I agree also. I still can't get over adding a solid young veteran WR without giving up a player or pick. Impressive IMHO.

They're certainly not worse, but Ill reserve judgement on the overall impact until I see these guys play.

On paper, they've made minimal improvements.

Gotta love the fact we have:

    a) Gordon: The Deep Threat

b ) Little: The Intermediate with YAC ability

    c) Bess: Slot and reliable route runner and pass catcher...

Plus Nelson, Cooper, and Norwood, who all might make the team.

    d) Mingo: Speed Rusher

    e) Kruger: Power OLB

    f) An atleast DECENT in Leon McFadden corner who has to be better then the way Skrine played last year.

Our team feels so much more complete. And who knows what we might get with our remaining 5 picks on Saturday. OG, FS, TE, FB, K? or a QB?

Side Note: FS is needed for sure, but I'm sure many of us feel that Gibson is capable to be starter.

Exciting day to be a Browns fan.

But many other teams have improved, too. In our division, the Bengals are having a tremendous draft and are distancing themselves from the Browns. Baltimore doing OK, too. We're doing better than the Steelers, though. Nice to see the Jets draft Kent State's Brian Winters in the third round.

Bengals took a safety from Georgia, Williams, I would have liked to see on our team. But the other Georgia safety, Rambo, is still there! Take him if he's available -- a stud athlete.

Obviously the Bengals have done well for themselves, they had 3 picks in the first 2 rounds. It's going to be hard to compete with that. Honestly, I'm happy they went with Bernard and not Ball.

i"d rather have benjamin than Norwood.

    Benjamin completely slipped my mind...

I compared his size to Norwood earlier, only with the elite speed (when Zombo knocked on us possibly acquiring Davone Bess, claiming Norwood is our slot guy)

this is what I thought when I read the thread. I'm not happy at all with the first round, third was decent, and the dolphin trade was ok. I know most of you don't like the pessimism, but I think Mingo should have been a late first rounder, and there were several players that were available at 6 that would have helped much more

No one has "improved" until these guys see the field. I remember last year having to hear about how the Steelers stole the draft. How did that all work out for them? Come the 1st week, all their top guys can be suffering from injury, leagal troubles, or just trying to show the talent their teams thought they had when they were drafted. Same for our guys too. No one knows if they "win" until around year 3. We won't know who is ahead in the 2013 draft game until week 1.

The fans of nearly all teams think, hope, and/or wish their teams are better and until the season starts everyone's the next Super Bowl champs. There's only a few teams that will be listed as losers in this draft (last I checked it was Dallas and Buffalo competing for worst draft). I really like the Bengals selection in Tyler Eifert, and I love the selection of Arthur Brown by the Ravens. Part of me says the Steelers draft would've been way better had we taken both of those two. Then again, I prefer offense in the early rounds while we have an elite quarterback to take full advantage of them. Pittsburgh could've picked up another 3rd round draft pick trading back with San Francisco and we could've still had Justin Hunter (the reciever I really liked in this draft). Jarvis Jones would've probably been a top 5 guy if teams weren't worried about his stenosis and a top 10 guy if he'd run faster at the combine. He put alot more on tape than Mingo, but Mingo does have alot of speed.

Until this draft I did not realize how "close" we were to greatness...

    Especially on offense...

lol, this is hilarious. Short term, yeah it kinda sucks. Long term, we won this trade. But hey, we traded with the Steelers, therefore we suck.

If we continue to operate on long term plans, we'll never see success. We are always building for the future when we presently suck.

For the record, I don't give a shit about this trade. I'm tired of seeing good teams get good players and we continue to take shitty ones.

SF didn't need a RB, and they take the probably the most talented one in the draft in the 4th round. Meanwhile we reach for an undersized DE when there were still very good ones on the board in the third, and then take a CB from a basketball school who's really done nothing. Then, with a run on safeties happening, we trade out of our spot to a division rival and get no compensation in this draft for it.

So, as it stands, we still have no starting FS and no capable LG. The ineptitude exhibited so far in this draft is bordering on ridiculous.

What the hell are we doing. We're a bad team and we've made two picks in the first 140 picks. This is dumb as shit. They better know something about some late gems.

We traded a 4th and 5th this year for a 3rd and 4th next year

With the picks in this year's draft we've added

    Mingo - OLB

    Gordon - WR

    Bess - WR

    McFadden - CB

We aren't going to fill every hole that we have. As such, the most glaring holes are at G and FS.

    We gave up a 4th for a future 3rd. We gave up a 5th for a future 4th.

    We are in good shape.
