I'm gonna have to respectfully disagree with him.

I think Hoyer has the Team in hand right now, though it is good to see some drive from Weeden on a Leadership front.

I have NO problem with him believing that and saying that. It would be more worrisome if he didn't.

Whether Hoyer stays #1, I don't know...but if he does I still want Weeden in there pushing him.

Hoyer is not proven...even after 2 wins. Hopefully the competition elevates the play of both of them.

    (and what about Campbell?)

You want him to say it... but I'm afraid it's borderline funny at this point.

All the while Campbell is probably thinking to himself 'man you mean I get $1.5 million for this!". He's got the best damn job in the NFL right now.

I've got nothing against Weeden, really. He worked a lot in the last 12 months to become the QB he clearly was not on 2013 draft day. He made some remarkable improvements (considering how bad he was when he had that embarassing outing vs Philly in week 1 2013) but he's definitely not there yet. I've got strong doubts he'll ever be an NFL QB. Having said that, we owe him the respect you should give someone who tries hard. But he's burnt his chances pretty badly. Now the team is Hoyer's. And let's hope it continues like the first two games.

The thing I sort of take issue with is his thought that it was EVER "his" football team. I've rarely seen a guy with LESS leadership ability.

Wheezy is saying what he needs to say. Who knows, Hoyer gets a boo boo and goes out or starts to suck, and Weeden will get another shot. What he does with it will be up to him. I have to imagine that there are at least a few teams who would be interested to give him a 2nd chance in "their system." What's he supposed to say, "Gee, I blow donkey balls and don't give a fuck anymore." Josh Freeman is doing that right now, and we see how that's turning out for him.

I respect him for what he said. He obviously CARES & that's a good thing...it's the attitude that results in TEAM. If Weeden does need to play again, I want him to come in with a good attitude & his words say he will.

    Famous last words, lol.

Honestly, he is starting to come off as desperate and selfish. I don't re all him ever saying anything to indicate he puts the team above himself.
