Read this board for a long time. Pumped for the season. Ghoolie is a fat fuck waste of life.
I don't get why anyone cares what little nerds like greenjew, who have never hit a homerun or blew someone up in their lives, think about a mans game. They can chirp all they want, but their opinions are worthless.
We're a solid team, our starters are sincerely a top 6 grouping in this league. Our depth isn't too bad and as most good teams our season hinges on Weedhead. Reviewing last year, his highs were high and lows were low, but that's typical for a rookie. In this offense, Weedheads offense, he should be good to go. Ive never bought the hype before, but this will be a fun year.
Fuck some shit up Brownies.
Everyone's opinions on the subject of how they think teams will perform in a season is worthless. The only thing of worth there is how they actually do....and you read the standings for that. That said, all the predictions are purely for entertainment purposes....and that is all G&G do, entertain.
In fact, your opinion and my opinion are equally worthless on all subjects associated with the Browns. Nevertheless, we welcome yours....and if you continue to read on, you will, almost certainly, have to put up with my worthless opinions in the future.
Nevertheless, I do share your opinion, I think, if I have interpreted it correctly...and urge the Browns to "fuck some shit up".

Golic (who has "done it") pretty much aced his AFC preseason predictions exam last year. He picked pissburg as a wildcard team over Indy which was his only miss.

BTW, 3L = third year law or three time loser?

From my recollection, you were a magistrate, Im a 3L myself. My point, none too profound, is that it's impossible for myself, as a student, to ever appreciate the intricacies of the legal profession. As it's impossible for talking head nerds to ever properly assess the NFL. Most aspects of life require a certain amount of doing for one to ever fully grasp them.
I personally have never played the game (being british and new to the sport). I'm picking it up, but it'll take years, probably decades, but hopefully in time I'll be 'fluent'

You're just mad Golic never gives his hometown team any love.
Just think of all the Steeler love if his son survives the final cut.

Here is how Mike and Mike predicted the AFCN in their two a days feature:
Greenberg:
Bengals 7-9
Ravens 8-8
Steelers 7-9
Browns 6-10
Golic:
Bengals 10-6
Steelers 10-6
Ravens 9-7
Browns 7-9
Golic thinks that this division is one of the strongest inthe NFL. Greenberg thinks the opposite.
Golic thinks the Steeler's defense will flourish once again, Greenberg thinks not, that it has gotten old and lost key components (like Jame Harrison)
Both think the Browns will be improved, but not enough to make a push for a .500 record.
Both think the Ravens have lost too much leadership from their team.
Both think the Bengals should win the division.

How could both think the Bengals will win the division, when Greeny had the Ravens with a better record, or is that typo?
When you look at it on paper, there's no reason for anybody to pick another team other than the Bengals as winning the division. They've made the play-offs the past two years and have had no key free agency departures. The Ravens have had alot of leadership loss and Flacco's two key wideouts (Boldin and Pitta) are not on the team this year. The Steelers haven't faired better. While their defense has been ranked #1 the past few years, that's a bit of lie. The defense doesn't turn the ball over and they still give up the big plays over the middle to the top QBs. Pittsburgh's recieving corp has downgraded, though it appears the run game will be improved this year. Cleveland appears to have a stout defense lined up for this year, but the Brown's still don't seem to have much offensive firepower. I also don't think Lombardi really cares for Shurmur and the Browns will likely join next year's coaching carosel.
In terms of the division, other than Cincy, I'm not sure if another team can make the play-offs this year. Teams suffer injuries every year and injuries to Ben Roethlisberger the past two years have cost Pittsburgh any hope of advancing in the play-offs in 2011 and any chance of reaching the play-offs in 2012. Flacco has to step up to a new level and Harbaugh is facing a daunting statistic to maintain his consecutive play-off streak. If Weeden steps up this year, the Brown's could overtake the Steelers and Ravens. I'm not really sure what to expect this year other than, I just don't see Pittsburgh making the play-offs in 2013.

Are you really giving some sort of division preview and you have no idea who the coach of the Cleveland Browns is?

On paper it really looks like Cincitucky is poised to win the AFCN with the losses and aging of Pitt and Balt....but just when you think they have the talent (of which they have plenty on offense as well as D-line) to make a deep run in the playoffs they fall all over themselves. This should be a really interesting season with us making some strides for contention in the very near future

A. Golic gives him home town the "love" it is entitled to, in the sense of he does not carry rose colored glasses for Cleveland's team.
B. However, he does carry rose colored glasses for his kid and Notre Dame....and those glasses were apparently being worn when he made his prediction on the Steelers.
(besides that....what chances do you give his kid to stick around? My prediction: taxi squad for him at best)

Actually, I think it was my mistake. I guess I was just presuming he picked the Bengals to win because Golic...and eveyone else has.

Well, then, you agree with Greenberg.

Right. The Bengals under Marvin Lewis are indeed a roller coaster team. When you think they should be peaking, they plummet.
As good as their talent seems to be, can we really say that they are plummet proof?
I mean, riddle me this: The Browns, with Shurmur coaching, beat them once last year. And the major factor in the Bengals beating the Browns in the game they did was the absence of Joe Haden.
Based on that, Is there any reason to believe that the Browns are not capable of sweeping the Bengals? I think they are capable...though that is not a prediction.

Oh, yeah...I guess I forgot about that memorable coaching change to Chud this off-season. I wish I could say I was drunk or something when I wrote that post. But in all reality, I'm not really going to remember your coach's names all that well unless they start winning...cause they just won't be around long enough. I'd probably think Lerner was still running the team if he wasn't for that Steelers mole called Haslam.

Generally, I type my thoughts out really, really fast and post. Then I read it quickly and promptly re-edit it for several spelling/grammar errors. As I was writing my mind wondered to the question "who the heck is Cleveland's coach again?" The first name that came to mind was Shurmur. Then I thought, nah, they changed that guy I think. So, I didn't feel like doing an internet search and went with my first thought. I reasoned...Shurmur's only been there one year, they have to be giving that guy the customary second chance despite kicking out the entire front office staff when Haslam took over. Lastly, I don't feel there's any reason for me to use my anti-entropic powers to correct that little minor mistake.

Dude ... you said ... "I don't think Mike Lombardi really cares for Shurmur."
Mike Lombardi was hired after Pat Shurmur was fired.
It would be one thing if you said "Pat Shurmur is the coach" ... but you gave an opinion on how our GM feels about a coach he doesn't work with.
You are dismissed.
