I, too, hope they're both alright. . . but I SERIOUSLY HATE when players lead with their helmet to the other player's head. It seems to happen more and more each game, and more and more players are getting serious concussion, neck injuries, paralysis. Yet they keep doing it. What is it, they don't know good tackling fundamentals, so they try to knock them out so they can't go anymore? It's dangerous for the players doing it, and it's even more dangerous for the players not expecting it. It's cheap, and they need to keep it under control before someone gets killed. I'm not picking on the Steelers, players around the league are doing it. Even Sean Jones and Brodney Pool (Pool keeps giving himself concussions by leading with his head).

I'm done venting. Way to ruin a good game.

It was should-to-shoulder. There was helmet-to-helmet contact though. I do agree with you and I don't want to argue on this thread.

I'm glad you agree on the concept, but you've got to be kidding me on the 'shoulder to shoulder' deal.

Taken on my TV on pause. Note that McGahee's head is already leaning back (after contact), and the shoulders are just starting to touch. Regardless, he's leading with his head. Where are his arms? Certainly not making an effort to wrap up the ball-carrier, which would be the best thing to do. He's relying on his helmet (and shoulder) to make the tackle (or highlight film).

  • I agree. Way to play music over the loud speakers while McGahee is down.

    Stay classy Pittsburgh

Shoulder to shoulder my arse. I dont know whether Clark meant to but it was helmet to helmet before anything else. Hopefully both ok obviously.

Please rewatch the hit. The initial contact was should-to-shoulder. I feel its inapropriate to argue on this particular thread.

    Seems ESPN disagrees:

I'll bet the Commissioner does, too.

You don't want to argue because you're wrong. Stop trying to defend the indefensible, especially when there is video evidence.

Notice that no one has claimed it was a purposeful hit.

  • Fooleze there you go again using facts, you know those are no good!

  • Dirty Dirty Squeelers. Always trying to get ahead by cheating. All of America outside of Pennsyltucky will be rooting for the Cardinals.

    GO ARIZONA!

  • GAWD, do the Browns fans ever stop complaining?

They are the best losers in the U.S.

  • I heard a Steeler Fan yell. "I hope you Die!" while McGahee was entering the tunnel on a stretcher.

Oh, and we're not arguing, we're correcting your mistake.

Bro, you have been on a Cleveland Browns message board all day today, including during your AFCC game.

I just did on NFL Gameday. Clearly was helmet to helmet.

Clark did try to lead with his shoulder by turning his body, I don't believe he was intentionally trying to be dirty, but it was a helmet to helmet hit.

The game announcers even said he was clearly shoulder-to-shoulder.

  • I heard that a large bladed knife landed near Mcgahee as he was being carted into the tunnel. It landed only 18" from his stretcher.

  • STONER STFU! don't sit there and play innocent, ask tommy maddox about how classy steelers can be or the lady who hit ben. all teams have fans that go over board but don't sit here and say classless Browns and classy steelers. any way STFU and get off the Browns board or I should say the Cardinals board, for the next two weeks. and go celebrate with your own fans.

Simms said that at first, but corrected himself later. The NFL Network crew (Eisen, Deion, and Mooch) talked about it being "helmet to helmet" and Sanders said it was a legal hit. The hit was legal, even though it, most assuredly, was helmet to helmet.

  • All i have to say is that Willis was not laying motionless. He was moving his arms and his legs something that was confirmed several times by Phil Simms. The hit wasn't dirty and I'm not sure how anyone should make a tackle while running at full speed or near full speed. It was a helmet/shoulder combination and both guys went down. Guys just aren't throwing themselves around with reckless abandon, they do try and protect themselves and Clark determined that was the best way to make the tackle. A flag was not thrown and it won't be deemed a dirty hit now or a week from now.
