  • Glad to see Schmidt lasted 3 days since his signing on the 28th. No wonder the travel expense account is skyrocketing.

Lanning probably cemented the job by filling in as placekicker the other night, that versatility could come in handy.

Graham's pregame back strain cost Schmidty dearly. Lanning had some monster punts to go along with his field goals.

  • With Gordon out for two games and Nelson cut ("just not ready to play"), we are actually a little thin. Bess hasn't been practicing for a while now. Guys like Cooper and/or Gurley are gonna be on the roster.

But our hugest hole is at backup running back. As in, Jackson sucks and we don't actually have one. Can't say right guard because both Cousins and Gilkey have played well and Pinkston and Lauvao aren't out for very long.

Corner looks a little disturbing because McFadden has sort of sucked playing out of his normal style (he's a pure man-to-man cover guy who started about 48 games like that in a passing conference). My only reason to relax a little there is Owens and Skrine have both played well, Owens has been dinged, and both Gipson and Bademosi can step up and cover big WRs.

I expect at least one trade and a few waiver signings.

  • I figure the Bears won't cut that smallish rb that played against us well...

but if they do, I'd sign him to replace Dion Lewis this year in a NY second.

    Maybe trade for him.....

  • Jonathan Dwyer, come on down? Too obvious and logical?

  • Slim pickings for available RB'S. Who's the best of the worst?

Browns RB trade bait likely to come from LB or DE if at all

  • Wow, Gurley cut.

    LB JMJ

    Bogotay

    DL Sanford

    DB Slaughter

    WR Roosevelt

  • Graham and Slaughter cut.

  • I'm upset at the Gurley cut. He's more reliable than Nelson (cut), a better physical specimen than Norwood (cut) and has more upside than Cooper (somehow still on the roster).

Would be a good practice squad player if he clears.

  • @MaryKayCabot: #Browns cuts: OL Aaron Adams, DB Akeem Auguste, K Brandon Bogotay LB Justin Cole, RB Jamaine Cook DL Hall Davis

@MaryKayCabot: More #Browns cuts: WR Gurley LB JM Johnson, WR Nelson WR Roosevelt, DL Brian Sanford, DB Slaughter, LB Staples.

  • Her second tweet is filled with some practice squad talent.

  • We currently have no Kickers on the Team.

  • Lanning?

Graham says adios to his 15th NFL team. Some career this guy has had

  • When Nelson was announced cut, I thought Gurley Man was making the team. Obviously they are bringing in a veteran instead.

  • Glad they cut Graham Cracker, we can find a better young leg than that Bungle who can't kick over 50 yarders.

  • Who will be our Kicker???

  • Who will be our Kicker???

This is pretty strange this late in the game.

  • Havard "Kickalicious" Rugland! We know he can be extremely accurate, is a younger guy(will be 29 in Oct.) and from what I saw has a damn strong leg. With some good coaching IMO he could be an all pro kicker and if this mgmt. group is serious about building for the long term, why not? Could be our next Phil Dawson.

  • Ah 6 days before the season starts, our team is "hitting the waiver wire hard" to add talent to the roster and it has no kicker...Super Bowl or bust! 😕

  • Can Tebow kick?
