And next year we'll give up a 3rd and a 4th for a future 2nd and 3rd, then a 2nd and 3rd for a future 1st and 2nd. And then everyone will be fired and the new regime will come in and trade our two firsts and two seconds for a handful of 4th and 5ths.

    Repeat ad nauseum.

lol, yes, we'll never actually take a pick. Right. But yes, there's a real chance that we get a new regime if Jimmy goes to jail.

Cant make everyone happy. We didnt trade 3 draft picks to move up 1 spot on rb at #3 we didnt draft a qb in the 1st. Everyone bitched about that last year. We drafted some much needed depth with quality players. We got Bess for nothing and we also have Gordon out of this draft. We are adding 3rd and 4th rounders next year in a draft that is projected to be a shit ton better then this years.

Seems like we draft for depth every year...were good at it..yet...continue to lose..LOL..the FO blows horse balls...

Yep, we are so used to losing that no matter what the FO does we dont like it. Its a new regime and this is what we have to work with. You are either going to except what they are doing or be a fan that already hates our team before we play a down. Once again, you cant make everyone happy.

I'm starting to really like last year's draft... 🙂

I mean we selected players and everything...

  • What the hell are we doing. We're a bad team and we've made two picks in the first 140 picks. This is dumb as shit. They better know something about some late gems.

I'm trying to think through this reasonably. I really can't! The perplexing thing is why spend all that money for free agents, giving us all the impression you want to win in 2013, then do almost nothing in the 2013 draft, telling everyone this draft stinks when it apparently doesn't to nearly every team and every expert talking about it.

What's apparent to me is that Lombardi and Banner are simply writing off the 2013 season and will use all those draft picks next year as bargaining chips to move up and get a franchise QB. But given the fact that the Browns have absolutely nothing at free safety and in the #2 cornerback positions, teams will just throw to receivers going against those inept Browns secondary players -- Browns improved QB pressure or not -- and run up and down the field and the Browns may, in fact, end up with the first pick next year anyhow because all the other teams have improved so much more than the Browns in this damn draft!

I have never liked Mike Lombardi. That view was reinforced today, a day that started out hopeful for so many Browns fans and has disintegrated into total despair. I doubt Tom Heckert would have traded with the Steelers, and I believe Heckert would have done a better job with this Browns draft than Lombardi did. Rooting for the Browns is nothing more than a tragic comedy, isn't it?

It's possible. But there's not much left to choose from.

I'm sure Rambo will be gone by then.

Rambo's not even that good. His coverage skills are questionable. I'd rather get Evans out of Florida.

Banner: "So Mike, who should we take with the first pick of the draft, we're sitting at 6 and are in position to take a really great player"

Mike: "huh? What? Sorry I was ah... taking a nap. Long night of coking it out last night; man that prostitute that Groves recommended was amazing"

    Banner: "Mike?"

Mike: "oh sorry, right. What now?"

Banner: "What's your view of who we take in the first?"

Mike: "Let's get the guy with "BARK" in his name. That'll make a cute story on ESPN and the "puppy pound" or whatever it's called will love it... I'll be a freaking god in Cleveland for years to come!"

Banner: "Well you know Mike we don't have a second rounder and we really need a cornerback opposite Haden... and a FS, and some Lineman... and a FB..."

Mike: "This one time, in band camp... er I mean in Oakland, we took a guy that had the last name McFadden, wow was he fast. There's this corner with the exact same last name, not expected to go until the 5th round, nobody will anticipate that we'll take him in the third. THAT'S WHEN WE STRIKE!"

    Banner: "Can he play?"

Mike: "His last name is MCFADDEN."

    Banner: "Right, okay. Then what?"

Mike: "I heard that trading down was trending on twitter, we'll just do that the rest of the draft."

Banner: "Okay sounds like a plan their my boy, my buddy Lombardi- always one step ahead of the rest. I guess we don't need this draft board right?"

Mike: "Flip it over and prop it up on a couple chairs, get the cards and some beer, call Chuds and tell him to bring the hookers! It's gonna be a long "draft night"."

    Banner: "hehehehehe"

With the defense we're likely to be playing, our corners are going to be asked to be on islands most of the time.

A good roving safety would be a welcome addition, and that's what Rambo is. He's not good in coverage, but he is a ball hawk.

So... FS or QB at 175? Maybe a guard?

I don't see us drafting a QB. Word is that we're very interested in Brian Hoyer.

Seems any QB who was behind Tom Brady is good enough for us.

Why has Rambo lasted this long? thought for sure he was a 3rd prospect.

I always thought he was a reach in the 3rd. More of a 4-5 prospect. I am surprised to see him in the sixth though.

Yeah, I watched the press conference with Banner and Lombardi and they said they were "going to sleep". I think they may still be sleeping. What a fucking waste. Heckert was forced to take Weeden, that seems like a Shurmur and Holmgren call to me personally. We all need to write the Haslam and force his ass to bring back Heckert and drop this fag Lomdumbi
