Here is some trivia about uniform numbers. Mostly Browns, a few general NFL:

    1. Per the Pro Football Hall of Fame website, which number has been worn by the most Hall of Fame players?

    2. Per the same, a Hall of Fame player has worn every number between 0...or OO and 99 except for 5 numbers, and 3 of those are in the 90s (90-94-97). What are the two numbers between 0-90 that have never been worn by a Hall of Fame player?

    3. Which 5 numbers have been retired by the Cleveland Browns, and for whom?

    4. Here's a gimme from the previous question: #76 is retired for Lou Groza.....but #76 was at one time also worn by another Browns Hall of Fame player. Who?

    5. #17 is most famously known as being the number of Brian Sipe. Name 2 other QBs who have started at least one game for the Browns who also wore #17.

    6. Name a Browns starting QB that wore each of the following numbers:

    #9

    #8

    #6

    #5

    #3

    #2

(note: I have found no QB that has ever started a game for the Browns that wore #4 or #1)

7.A For this question number 7, there have only been 2 QBs who have started a game for the Browns who wore Lucky Number 7. One is Bruce Gradkowski. Who is the other?

    B. Besides the above, there is a HOF QB who played for "Cleveland" who wore #7. Who?

    8. Two people who are in the Hall of Fame and who played for the Browns wore #44 for the Browns. Who are these two?

    9. Brown HOF OG Gene Hickerson wore #66. Who on today's Browns roster wears #66?

    10. The #60 was at one time worn by both Browns HOFers Otto Graham and Bill Willis. Who on today's Browns roster wears #60?

    11. Jim Thorpe was the founder (or one of them) of the National Football League. Which uniform number, appropriately, did he wear?

    12. #32 is retired by the Browns for RB Jim Brown. What other Hall of Fame Running Backs also wore #32?

#22. Worn by 11 players: Blanda, Gatski, Bob Hayes, Haynes, Krause, Bobby Layne, Lofton, Smith, Wehrli, Nevers, Michalske

                        2. Per the same, a Hall of Fame player has worn every number between 0...or OO and 99 except for 5 numbers, and 3 of those are in the 90s (90-94-97). What are the two numbers between 0-90 that have never been worn by a Hall of Fame player?

#43, and #69. Yes, I found it surprising that 43 would be one of the numbers.

                        3. Which 5 numbers have been retired by the Cleveland Browns, and for whom?

                        14 Otto Graham

                        32 Jim Brown

                        45 Ernie Davis

                        46 Don Fleming

                        76 Lou Groza

                        4. Here's a gimme from the previous question: #76 is retired for Lou Groza.....but #76 was at one time also worn by another Browns Hall of Fame player. Who?

                        Marion Motley

Note: When the Browns joined the NFL in 1950 their players had to conform to the NFL numbering system, so many guys, including a number of their HOF players has to switch numbers. e.g. Otto Graham switch from 60 to 14. Motley switch from 76 to 36. Groza switched from 46 (later retired for Fleming) to 76. Bill Willis initially wore 45, later retired for Ernie Davis. Gatski, Lavelli, Ford all also switched.

                        5. #17 is most famously known as being the number of Brian Sipe. Name 2 other QBs who have started at least one game for the Browns who also wore #17.

Todd Philcox and Jake Delhomme also wore #17

                        6. Name a Browns starting QB that wore each of the following numbers:

#9 Charlie Frye or Thad Lewis

                        #8 Trent Dilfer

                        #6 Seneca Wallace

                        #5 Jeff Garcia

                        #3 Anderson/Weeden

                        #2 Couch

(note: I have found no QB that has ever started a game for the Browns that wore #4 or #1)

7.A For this question number 7, there have only been 2 QBs who have started a game for the Browns who wore Lucky Number 7. One is Bruce Gradkowski. Who is the other?

                        Appropriately: Terry Luck

                        B. Besides the above, there is a HOF QB who played for "Cleveland" who wore #7. Who?

Bob Waterfield wore #7 when the Cleveland Rams won the 1945 NFL title.

                        8. Two people who are in the Hall of Fame and who played for the Browns wore #44 for the Browns. Who are these two?

Leroy Kelly, of course most everyone knows wore that number,.....but also HOF Head Coach Don Shula did too when he played for the Browns.

                        9. Brown HOF OG Gene Hickerson wore #66. Who on today's Browns roster wears #66?

                        Shaun Lauvao

                        10. The #60 was at one time worn by both Browns HOFers Otto Graham and Bill Willis. Who on today's Browns roster wears #60?

                        Ryan Miller, the concussed one.

                        11. Jim Thorpe was the founder (or one of them) of the National Football League. Which uniform number, appropriately, did he wear?

#1. Also, for some part of his career he also wore #21. As perhaps you know he played for 3-4 different teams, including the Canton Bulldogs and Oorang Indians.

                        12. #32 is retired by the Browns for RB Jim Brown. What other Hall of Fame Running Backs also wore #32?

Marcus Allen, OJ Simpson, and Franco Harris. The other HOF player to wear #32 was End Red Badgro.
