Are you saying that since we allow gays into the military, the military will be weaker? or just in general that Obama hates the military and is making it weak?

I think/know that letting openly gay people in the military will weaken it. I don't think Obama hates the military, I just think he is incompetent. I spent 22 years in the military and still have many connections and I can tell you it isn't a pretty picture.

proven by his past actions.
Including saying he needed his own civilian security force. Yes, it is weakening

Correct, I never served personally, but you also have to realize the war of tomorrow is not the same as a war of yesterday. If a large war would actually break out tomorrow a lot of the "fighting" will be done by people miles away from the front lines using cutting edge tech(from drones to cyber warfare) supporting the ones in the fox holes. I would much rather have the best person for the job sitting behind the PC doing that, and also in the fox holes, and not just well is he/she straight? If you make laws and rules that make it hard for someone who is not straight to enjoy a quality life that while serving their country then you may lose out on a few good recruits.
People fear change, military personal are no different.

If you have to travel a significant amount just so you can get married then that would seem pretty hard to do without any time off. Once gay marriage is legal across the US this will disappear and it won't be an issue.
