and Alex Smith...

who are the crack talent scouts that said this guy doesn't have an NFL arm? I never had an opinion about him cause I barely saw him play when he was with the 9'ers. Watched him today and that arm isn't lacking. Like not at all. If his arm isn't as strong as Weedens it's got to be literally less than 1-2mph slower. And that guy can fucking run. And we could have had him this offseason. Yeah.

Alex Smith is a pure game manager. He made a couple plays today but that was because our D broke down on those plays. Did you see what happened when they put the game in his hands to seal the deal? He basically didn't do it and he's lucky that Bess fumbled the punt or else Cleveland wins today. We had all the momentum and had KC on the ropes when they punted.
Alex Smith is better than what we currently have on the roster but don't go making him into something he isn't. And please tell me how he has an arm as strong as Weedens? I didn't see any fastballs from him and he missed on two long balls that could have been TD's.

Yeah he missed some passes but I think that had more to do with our interior lineman having a beast day and being in his face all game long. This was our best pass rushing day all year and not just from the front line...the blitzes that Horton was calling today were spot on. Now about Smith, i didn't see him try to air one out 60 yds downfield so I only had his 20-30 yd passes to go on...and they looked absolutely no less than when Weeden throws those passes. He overthrew one of those semi deep balls that would have been a TD. For comparison i think Smith's arm is far superior to McCoys....might not be saying much but he's always been compared here to McCoy as just another "game manager". Well I'd take that game manager.....dude can fucking run too.

Yup... we got in Smith's head in the 2nd half, but he owned us in the first half.
Strong enough arm... good decision making... and some escapability.
His best decisions may have been not forcing the issue when things tilted our way in the 2nd half.
