Who *wouldn't* you take?

  • Of all the starting QBs in the league, who would you consider not an upgrade? And by starters, I mean the designated starter, assuming no injuries. I can only really come up with Henne/Gabbert and Schaub. Honestly, as bad as people like Cutler, Ponder and the rest are, they'd still be an upgrade over Weeden. Even someone like Geno Smith, with his failings, at least gives you a feeling that he's capable of winning games.

Which got me to thinking - would you trade for Eli? His value won't be lower than right now, and he's only going to go up. He's won superbowls, recently, so as long as everything else is right, he can be a top QB.

  • no one. weeds skill set ranks below any of the bottom feeding Qb's fighting for survival.

  • I would take every teams back up over Weeden

  • I'm pretty sure Weeden is the worst starter in the league. Maybe gabbert is worse. Eli may look worse right now but its just an illusion

  • did anyone ask chuds about shovel pass redux? tell me someone in the cleveland media asked him if/when the coaching staff was going to nip that one. Frankly i'd consider putting a taser in his jock at this point with the explicit warning that it goes off via remote control the instant they even "think" they're seeing him harbor the notion of spilling out to a side and pulling that one again.

  • Amendment: right now I would not take freeman if we had to pay him money

  • Mike Tirico practically came when talking about Ponder's "potential". Wouldn't be shocked if he landed on a team like CLE.

    Weeden>whoever's starting in JAC

I don't think we are going the retread route. It'll be Hoyer and a draft pick next year. These two clowns on our active roster will be long gone.

Yep, that looks like it's going to be the way forward. The coaching staff clearly thinks nothing of Campbell, and the FO and coaching staff must be hating weeden by now - maybe he's kept as third string since we have some sunk costs, and he knows the offense and isn't going to be a distraction - you think many fans will be calling for him after 5 games?!

It would be so, so nice for us to be able to draft a QB and not have to rush him in to starting game 1, let him sit for a year or two behind a competent starter and ease in to the team.

  • I wouldnt take anyone endorsed by Shep 😛
