-up now can hang with anyones lineup, there Defense will be great this year and there bullpen is top 5 in baseball now. IF they can get solis pitching from there starters they can easliy win the whole thing this year. Baseball is the one sport were if you get hot at the right time you can win the whole thing

Football- Again is a QB league we have a ton a pieces in place now we have 3 yrs to get a stud QB before my 2016 predictions come true, this is a stretch I know....

  • I'll take LBJ back and if he does come back it will be the cavs.

Screw LBJ. Like remarrying an ex-wife. Ain't gonna happen.

  • i can just see the espn headlines now...."return of the king"

  • Won't need LeBlow job in a couple of years. Kyrie is that good. Cavs get two more solid pieces, and another year of experience, they contend. No need for that d-bag

  • Its time to get over the BUTTHURT already. Lebron will not be back to cleveland. The closest he will come is to visit Akron and his family. Its a shame that everyone blames lebron and noone blames gilbert for not putting the pieces around him to be successful. Granted "The Decision" was a load of crap and i'm sure Lebron is aware of that now, but don't expect him to feel "sorry" and come runnin back with his tail between his legs. It's all about the rings now and i don't see the Cavs putting their eggs back into that basket again anyhow. Of course I live in the Miami viewing area so I get to see him play every game, maybe thats why I was able to get over it.

  • Remember 2007?

  • Indians have the best shot to take down a series over the next 3 years.

Without seeing the moves by the Cavs or Browns yet both teams aren't playoff contenders with their current rosters.

  • Cavs are the closest IF LBJ comes back. The Browns would be next IF they find

a franchise QB (easier said than done). The Indians are third IF the Dolans sell

the team. They (Dolans) will NEVER spend enough money to get the Indians over

the top.The only reason the spent this year is because they totally lost their fan

base and they received a windfall of over 200 mil from the sale of STO. Anyone

who thinks they are spending money for no reason is whistiling past the graveyard.

All in all a lots of IFS.

  • you guys really need to stop hating on Lebron. I was the biggest hater, but after i simmered down and faced reality I understood why he left--the best player we surrounded him with was Larry Freaking Hughes. Lol no wonder we didn't win and he left, I would too. We should all be happy if he comes back--and DON'T BOO him when he returns to Cleveland to play later this year, either. You all sound like a bunch of scorned ex lovers already. Stop it, you're embarrassing the city!!

  • In a couple of years Cleveland's team will win titles in all three sports in the same year.

Now, trivia time: When was the last time a city had 3 teams win a title in the same year?

Three of the four "major" sports in a calendar year? Hasn't happened in my lifetime.

Hasn't happened in anyone's lifetime because it has never happened.

For what I mean as "same year" let's take 2013 as an example. The NBA and NHL titles that will be acquired this coming June count for me as 2013, even though the first part of the season was played in 2012 (or usually is...this year the NHL didn't begin until January). Of course the entire forthcoming baseball season will have begun and ended in 2013. And for the NFL I count the year that the regular season is played. The Ravens just won the 2012 title. The next title won will be for the 2013 season even if the playoffs are played in Jan/Feb of 2014.

So, with that criteria here are the cities/regions that have won titles in the same year. Keep in mind the most that has happened is two in a year. And FYI, I count the region....so LA/Anaheim and San Fran/Oak count as one...as does NY/NJ and....Cleveland/Akron. In fact, the very first year that it occurred it occured as follows:

    1920 Cleveland/Akron MLB and NFL

1927 New York MLB and NFL

1928 New York NHL and MLB

1933 New York NHL and MLB

    1935 Detroit MLB and NFL

1938 New York MLB and NFL

    1948 Cleveland MLB and AAFC

    1952 Detroit NHL and NFL

1956 New York MLB and NFL

    1970 Baltimore MLB and NFL

    1979 Pittsburg MLB and NFL

1986 New York MLB and NFL

1988 Los Angeles NBA and MLB

    1989 SF/Oak MLB and NFL

2000 New York/NJ NHL and MLB

    2002 LA/Anaheim NBA and MLB

    2004 Boston/NE MLB and NFL

(Note: I am aware that the Steelers won the SB in Feb. 2009 and the Penguins won in June 2009...but I consider those two different years as noted above. Perhaps in another post I will expand it to include back to back titles won by a town regardless of year. Also note: San Fran as you know just missed out on making the above list a few weeks ago)

  • What about 1935 Detroit ... Red Wings, Tigers, Lions.

    Zombo

  • Back to back titles for one city, regardless of year for this I use the progression of NBA/NHL (put together as one)>>>MLB>>>NFL>>>back to NHL/NBA.

(I also include the merged leagues...AAFC/AFL/WHL/ABA)

    1920 Cleveland/Akron MLB and NFL

1927/28 New York MLB/NFL/NHL/MLB 4 in a row (note: NBA did not exist yet...so this is a true 4 straight)

    1933 New York NHL/MLB

    1933/34 Chicago NFL/NHL

1935/36 Detroit MLB/NFL/NHL 3 in a row (same here, no NBA yet)

    1938 New York MLB/NFL

    1948 Cleveland MLB/AAFC

    1953/54 Detroit NFL/NHL

    1956 New York MLB/NFL

    1970 Baltimore MLB/NFL

    1979 Pittsburgh MLB/NFL

    1983/84 Los Angeles NFL/NBA

    1988 Los Angeles NBA/MLB

    1989 SF/Oak MLB/NFL

    2000 NY/NJ NHL/MLB

    2002 LA/Anaheim NBA/MLB

    2004 Boston/NE MLB/NFL

    2008/09 Pittsburgh NFL/NHL

The italicized ones are over 2 years and are at variance with the "two in one year of the prior post". The "two in one year" titles may not in fact have been consecutive titles...if a team won an NBA/NHL title, but skipped and won the NFL title.

  • What about 1935 Detroit ... Red Wings, Tigers, Lions.

By my reckoning Montreal won the 1935 NHL title. But see above. Redwings won 1935/36 title.

  • I see where the Cavs have 4 picks in the coming draft. One mock draft had them taking:

    Nerlens Noel 6'11" KY

    Jeff Withey 7'0" Kansas

    DeShaun Thomas 6'7" Ohio St.

    Nate Wolters 6'4" North Dakota

Or, do you think they should take Cody Zellers to put on their front line with his brother?
