Bon Jovi To Kick Off Browns' Season?

As you can see- you're not exactly winning a whole bunch of friends here. πŸ™‚

Personally- I think we're going to do better than 5-11, competent coaching alone will do that. The Browns were close in a bunch of games last year, until Shur-loss pulled defeat from the jaws of victory.

BTW, Bon Jovi is an improvement over The Beach Boys that was done a few years ago.

& You're behind the curve. I already said the extra 3rd, 4th we got are ammunition in case Weeden flops and we have to go after a qb next year. However, you'd rather rail that the picks we gave up this year were going to become sure-fire starters. I got 2 words for you- Owen Marecic.

In their prime, I will take the Beach Boys 10 times over Bon Jovi....but even a few years ago most of the Beach Boys were dead....so they could not have been all that.

& I won't- different strokes for different folks. πŸ™‚ If I actually had to pay extra money for the Beach Boys concert I would have been POed. They were OK mood music way back when.

But the majority opinion here is why completely flush the Browns season down the toilet before it even starts? Hey Skeptical- there's some of us here who have plunked down $$ for season tickets- for years. Howie and G-man fly in from England to catch a game. If everyone had your attitude, the stadium would be empty on Sundays- that is until they start winning. Dammit, even then, it's not going to be enough for some sourpusses.

Nope, I'm not thinking Super Bowl, but another top 10 draft pick in 2014- I'd like to think not.

So really Scep- STFU already we don't have "quality depth" in the defensive backfield. There isn't a team in the NFL that goes 47 deep at every position. In case you didn't notice the Eagles 2012 season went in the toilet when they didn't have enough QUALITY DEPTH on the offensive line when 2\3 of them got injured, cost Reid his job too.

If Bon Jovi plays before the opener I will be there and be happy that the Browns promotion department is attempting to do something nice to give back to the fans. Would i rather see AC/DC or Metallica sure but it could be a hell of a lost worse than Bon Jovi. Or we could get nothing.

It's not the opener, it's in July, like a kickoff concert. Michael Stanley, too, which made me go on Spotify and play some of my favorites. Wow, I'm old. We played MSB songs in my band!

Tommy used to suck on a cock.

    Bon Jovi is gay.

  • I'd rather Bon Jovi than someone like Kanye. At least something like Livin' on a Prayer will get you somewhat worked up before the game.

    they both suck.

get trent and the boyz from NiN up there to scare the shit outta people.

    that's an improvement.

The team is trying to generate a buzz. Nothing wrong with that.

Even if I lived in town I wouldn't go, but I would imagine they should pull in a pretty good crowd.

Bon Jovi baloney. Where's the Zac Brown band? Why not West Side Steve?

Brad Paisley ?Alabama, dammit ? Play me some country.

Although, I do really like one of his songs - Jennifer Nettles makes it work:

Well, Freddie Mercury was gay and was one of the greatest singers of all time. So, since I have never had any intent to have sexual relations with any of these people, I kinda ignored all that stuff and just listended to the music.

Though, I guess it would a bit disheartening if you learned that Beyonce or Shakira were gay.

Though, I like Melissa Etheridge well enough, and the Indigo Girls....and they are.

The difference between Freddie Mercury and Bon Jovi is that one made good music while the other is a long haired queef from New Jersey.

Like you said, everyone has his/her tastes. Bon Jovi, to me, is just all right. Nowhere as good as his Asbury Park brethren, The Boss and Southside.

Well, there's a first time for everything. Somebody just called Bruce Springsteen a piece of shit. The guy who raised so much money for 9/11 responders. Because he's, uh... "liberal." Not sure what he's done to become a "piece of shit."

If you don't like any liberals, doesn't it get hard to like music, movies, or television? Maybe you should just love everybody, not just the ones who share your exact politics?

We've all become way too political. You'd think we were Italy, choosing between fascists and true socialists. The space between reasonable people of either party in the U.S. is slim and none, relatively speaking. But keep standing up for polarization and hate!

"Immigrant's Song" with Karen O, from GWTDT. Unbelievable.

Living on a Prayer seems to be one of the quintessential rock ballads of the last quarter century plus. Couple months ago I was at the local

college (Ohio Wesleyan) watching a Division III basketball tourney game. At halftime the PA started blasting this song and the place went

absolutely nutz. You had 2000 young underclassmen who were not even born when the song was released singing along at the top of their

lungs. hell, man, even my young boys know the chorus to the song. really can't think of too many other tunes with that level of staying power. I

don't think Bon Jovi is a pillow biter, but he is always contending for metrosexual of the year award.

I actually liked Bon Jovi's comeback album that was kind of country. "Lost Highway."

It's interesting to give serious thought to the best rockers of all time as one walks the corridors of the HOF and sees the exhibits.

Many of you probably never had the chance to see Elvis, but he was an incredible performer. In terms of best all around -- singer, stage performer, songwriter, et al -- you have to put Bruce Springsteen at the top, in my view. Freddie Mercury certainly deserves to be near the top of the list.

In terms of rock groups, Pink Floyd was amazing in concert when they did The Wall. Most disappointing group live in concert: The Moody Blues. Best group you never heard of: Blood, Sweat and Tears. Cream was also amazing. with great talent like Ginger Baker, one of the greatest rock drummers of all time.

Bon Jovi puts on a good show. Well worth your effort to go see him. He's got some great songs that you just keep humming. At least the Browns can make a good selection for a rock show.

The good news is that it's very clear to me Lombardi wasn't involved in the decision or the musical act selected would probably have been crap, like his drafts.

    Good. I mean like, whatever.

Clint Eastwood is a conservative pos. Does that mean a "liberal" shouldn't like his movies?
