  • Again, the league we play in... which is why the Browns and Mingo are both saying he's good to go at 240. Quickness off the edge trumps playing the run by miles and miles these days.

In fact, after the guy who throws the ball, the guy who hits the guy who throws the ball is the most important player in football. Well... or the guy who stops the guy who hits the guy who throws the football (LT).

Yeah, size only matters on the OL. I had a chance to meet TJ Ward @ one of our Browns Backers dinners, and the first thought that came into my head was- there's no way a guy that small can deliver those kind of hits on a football field.

Well he really has not been leveling the big hits since he blasted that dude from Cincitucky....but I get your point and agree with you 100% Point being you dont have to be a fat blob of goo to play good D and frankly I would take fast and high cardio dudes to play an up tempo and wear the competition down

  • Let's hope Mingo develops into a pass rusher with more than one move, unlike the "freekish, super fast, next LT" Kam Wimbley. His one and only, dip and try to run around move, got old fast.

  • just means he can get to the QB faster.

i'm drooling at the prospect of that dummy QB he rails through being flacco or BR.

    nitey nite!

    These "scientific breakdowns" are useless.

A couple years ago they broke down John Skelton and claimed him to be better than John Elway based on his reaction time and arm strength.

dude i was just throwin somethin up there that some of us might not have already seen. i don't think anywhere in the report or in my statement did i say it will be a 'fact' that he'll do better than LT.

i'm just glad the guy signed, is motivated to show somebody somethin and the way he busted up that practice QB in that video was hilarious!!!! looked like he disjointed every part of the upper body.

    no. MINGo the MERCILUS.

(if you're older than 40 you'll get it.

most of us went to see it stoned and hear the queen soundtrack.

terrible movie. but hilarious after a couple of the iced-downed 3 layered acrylic bong hits.

where is the camera man taking the picture from outside his apartment.. through the window?
  • Hi, new member, LSU Tiger fan, a Mingovian (disciple of Barkevious Mingo) who wants to watch his development in the NFL.

Here are a few tidbits you may not be aware of, Mingo did not play high school football until his Jr. year, he was a track runner, and very good at it.

In fact, you may be surprised to learn that one of those state champ sprinters was current Tigers defensive end Barkevious Mingo of West Monroe. Mingo, now 6-5, 240, anchored West Monroe's state championship Class 5A 400-meter relay squad.

He also ran a leg on the Rebels' second place 1,600-meter relay team, was fifth in the 200 (21.85) and sixth in the 400 (49.54).

    http://www.nola.com/lsu/index.ssf/2012/01/four_lsu_football_players_won.html

He can't do that any more after gaining 40 pounds, but I still see sprinter speed underlying his game. I hope you enjoy him as much as we did when he was in Baton Rouge.

I never heard of him getting in any trouble, either.

  • One other interesting fact, in 2009 Barkevious Mingo was voted "best name of the year"! LSU fans had "something to do with that"!

  • Mingo's a blur. Browns drafted the right guy. In the top 10, I'm big on QBs, pass rushers, left tackles... and after a drop off, a true #1 WR. The rest, the guy better be epic... or you trade down.

  • Dude looks lean at 240 lbs on tv footage. Should he put on 10 - 20 lbs?

    About the right range...

And 240 must be his "program weight"... Looked more like 230 in 1st pre-season game...
