  • God he's starting the rest of the year. Y u boneheads can't get this thru ur heads. We will draft a new qb next April. No more hoyer no more weeden no more Campbell. God I can't wait. Brown's fans are so fickle. NO ONE EVER GETS BENCHED FOR ONE PLAY.

I think it's the 13 losses ... most of which were winnable .... not the one play, which has everyone pissed.

I figured they would stick with Weeden. And we all know they are drafting a QB next year

It's just frustrating ... especially after seeing some real quarterbacking only to have it yanked away.

  • Yea cause we never seen a qb come in and tear it up for a short while just too come back too earth. You guys wanna put hoyer in the HOF go ahead. But WWWAAAAAYYYYYY to small of a sample size to crown anyone or call them a REAL qb. He beat a VERY VERY BAD defense. And he beat the bungles which the browns have had there number for years when u think about how bad the browns have been. And obviously he's an injury risk. First time he takes a ,won't even say shot, a guy falling over him he's done for the year. To much talent in next years draft to go with either one of these TWO SCRUBS.

I don't think anyone is anointing Hoyer anything. Obviously he has limitations.

But you could see he was more decisive and knew where he was going with the football, and went through his reads quickly and delivered the ball.

Weeden is slow, indecisive and makes critical mistakes over and over. That's why people don't like him.

It was more enjoyable watching a QB that "got it" even if he's not "the answer". He surveyed the field like a pro. I think we all miss that.

I'm sure these guys will pick a stud next year. Holmgren whiffed bad on the two QBs he drafted. It's getting old ... we are tired of it. We want better play from the position. We realize we will have to wait for that.

Hoyer may not be the answer but he got this team behind him and was a true leader. That's something Weeden will never do. You really think anyone in that locker room has his back after that softball pitch on 1st and 10 when the Browns still were in the game?

You honestly can't tell me you didn't see a vast difference between the two QBs either.

Only in Cleveland does a fan call a QB who actually won some games a scrub.

Chud is right, Weeds wasn't the only making mistakes and the team as a whole has to play better. I just hope they eventually give up on this guy, unless for some reason Weeds makes that mental jump needed to play at this level.

True, Z... but it was the play that broke the camel's back for many.

Just saying what he has to say.

yeah I agree there must be something going on with Campbell personally that we don't see. I can't imagine any other team in the NFL coming out after that performance saying "we've lost no confidence in our qb".

I lost a little bit of respect for Chud for coming out party line on this one. Just don't talk about it. Don't get infront of camera's and act like everythings just fine we just have to "make some adjustments"

Been saying for a while that Campbell looks like a shot QB... no confidence... nothing left. And given the career he's had and teams/ coaches he's played for, it's not surprising.

You act like saying "we're doomed as long as Brandon is our starter" is an option. News flash! It's not an option!

Also half of this board has been talking about the lack of 2nd half adjustments since the final gun... so there's that...

  • You don't need to watch a quarterback for 10 games to see how he plays. One will do, actually. Three? You pretty much know who he is at that point, whether it's green and confused... or decisive and comfortable playing the position. Hoyer very much looked that latter in three games and the last preseason game. He never looked anything but so it's pretty conclusive.

Yes, he's limited, as someone else put it. He's short-ish with a medium (but not weak) arm. But he's smart, mobile, reads defenses well, a natural leader, and very accurate (everything Colt McCoy isn't but keeps getting accused of anyway). He can start in this league. I don't know if he's going to get another shot next year (he turns 29) but he might while the rookie figures things out. Maybe until the bye unless he goes all Drew Brees.

I can't fathom why Weeden would be on anybody's roster. He's neither young nor polished. He's nothing you want.

  • Maybe CLE should invest in some Weed Whacker...

  • Fact is, Brandon could go 24-of-36 for 398 yards and 3 TDs, 0 INTs with a win next week and then throw 21-of-34 for 293 yards, 2 TDs and 2 INTs in a loss and you will all say he's the worst QB in the NFL, should be strung up and kicked out of the league.

Mind you, we were only down 7, on their side of the field and it was 1st down with plenty of time remaining when Brandy uncorked that beauty.

All??? Kinda familiar for a 4-post wonder...

EDIT: He's not the worst in the league...

It's not the one play...but just this year lets compare our two QB's. One got the ball in the 4th quarter down 3 points on the road and drove the team to the winning touchdown. The other got the ball at home down 7 points and after a couple of nice completions, shit all over himself just like he's done time and time and time and time again in the last 13 losses of his career. How many times has he brought the team down the field to either win or tie a game late in the 4th quarter. Small sample size with Hoyer is very true but he has a 4th quarter comeback victory under his belt. I'm not sure Weeden has ever done it. Even Colt McCoy who I don't think his anywhere close to an NFL QB at least has one of those against the Dolphins a couple years ago.

He's not? Is there a team in the NFL that would trade their current starter straight up for Weetarded? The Bills don't count because their 4th starting QB of the season now that Lewis is hurt and they've signed Flynn. Who else would trade their starter straight up for Weetarded? I'm going through all the teams in the league in my head and I can't think of one team that would make that trade. Jacksonville...maybe...but even that is a stretch.

  • I was trying to tell you all that Colt McCoy would have been a much better option than Weeden. Yes, Weeden has a stronger arm, can throw the ball harder and further, is taller and was a first round draft pick... Bottom line is Colt McCoy is a better QB, he's smarter, he's younger, he's a leader that the team will play for and he can make plays with his legs.

Colt McCoy is essentially Brian Hoyer.

    Ugh. no. Hell no.

    and the last line -

    I just. I can't.
