The Browns Board

  • Pollard to the Titans

    Reed to the Texans

    Jennings to the Vikings

McClain given permission by Raiders to seek a trade --> I wouldn't mind offering a 6th or 7th for this guy - he'd beat out either TJ Ford or Gocong for a backup ILB spot. Neither of them were going to do much long-term for us anyway.

Cribbs failed his physical in Arizona because of a partially torn meniscus.. Is he still under contract to Cleveland or not?

Dumerville is now taking FA visits.

    Munnerlyn resigned with Carolina.

Ben Watson signed with the Saints.

    Brandon Myers signed with NYG.

  • Browns are hosting Kellen Davis TE from Chicago today...

I get the feeling they're not getting Fred Davis TE, and they already lost Brandon Myers

I'm assuming offensive FAs are not looking at Cleveland very highly b/c of our unconfidence at the QB position. These players know QB is the most important position on the offense, and I'm thinking they're not sold on Weeden throwing them the ball. Reports had us talking to Edelman, Myers, F.Davis, and Brandon Gibson... but none have panned out yet.

I'm still waiting to hear about Grimes, but usually the farther away it gets from a visit, the less likely they sign so it's not looking good.

We despirately need to add talent to the CB position. If we can't get somebody decent through FA, then the #6 pick will certainly be Milliner... assuming he's still there.

And OLB, and ILB, and S, and OG, and QB, and FB....

Has to be BPA.. I haven't seen any reason to expect Milliner not to go to DET

  • Dawson's replacement? Harvard Rugland.....

"While Dawson was on the conference call -- something he initiated so he could address the fans and media here one last time -- the Browns were already trying to fill his enormous shoes. They brought in "Kickalicious," a Norwegian trick-shot artist named Havard Rugland, who's seeking an NFL contract. But it was just a look-see, and it's highly doubtful they'll sign him. "

  • Browns signed 5'9 cornerback Chris Owens, 26 year old former 3rd round pick of Atlanta, 3 career ints

    Brendan Leister ‏@BrendanLeister 6m

Chris Owens has experience in the slot and at LCB. Worst game of his career came at RCB in 2010. Gave up 17 catches on 20

ESPN had him rated only the 54th best cornerback available in FA. His Atlanta teammate, Brent Grimes, who I thought we were after was rated tied for #1.

    So? WTF is up?

He's just a body to compete for nickel, dime spots in camp. third round pick, must have some talent , worth a look.

    Zombo

  • Browns signed TE Kellen Davis from Chicago to a one year deal to compete with Cameron and Barnidge.

  • This was about 5th down the list after googling him, maybe we should take a look at Chris Rainey too... thin line between love & hate. πŸ˜†

NFL Player Allegedly DESTROYS Ex's Apartment

Atlanta Falcons cornerback Christopher Owens is under investigation in Georgia for allegedly smashing up his baby mama's apartment and dousing her most valuable possessions in bleach ... TMZ has learned.

    http://www.tmz.com/2011/06/14/atlanta-falcons-christopher-owens-police-report-bleach-attack-georgia-gwinnett-county/

  • So this season we signed a coach arrested for driving through a fast food restaurant drive thru naked and drunk...lol

A defensive lineman who ripped a guys door off its hinges drunk and probably high on bath salts.

And a defensive back that destroyed his gfs house and poured bleach all over her shit... fucking Lombardi is turning us into the Bengals lol

  • In addition to Grimes who was rated tied for #1, CBs still out there include DeAngelo Hall and Quentin Jammer both rated tied for #1, and Awesomewha...rated #2.

It seems they want to go after guys in the 24-28 ish age range and aren't too keen on 29+ that want high contracts.

  • My linkAnother LB coming in today for a visit. He has been a promising reserve in his 4 years with Dallas....Hmmm...

Also of note: Eric Wright is likely to soon be cut loose by the Bucs. Remember him? He had a 4 game suspension last year for performance enhancing drugs thus enabling Tampa to release him and owe him nothing. They want to trade him but are unlikely to get any takers since his salary for this year is over 7 million. Another possibility for browns at CB2. He is 27 so he fits the age range desired.

I've said it before. He would be a huge upgrade from anything we have now.

He was garbage with us. He was garbage with Detroit. He was garbage with Tampa Bay. And he had a bad attitude/off the field issues the whole time.

    No thanks.

    NOPE!

  • Wright was actually pretty good in 07-09. It was in '10 when he started getting beat regularly. Must have been because he changed from number 24 to 21.

You are probably Wright, but it would be an upgrade in terms of talent, he was a bitch though. Look at his INT's and pass defended, he is not garbage. He is an all or none CB, agreed, pass.

He's unreliable at best. He is the definition of a boom or bust CB. He either makes the play or gets seriously burned.

We don't need a prima donna asshole who barely helps. If he was such a contributing member he wouldn't have passed around between three teams before he turned 27z
