Cardinals Release Adrian Wilson

The Browns Board

  • This looks very enticing for us

  • Good place holder for right now. Should come cheap, too.

  • I would like to sign him but reports r that horton reduced his playing time taking him out of nickel packages. He was an all pro in 2011, so either horton didn't like him or he is losing speed, either way he would have to come in at diminished role looks like.

Well he is up there in age, but is still better than what we have. Even if he was only a rotational guy for two years he would be worth it at 2.5 million (what he was due next season).

Point taken. He is better than what we have, but I am sick of hiring players to "fill holes", we have $45 mil, fucking spend it.

Agreed. If I have 80,000 to spend on a car, I'm buying a BMW, not 4 Ford Fusions.

The salary cap minimum is a 3-year total, and therefore only an actual minimum on the 3rd year.

Given the Deadspin sleuthing regarding the Panthers' owner making over $110M the year before the lockout, it wouldn't surprise me to learn the Browns have been kept significantly under the cap to give Lerner more profit, fans be damned.

That's well and good. But say you're in a team race and have 10 other cars.

Would you rather have one BMW and 10 mopeds or have 11 Honda Civics.

Man, that analogy really just got away from me. Point being, were only as strong as our weakest link. Splurging on one or two big name FAs won't do much if we don't fix our other holes.

I say we add one large contract (Kruger/Avril/Goldson), and then stock up on second tier players.

Gay. I would rather have 5 BMW's and 7 Honda Civics. Right now we have 2 BMW's and 10 Civics.

Im not 100% sure on this but wasn't it not so long ago we were in cap hell and one of the oldest teams thanks to savage? Then mangini took the reigns with hardly any draft picks that year. Im all for the spending but not working ourselves into a corner in a short amount of time either.
