    "Colt pieced them up".

Let's take a look at the stats...

    New Orleans

    9-16 74 yards 0 TD 0 INT

That's "Colt piecing them up"?? Maybe he did a lot on the ground that game..

    Nope...5 carries for - 5 yards.

I seriously can't believe we are having a discussion about this clown.

Maybe PG can post some highlights from Colt's peewee football career and that will help convince us that Colt is the greatest QB in NFL history and we should just hand over the starting job to him.

And lastly...this isn't about Colt vs. Weeden. I'm hardly convinced that Weeden is the answer at QB. I am convinced though that Colt isn't the answer. I've seen enough and also heard enough from enough people who know a whole hell of a lot more about football than I do. Everyone of them says the exact same thing. Colt McCoy doesn't have enough talent to be a starting QB in the NFL.

Mark, ^+1. PG is entitled to his opinion, but it's time for him to back off. The odds of Cold (gee I accidentally misspelled that- I like it- Cold McCoy) being on the roster opening day are only slightly higher than that of Josh Cribbs.

We've gone the "college highlights don't mean squat" route a couple of times, "Pro Scouts and GMs think Cold is a backup at best". But he wants to believe McCoy is our ticket to the Super Bowl. Well, I'd like to believe every chick in the SI swimsuit issue wants to call me up for a hot date.

OK PG, WE GET IT- YOU LIKE COLT, WE DISAGREE WITH HIS TALENT LEVEL. IIRC, RICHARDSON WAS GOING TO BEAST OUT, TIME WILL TELL ON THAT ONE- DOUG MARTIN OUTPERFORMED HIM, IN CASE YOU DIDN'T NOTICE. TELL YOU WHAT, SHOULD COLT WIN THE BROWNS STARTING JOB, I'LL APPOINT YOU OFFICIAL BOARD GURU.

And if he doesn't win the Browns starting job....he has to shut the hell up about his very creepy and extremely gay love for Browns players.

The last time people became freakishly obsessed with a back up QB, we had to kick them out so they could start their own board.

Fortunately, it only seems to be three or four people who don't see colt for what he is, so I think we can hold on ... but it is actually making me want to see them sign Kolb and dump Colt just to shut up these dudes. And I like Colt.

I don't know too much about Kolb, but I'm hoping he doesn't have a lot of "moxie". When the backup QB has "moxie" it is a living hell around here.

I used to like him too...but when you have one person who can't see past the fact that he just isn't good enough to be an NFL QB, it's really and truly annoying. I'd trade this yutz for Ghoolie's nonsense any day of the week. At least Ghoolie can be funny every now and this.

This goober is just plain stupid.

I am starting to believe that the "G" in his user name should stand for Ghoolie, Poetic Ghoolie, because his obsession with one player is getting to be almost Ghoolian proportions. At least his diatribes against Kosar was semi-entertaining. Poetic Ghoolie's zealousness in defending his man crush is kinda sad, borderline creepy.

I think we should just change his user name to slap dick and be done with it.

  • Been saying it for over a year. Colt will be starting this next season. Continue to talk all you want... The people in here are like the last coaching staff -- need removed.

Colt's a player.... noodle arm this and that, but the guy has intangibles. You guys lack knowledge when you use that "noodle arm" language. Makes you sound ignorant.

Using a widely regarded opinion of NFL personnel and coaches makes us ignorant.

    Got it.

When Colt leaves, are you going to as well?

Sometimes we think PG is a prank, just fucking with us. Then we smacked back down to reality. And now Rooster Dick.... Colt will be the starter next season? What the hell is wrong with u guys. Colt is a likable guy, but that doesn't get the ball down the field faster than 15 miles an hour.

Correction, I believe he's throwing 50+ MPH on his fastballs.

Only problem is that they land at the feet of his receivers.

Unless we're looking at college highlights again.

But Ryan Leaf put up some great numbers in college too. How'd that work out for everyone?

  • Face it the Browns have not had a legit QB since the Bernie Kosar years!

Charlie Frye had intangibles too. So did Brady Quinn and Matt Leinart and Vince Young. How are their careers working out? Intangibles with a lack of NFL talent doesn't win shit.

We have rooster dick and slap dick leading the Colt McCoy bandwagon...

Very true...Kelly Holcomb put together some pretty good games for about 3/4 of a season but he couldn't stay healthy.

I think you've lost your damn mind. Kelly HOLCOMB?!!? πŸ˜† Ahahaha!!!! πŸ˜†

Seriously, Colt in 2011 had no team around him and he had 1000 more yards through the air and 200+ on the ground compared to Kelly's best season of his career!!! Wow, man. If I'm slapdick, you're tunapussy. πŸ˜†

Seriously, Colt is the best QB we've got and the best chance for us to do ANYTHING at all next season... might as well get aboard now before you're termed a bandwagoner or worse tunapuss!

Hmmmm..slap dick..were you even born when we played in the playoffs in 2003? Kelly Holcomb 26-43 for 429 yards, 1 INT, 3 TD in Pittsburgh in the playoffs in the snow. When was the last 400 yard game Colt had in his career? You talked about McCoy "piecing up teams" when he threw for 74 yards. That stat line slap dick is truly piecing up a defense. The problem is that the Steelers carved up our prevent defense otherwise who knows how that season would've gone.

Holcomb could never stay healthy which is why he never played a full season. Other than Derek Andersons magical run a few seasons ago, Holcomb came the closest to winning the Browns a playoff game. All Colt lead us to is a lot of losses and field goals.

The question is when Colt gets released or traded are you going to go find another team to root for like Lumbergh?

  • Lol tunapussy...

poetic g just started reading an article i think you should read ill post it tomorrow its 8 pages long though. Might put some things in perspective for you.

i'm really starting to believe that PoG is a 13 year old. i mean the personality cannot be that of an adult.

he reminds me of a child that has a temper tantrum when he doesn't get a toy when his grandma takes him to kmart.

  • I was on here a long time ago saying that Colt would be the guy and still think he has the potential to be the guy somewhere in the NFL. I'm not saying he's gotta be the guy in Cleveland, because I think Brandon Weeden has gotten himself a bit of a leg up and is a solid quarterback. He's intelligent and certainly has a good arm. Whether or not he has the ability to run the offense, time will tell. I really only came on here, though, to talk to one issue. . .this whole thing about having a "gun" or a "big arm". I promise you that, while it is important to have range and zip on your throws, what is EXPONENTIALLY more valuable is accuracy. That's why I still like Colt. He is sound technically, although 'm sure he'll continue to work on his mechanics, as all quarterback do. But he can put the ball in a tight spot and that's so important in the NFL. I think that's more important than having a big arm. That's just me. He can also create plays with his feet and is a solid X's and O's guy. I think he can really lead an offense, better than Weeden, when it comes down to it. But, when it was put up or shutup, he didn't produce. And that's the way it goes. He burned his bridges by having his dad go on air and mouth-off, then his brother did the same shit. That kind of stuff said alot about how Colt felt, even if he didn't say it himself. I appreciate that he was a man of God, but your actions and the actions of the company you keep have to reflect that. His own family was trashing his team. And yeah, the Browns have bungled a lot of shit at the FO level, but that's still your team. So there's that. Then, Colt IS undersized and injury prone, so that's another possible liability. You have to consider those things. I don't think Brandon Weeden is a better QB, but I do think he is a more durable quarterback, with the backing of his FO, and with a bigger arm. Hopefully Colt can get his shot somewhere else because I think he's still a great QB. my two cents.
