Josh Gordon Suspened Two Games
-
I've read it's either Gordon for failing a piss test, or Tj for PEDs. It is confirmed that its a significant starter that will miss the first 4 games. I'm hoping its Dez Bryant with his pending legal issues, as we have enough depth up front to survive 4 games without him. If its Gordon or Ward, tere goes the start to our season...

I don' get it. I may be wrong but I thought latest NFLPA contract included language stating players are given advance notice of
urinalysis screening. Now you gotta be pretty fcking dumb if you can't pass a drug test WITH a WEEKS NOTICE>
I need some gin and juice....

I love how Haden pops up in the front of the article

Bryant wasn't on the practice field.
With the Browns, it's always one setback after another, no matter who the coach is. Let's pray it isn't Gordon -- that would be disastrous to the the season, like Haden's missing all that time to start the 2012 season. I thik the Browns can deal with a Bryant absence OK, due to depth at the position.

Benching Gordon would not be good -
It's dez bryant, not at practice, chud gives no reason why

Chud said he's dealing with "a legal matter." Maybe the rumors came from that?

Yes he did. He said it was a legal matter. And even if he was suspended, he would still be at practice. Him not being at practice has nothing to do with a suspension. How this rumor got started is that someone said Bryant was gone because he was dealing with a legal issue, then someone retweeted it and said they smelled a 4 game suspension coming, then someone retweeted that statement claiming someone was going to be suspended.

Nobody would ever tweet something without verifying and substantiating it first!
If it's on the internet, it must be true!

BREAKING: Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has been suspended 2 games by the NFL for violating the league's Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse

Josh Gordon suspended two games for substance abuse violation
By Will Brinson | NFL WriterJune 7, 2013 4:18 pm ETWhen writing about the 2013 Supplemental Draft earlier on Friday, I noted that many expected a breakout season for Browns wideout Josh Gordon. That notion took a big hit on Friday when news popped that Gordon was suspended two games by the NFL for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.
The wideout, who was listed as one of Pete Prisco's 2013 breakout players, will be fined two extra game checks as well. Tony Grossi of ESPN Cleveland first reported the news.
"Josh Gordon of the Cleveland Browns has been suspended without pay for the team's first two regular-season games of the 2013 season and fined two additional game checks for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse," an NFL spokesperson said in a statement.
"Gordon will be eligible to return to the Browns' active roster on Monday, September 16 following the team's September 15 game against the Baltimore Ravens. Gordon is eligible to participate in all preseason practices and games."
When the news broke, several NFL writers expressed the notion that it wasn't that big a surprise to hear of Gordon's suspension; Adam Caplan of TheSidelineView.com noted that the Browns have been "privately concerned" about Gordon "for months."
And then there's this from Grossi: apparently Gordon would've faced a much longer suspension if college drug tests counted he'd be in real trouble.
That's not stunning, though. Gordon admitted to failing three drug tests while in college at Baylor and subsequently at Utah.
This is the very reason the Browns took a big risk when they selected him with a second-round pick in the 2012 NFL Supplemental Draft.

Well that is unfortunate.

WTF is wrong with these idiots? Professional athletes, potential to make big money and be famous. Then they do something idiotic like this. I say cut the dumb ass and let him wait tables.

Fucking god dammit and we're losing him in a division game. Fuck.

Thanks for saying what I was thinking. I'll add "dumb, dumb, dumb". And I sit close enough to the field to tell him myself.

You mean cut him to get picked up by another team? He's our number 1, undoubtedly.
Gordon just let down way too many people. Hopefully its enough to steer him away in the future

This is bullshit, the rules and laws regarding pot need to be changed now. Wake up America! Fucking get a clue and stand up to this outdated bullshit of a prohibition. It's about Goddamn time that we stand up to this bullshit. If drinking is legal then pot must be as well; and if pot is illegal then booze needs to be as well, you can't have it both ways, motherfuckers!
