Browns trade back this year? looks like that's the smoke screen blown off our war room... so who approaches us with the right kind of offer if we do want to go back?

The most likely scenario is if Dee Millner is off the board at 6 we trade.

I might deal with and feel comfortable enough to make the deal with is the ... Dolphins give me your 12th and 42nd pick you can move up to 6 only deal I'd personally entertain.

The problem with the Browns, in the past, it didn't matter who they picked in the draft(what round, what #, how many?), bottom line their picks were awful!! Let's hope that changes with the new "regime".

  • The Browns have been looking at alot of tail end 1st Rounders what is the possibility of the Browns trading down with the Vikings and picking up the 23rd and 25th pick??

They KNOW what they are doing.

I wish the draft would come soon. It's going to be very excellent. Chud rules.

let's not get too far ahead of ourselves in the sense that we know this new regime is 'great' and that 'they know what they're doing' and 'chud rules!'. don't get me wrong, i love the opptimism. i like the attitude haslam brings. i think banner will be better than holmgren (who couldn't be). and yes the on-field staff looks vastly improved from last year. but the sad fact is we've seen this all before.

they've got to prove it to me....in personnel decisions, talent evaluation and on-field discipline and execution.

by the way cal when i went to reply to your post your code is all over the place. what you are doing is highlighting one sentence at a time and choosing a font size and color. you should get your post typed out and formatted the way you like then highlight the whole thing at once then choose your font/color/size in one step.

The restaurants and fast food places in Berea are all going bankrupt since Holmgren left however.

  • I think there are a lot of teams that want to trade down. From what I've heard, there aren't a lot of teams that want to move up unfortunately.

  • Yeah this is a shitty draft, I don't foresee a lot of movement. I don't think anyone will move up just for a tackle or a LB. could be wrong

That's what I've heard from nearly everyone on the draft. All the teams drafting high would love to move back but none of the teams drafting late first round want to move up.

  • I've seen ZERO proof of any offer from another team.

Just because we want something doesn't mean that other team wants [or has any obligation] to trade with us.

Would Miami or Minnesota or St Louis' picks be useful? Sure. But remember, those teams also went through multiple years of suck getting to the point where in the 2013 draft they'd have multiple picks to make their teams better.

The top 2 at each of QB, WR, RB, CB, TE in the 2013 class are not as good as the same from 2012.. and not at all as good as the NFL leaders at that position. Safety and OL and DL are so deep that the teams with multiple picks can afford to see who's available at their desired position -- because the dropoff between the guy who's available at 6 and the guy who will be available at [insert team here]'s first round pick is miniscule.

Janoris Jenkins, who went in the second round last year, is a better player than Xavier Rhodes. I would not trade back from 6 if CB is the desired position.. Milliner is at his best not as good as Gilmore, the second CB off the board last year.

I don't think we will trade back because the 2013 draft doesn't have a superstar who will be available at 6 and clearly excel in the league.

  • With The Bills getting Kolb and Palmer maybe going to the Cardinals. Those teams are not valuing these top qbs as much. If there is a draft trade up to get Geno, its going to cost a pretty good penny for a team to trade with us. Dont be surprised if we do go Geno.

Geno's ceiling is Ryan Tannehill.. and he is only marginally [if at all] better than Weeden.

By way of comparison, I'd take Brock Osweiler over both Matt Barkley and EJ Manuel. If we want to take a QB to groom, hopefully Glennon can actually improve his accuracy/ball security..

As for Geno being Tannehills ceiling. Cant disagree more. Tannehill was a pretty raw prospect coming out of college with not a lot of starts and was a converted WR. He was also coached my the Dolphins new OC, so there were some ties there. Dont get me wrong he may be good though. Geno is not as raw, and has a pretty high ceiling himself. As obvious as it looks with the FO wanting a new QB to call their own, Geno very well could fall to us, making it a tough decision for the FO. I personally want D of course. As for Osweiler comparison, I would agree more on, But if we do trade back, and land a second rounder. Then Manuel would also make sense for them.

Proof is absolutely not some dude not affiliated with a team tweeting. I have anonymous sources too - and they say he's wrong. Think: "nfl draft insider" earns money when he posts unfounded rumors like this because he drives views [read: Ad revenue] to his website. Naturally, there's exactly zero information about this on that website.

Besides, exactly what is a "preliminary" talk? Either they're talking or they're not. How could they be communicating without talking? Sexting their man-boobs to each other?

It's April Fools Day and you believed a random tweet with no supporting documentation?

As I said before, zero proof.

  • LOL Do you really think you are gonna hear a GM or Coach come out and give direct word of priliminary talks of a draft trade?? Come on now you will never have that hard evidence that would take to convince you. Off the record is the only thing you will hear until draft day after the trade.

  • I think the Steelers are interested in moving up, particularly for C. Patterson (WR). It's hard to tell what Patterson's stock is right now, some mock drafts have him going before 10 others have him falling to or below the Steelers (at 17). The Steelers probably have some degree of interest in Milliner (currently be selected by the Browns in many mock drafts). I'm not sure about Pittsburgh's interest in Jones/Mingo (OLBs). I don't think the Steelers would pay to move up to #6 or so for either OLB. My guess is the Steelers would trade thier #1, #3 and a #5/6 rounder to move up to #6 overall. I don't think they'll give up their 2nd rounder as I'm guessing they probably want to get Te'o with it.

Shrike, if you had show up just a couple hours earlier I would have given you the Steelers in the Browns Board mock draft. Instead, a newbie with one post ever on here said he wanted a team, so I gave him the Steelers.

Do you want to be his backup in case he turns out to be a no show? Only deal, in the mock draft there are no trades like anything you suggest here.

The Browns ability to move up or down will depend on someone wanting Geno Smith or one of the top flight DE/OLB prospects. Either way, no team is going to move more than 3-4 spots, that's all but certain. I think the Eagles are by far in the best position to move down if Geno falls. However, with Carson just now being traded it be time again for the Raiders to take a tall black QB with its top pick. That is of course unless they believe Pryor is the next Steve McNair.

  • The Raiders are going to get Matt Flynn so he's going to be the new starter there I would think. I just read that the Dolphins might be a team that is looking to move up and they have 2 picks in the 2nd round so there's still hope for a trade down.

I agree Geno Smith could factor in a early trade but moreso I think an OT will be a factor. Alot of teams need Oline help which is one of the browns strongpoints.
