Favorite Browns Play Of All Time

The Browns Board

  • That's the greatest Browns play that I can remember watching as it happened (on tv). I was flipping out during that !

  • That is easy for me. After waiting for the Browns to return they finally came back and delivered with this! With my favorite player at the time on the receiving end. I will always remember exactly where I was, who I was with that day because of this play. This to me signaled that the Browns were truly back!!! They gave me hope that day when I needed it. How did I know at that time that they would suck for sooooo long.

    Hail Mary TD

Dude Couch would of been good, the Browns didn't take a offensive linemen in the first round until 2003.

  • playoffs baby!! Don't know who shifted gears faster Metcalf or the crowd.

    About the 3:50 mark

No doubt is was great...I was lucky enough to see it live. Cussing to going crazy in about 10 seconds.

I can't find a vid, but the best play I think happened in Nashville....Dawson kicked a onside kick the other way.....I want to say Webster Slaughter caught it, but he wasn't on the team then....a great play....we scored a bunch of points in the final minutes to win the game.

Who was that receiver.....forgive me...I just got back from the first phase of a root canal....the pain meds and alcohol are starting to kick in.

  • Hard to believe my favorite occcured 20 years ago!

about the 2:10 mark it was Dennis Northcutt and unfortunately I remember him for something else he did later that year.

  • My favorite occured back in the 70's when Leroy kelly returned a punt from our 20 to the other 20 nearly stumbling and almost falling but never touched the ground...I doubt theres ever a youtube reel of it but its what made Me a Browns and LeRoy Kelly fan πŸ™‚

  • I lost it on Metcalf's second punt return. Lost it.

I will always remember where I was, who I was with ... I'd have to say that is most memorable favorite.

But there are tons of others ...

    The ones already posted ...

    Mack trucking the Oilers,

Metcalf faking a bungle out his jock.

I remember a Greg Pruitt zig zag TD against chiefs.

Webster Slaughter streaking down sideline in orange shoes v. Bears on MNF.

Brian Brennan TD in AFC championship in the Drive game.

Erin Turner stopping Jay Novacek dead in his tracks yo preserve a win late season 94.

Many more .... I will post some of them when I get a chance ...

  • Couple that come to mind that haven't been mentioned are Bernie throwing the bomb to Michael Jackson on the first play of the game.

Clay Matthews intercepting a pass against the Bills? Oilers? then fumbling.

  • Sipe hitting Ozzie in the corner vs. the Steelers in 1980, 27-26 Browns.

Sipe hitting Dave Logan vs. the Packers with about 15 seconds to go for a win, I think it was 1979.

Robert L. Jackson knocking Earl Campbell's teeth out on MNF.

Phil Dawson's 48 yard FG vs. Buffalo in a blizzard 2007.

Phipps hitting Pitts in San Diego, MNF 1972 with a minute to go.

There are so many Browns memories, I can post more later.

Lol....actually he tried to lateral to Big Daddy Hairston. That was a helluva game.

I was around 11 years old when I remember Eric turner laid the wood on Novacek. That in my mind was a defining moment on who I was going to root for, for the rest of my life. Also RIP Mr. Eric Turner.

  • This video is crap but it summs up the reaction to my favourite play. My first game in Cleveland having been a Browns fan overseas since 1989, Phil "automatic" Dawson kicking the winning filed goal in OT Vs Seahawks November 4th 2007.

I have not seen the Browns win in person since that date despite 5 more trips over the pond since then - there's always this year!

That's one more win than I've seen. The win I saw in person was November of 2000 against the Patriots. Doug Pederson was our starting QB.

This year we will see a win together - no doubt

You have a good memory! I can't remember what I ate for breakfast yesterday.

One I loved that hasn't been mentioned.

The goal line stand against Atlanta Dec. 2002. The final game of the season to get us to 9-7 and earn us our only playoff appearance since the return. I was at that game with incredible seats. That place was rocking!
