Anyone Enrolling Today in Obamacare? What are your thoughts?

A tragic outcome of this new law is that a lot of employers who have over 50 employees are reducing employee hours to 28 hours per week so that they are not required to provide Health Care. My wife is one of them. Being retired military I lost my Tricare Prime coverage due to a new requirement that you must live within 40 miles of an MTF (Military Treatment Facility). So now I have Tricare Standard which is significantly more expensive in co-pays, fees, etc. I guess the savings are going to the unemployed and welfare who don't work so that they can fund there FREE health care. Sounds fair huh?

No doubt about it Osiris. Americans, regardless of political party, usually love free shit. To be completely honest if I get better care for less money I'll be happy to take it regardless of how fair it may be or its effect on the big economic picture. That is, of course, how societies implode. Here you guys go, from a source many Republicans trust:

Cysko were you able to get into the Marketplace yesterday and that's how you know what your premium will be for you and your family? I have done the training and certification to work within the Marketplace, but yesterday was so busy I wasn't able to get into the site. I am just wondering how you know the premium amount already. I hope to get in to the website in the next few days to see what the premiums will look like. I don't however believe that your premiums will be that low, I hope they are, but I think they will be higher than the public is expecting. Can I ask what state you live in, and also if currently your state can base it's rates on medical underwriting?
-
can you steamline coverage - plans to fit your individual or families needs?
I dont need pregnancy / OB gyn etc...
in fact maybe all I want is a "major medical" plan - one that is for catasrophic expenses.
Believe or not people - we had such coverage plans eons ago.....
ACA is a play for a single payer system. When costs are no different today than they were last January, or
more expensive next January, then the same folks who cannot afford insurance, will pay the IRS fine instead of buying insurance.
Then when the wonderful marketplace dreamy plans are exposed for what they arent , the govt will be there to take over.
And eventually the HC insurance industry goes by the wayside.

All the plans are required to have the Essential Health Benefits, and they may vary by state, but they include: Ambulatory Patient Services, or doctors visits, hospitalization, mental health, substance abuse and behavioral health, rehabilitative and habilitative services, laboratory services, maternity and newborn care, prescription drugs, preventive, wellness and chronic disease management, and pediatric services.
I don't believe you will be able to streamline for your needs, for example by buying a plan without maternity, even though you don't need it. But maybe I will be pleasantly surprised. You are supposed to be able to buy plans to fit your budget, but what they will cover is yet to be seen. The lowest grade plan, or the "bronze" plan is supposed to cover 60% of your medical bills (after monthly premium payments), and on up the ladder.
The problem is the fine is very low right now ($95 or 1% on your annual income), but will increase every year.

thanks Gidget for the info

1. This author isn't the "source".... Alan Colmes has been on Fox for a long time, as well
as Bob Beckel, and others.
2. There are good things about ObaMaocare, but there are a lot of bad things. All they had to do, was
create the subsidized insurance program to give those who don't have insurance, insurance. That's all.
But this gigantic boondoggle interferes with our entire medical system, will cause millions to LOSE their health insurance,
lose hours, full time positions....
As for making premiums go down, well, I don't buy it. Making our med insurance accept pre-existing conditions, etc. etc,
won't make our premiums go down. Anybody who has had a basic economics class should know that cost inflation
will apply. The biggest problem with this bill, is the over-reach. Taxing medical devices? Really? That's stupid.
But, they will nab every fee, tax, fine, premium out the wazoo to try to fund it. And it can't be afforded.
And unions are realizing, all too late, that it is going to screw them up in bad ways. Haha, stupid union democrat sheep.
But, that biggest problem? Privacy, and under this marxist regime - even Dr. Ben Carson, after his seriously honest
comments? The IRS went after him. And, the dirtbag who is now "retiring" of the IRS? Targeted Tea Party and other
conservative groups.
Try being a conservative, gun owning, republican, and watch the insurance denials. I trust that to be true, based
only on the use of the IRS as a political brown shirt org of sorts.
Surely just because some folks will benefit from the good parts, surely, they will admit this gigantic overreach
of control over our entire public has serious, serious damaging flaws. Figures, look who wrote it, and who voted for it
without reading it, or trying to understand what it was they voted for.
It's a political power play. I saw a WWII movie once, where the nazis were interrogating this person who was
not with their party....they brought up their medical information, and implied they could use it against her.
Meanwhile, extortion is the main game with Obamao and co. Even Reid went public with Beahnor sp? ??? 's emails.
They want this power, and they will do anything to get it.

So far I am into what, day 3 of trying to login, create an account and then compare plans... so far, I can't even complete my application. It asks for dependents and their information and then it asks if you want to add or change the information and I am just stuck in this cyber-ground-hog day. It just keeps looping and looping. Freakin' site sucks. How can they manage healthcare if they can't even get a site to work correctly let alone handle the amount of traffic it get's from all the free loaders. (I work, make a decent living. I'm just trying to see how this whole thing works).

Thats what you get when the Government takes over healthcare. A big cluster fuck.

haha, Steve. paybacks are a hillary clinton. @@
Our deductible went up to 1000, from 500, that's in-system.
Out of their list? The new deductible isn't the same anymore, it's 2000 bucks.
So, I'm thinkin I need to get a new knee this winter, probly' by an in-system
expert.
That is before Obamao's commie death panel says I am a conservative, so
I can die before they will grant me the insurance coverage for a new artificial knee.
Personally, I really think I want to wait about a year....but the evil, horrendous spectre of
ObaMao insurance genocide has me concerned..........
