Carrucci Article

Weeden is history after this season. Start Campbell. It can't get any worse.
-
Carucci is precisely correct. As bad as Weeden sucks, they have seen Campbell every day since he has been here and have no apparent interest in turning to him to guide this team. As he noted, like the Angel of Death in Egypt, they passed over Campbell to give the starting job to Hoyer when Weeden went down injured. And they went back to Weeden when Hoyer got hurt.
I reiterate: Weeden has the next two games against tough opponents KC and Balt. to prove himself. Then after they bye, if he doesn't improve, then the give the ball to Campbell
(or Vince Young...or Matt Leinert...or who knows)
-
There are three approaching-average QBs in Minnesota. Any one is probably better than Weeden. Matt Cassel for 8 games, anyone?

I dont think you can afford to keep giving Weeden the start anymore if there are any hope left of squeezing into the playoffs, Campbell has got to be put in. A career 60+% comp, and never a season with more Int than TD's is a lot better option that what we are seeing from Weeden.

That would be the case if the FO thinks Campbell were capable of performing that well (give a 60% compl rate plus more TD than INT ratio)....but apparently, they don't think he can do that.
Two games.

conspiracy thought...
maybe the other's in the FO put hoyer in just to shut up lombardi and quell down his hard-on for the kid. YET surprisingly he played good, thus giving fits to the others who wanted to tank the season given the TR trade.
BUT WAIT!! hoyer can't slide so let's go with our original plan and have weeden suck for the year enabling them to say weeden was not our pick, we must draft QB........
HOLD ON. if they do put in campbell and he does do well not only do they have to pay him more but then you'll have the ??????'s swirling around cleveland football base like why wasn't this done sooner i.e. leaving egg on banner's face once again.
ya gotta understand. other than JH's money shot on his chin, banner likes nothing else on his face......except a tweaked up bouncer, minor league football player from NC with a hot sweaty hairy ass.
right TCPO?

ESPECIALLY If they know campbell sucks why has this FO done absolutely nothing to bring in even an undrafted rookie QB after hoyer went down in essence leaving us in a cant win situation..
It smells bad to me..
Minnesota has certainly not spared a dime in their fruitless effort to find a winning QB however they have a mini farm of mediocre QBs some desperate teams may be interested in..
I would rather see this front office show us their uber scouting skills by bringing in some unknown, undrafted scrub with some unknown talent because right now i question this regimes ability to do anything but pinch pennies..
