And sometimes QBs get overrated. I am using CBS Sports draft prospects rankings and they have Matt Barkley as the best player still not taken. But that rating of him, to me, is way, way off base. Someone here might like him, but if Colt McCoy dropped to the third round...appropriatley, then this guy is a 4th-5th rounder...imo.

  • Great value pick there with Taylor.. I think he goes in the first to the Pats in the real draft..

If he doesn't post soon, I'd propose slotting Cincy with Ogletree, LB, Georgia because Ogletree is the best LB prospect on the board - and the Bengals are so bad that they resigned Maualuga, who was by far the worst starting linebacker in the NFL last year. Note that Brown is an OLB while Ogletree is an ILB. Ogletree has vastly superior instincts and run defense when compared to Te'o. Yes, Te'o is a playmaker in pass defense.. but Ogletree is as well, and Ogletree had 3 sacks each of the last 3 years.

Ogletree's skill set is comparable/equal to Kuechly from last year's draft class, and Kuechly is already being called the prototypical NFL MLB.

But I'm just in the cheap seats until Gipper forgets the Texans pick again this round..

He will have at least until about noon tomorrow to show up. If not, we go with your pick.

Movin the Chains did their mock draft today and Pat Kirwan traded up into the end of the 1st to take EJ.. Hes forgot more about football than I know

  • Typical Browns lost his slot again. The pick of Alec Ogletree will stand for the Bengals.

Royce Rolls is on the clock for the Cards.

  • Ogletree would be one hell of a steal there

  • The Arizona Cardinals select Ryan Nassib, QB, Syracuse.

  • Well, as I stated the Jets three biggest needs were QB, WR, and OLB. Taking OLB in the first round, the logical choice would be a WR. However, based on this draft there's no WR or QB worth taking. That falls to the next biggest need, OL and specifically OG. With that being said, the choice is easy:

The Jets select Larry Warford, G Kentucky.

Warford is one of those guys who just does everything well but nothing spectacular. You can't find a major fault in his game, and he started basically all 4 years at Kentucky. He can play either Guard spot and is rumored to have ability as a back-up center as well.

  • Kent Life is on the clock for the 40th overall selection, 8th in the second round for the Tennessee Titans.

Per CBS Sports, these are the top ten prospects on their board not yet selected (using their overall prospect number):

    25. Matt Barkley QB USC

    26. Menelik Watson OT FSU

    32. Eric Reid FS LSU

    33. Jessie Williams DT Ala

    34. Kevin Minter LB LSU

    36. Margus Hunt DE SMU

    38. DeAndre Hopkins WR Clemson

    39. Arthur Brown, LB Kan. St.

    42. Terron Armstead OT Ark. Pine Bluff

    44. Quinton Patton WR La. Tech

    45. Jonathan Cyprien SS Florida International

    This is the second round.

  • I wonder if Barkley falls to round 3 - would the Browns be interested? In real life I mean. Or will Someone like Arizona be looking to get a project QB to sit behind Palmer?

  • KentLife has until 11:00 AM to make his pick. It is now about 9:45.

This has been going a lot slower than I anticipated....this started on April 1st and it is now April 15th (yes, I got my taxes done yesterday, lovely way to spend a beautiful Sunday)

and we are only through 7 picks of the second round, and the draft starts in 10 days.

After KentLife's pick....which, if he misses I will make, I am going to impose a 12 hour rule.

If whoever is on the clock doesn't get their pick in in 12 hours I will make it for them...or one of you can jump in if I am late...as long as it is not close to your own pick.

    Absolutely not. Barkley < Weeden.

The two WR's at USC during his time have been Woods and Marqise Lee. Lee will be the #1 or #2 WR in next year's draft. Barkley will have a pro career indistinguishable from Matt Leinart.. the only reason he's rated highly is because he's had #1 draft picks on the OL and at WR, and good RB's. As a prospect by himself, Barkley simply doesn't have the arm of an NFL starter.. and to compensate for that, he makes terrible decisions.

I am tired of seeing all these idiots mock QB to the Browns in round3 when we could grab a long-term starter at SS [this year's safety crop is the best in a decade] or OG with that pick. No qb's are available who are even equal to Weeden in this year's draft.. so it's simply not smart to waste a pick. If you're drafting a QB this year, the only thing you can possibly assert is that you're HOPING that prospect will magically turn into something. Why, exactly, do you not apply that same hope to Weeden?

IF you are certain the Browns are going to grab a QB, give them Tulane's Ryan Griffin in the 7th round. I don't think they'll draft a QB this year.

  • I agree, I don't particularly like the idea of us taking a QB where none is needed, and we have bigger holes to fill. Just thinking along the lines of new FO -> new QB. We all know Lombardi isn't exactly sweet on Weeden!

conventional wisdom doesn't always apply -- he may not love Weeden, but Weeden is better than every FA and draft-eligible player.

  • KentLife let his time lapse.

With the 8th pick in the second round, the Tennessee Titans select:

    Eric Reid Safety LSU

The Titans biggest needs were OL and DB. They got Chance Warmack in Rd. 1, and with this pick they help their backfield needs.

Brownsnmopar is on the clock for the Buffalo Bills. (deadline is 11:00 pm)

Followed by CD115 for the Dolphins

  • With the 9th pick in round 2 # 41 overall the Buffalo Bill select:

Zac Dysert QB Miami of Ohio...after going Defense in round one the Bills draft there Franchise QB

Compared alot to Ben Worthlessburger (SP) Dysert has the size and skills for Buffalo weather!

The biggest surprise so far. Many think that Dysert will not go until round 4-5. Here, early second round.

    CD115 is on the clock.

Has til 6 AM or until I wake up.
