I gotta think Smelly beats out Marecik and I'm thinking slaughter gets shelved for a year. I imagine we are bringing in another veteran offensive lineman to compete with those guard spots and back up at tackle.

You got K. Davis in twice....as TE and WR. You must have another name in mind. Also, there will be a 3rd string QB, be that Thad Lewis or another name.

I think Braxton Cave over Butler perhaps.

I think someone said that he could also possibly be a long snapper. That could open up a roster spot. Too bad that a spot has to be take up with just that position.

A backup OL that could long snap is actually a nice asset to have.

And I agree about Smelley over Marecic.

The WR is Keenan Davis, an UDFA out of Iowa, the TE is Kellen Davis.

I would hope Smelley beats Marecic, but I have read reports that Marecic has bulked up over the offseason and looks more like a true FB (hopefully he learned how to catch the damn ball)

Plus, the Browns just signed Rashad Butler yesterday, who would make a nice backup tackle; however, I agree he will be competing with Faulk and Cave for a spot.

Oh, OK, though I don't necessesarily see him beating out Norwood or Cooper.

Missed the Butler signing. Good depth if he can stay healthy.

True. He has the talent to do it, just not sure if it will pan out. Norwood has been hurt a lot, but he is the last WR if he can stay healthy. We could stash Cooper and Davis on the PS.

So far it looks that way for 2013!

Cave will make the roster instead of Greco or Miller due to his ability to maul in the run game and back up Mack if needed.

I wonder if they'd just move Sheard inside to one of the ILB spots - he's 255, bigger than DQJ and faster&quicker than each of the other ILB. That would significantly increase their ability to cover in space / rush from that spot. No reason to play JMJ/Fort/Robertson unless necessary.. put your best athletes on the field.

Seriously. Get Maresuck off the roster. Now

Or any of the other UDFA WR for that matter.. Extreme under performer.

Agreed. I can't believe he wasn't cut last year, but this regime, just like the last one, must see something b/c they did not address the FB position at all... yet

Maybe they saw something in Smelley, or are thinking of just not using a FB?

I think Marecic is already gone, isn't he? I see Faulk making the roster as backup to LT and RT, Cave as backup C, Gilkey as back up G to Lauvo, and maybe even starting at some point. The WR from Iowa definitely has a chance, but what about Norwood? Is he gone? I think he's better than Davis from Iowa.

Also, keep an eye on Tannahill, the first team all Big 12 TE from Kansas State. They say he catches the ball petty good, as opposed to Davis and Baldridge, although he didn't get many balls his way in the KSU offense -- not a knock on him, though. He's a great blocker and appears to have average speed.
