  • You just have to understand that with Hoorta, every seat in the stadium sucks except the seats he sits in. 😄

Not really- In a perfect world, I'd be one section closer to the 50 and row 25. 🙂 Just never really cared for sitting in the end zone. Those seats are cheaper for a reason.

  • In Municipal Stadium it was fun to sit on the wooden benches of the Dog Pounds and watch the fights breakout, then go pee in the troughs/sinks/whatever.

  • I remember when I was younger. I went to pee twice and both time's Metcalf returns kicks for touchdowns. And I always sat behind a pole.

  • Used to sit in the "bleachers" in Old Muni before it was THE "Pound".

Anywhere 1/3rd of the way back or more got you high enough to see all the action.

But the pound ain't what it used to be.

I sat in the "upper pound" versus the Bills last year...

It really is not the Pound....

    That said...

I love end zone seating so long as I can get close to in line with one of the sidelines.

IMO there's no better angle for watching the game.

Want to watch the ball? Go for the 50...

So for me the upper pound, mid row or lower, is nearly perfect seating.

But as said... it is not the pound...

Wherever you sit... enjoy the game.

I had a friend who had pound seats....row 7 if I recall correctly. Even though William Green broke off his 70 something yard run going the other way, it was pretty damn exciting, and I saw all of it....then on the final D stand, it was right there in front of us

I agree. It's not the seat, it's the being there that counts. I am very content with the angle I get at the goalline in the club section....not to mention I can go warm up a bit if and when needed. I love being in the club....best move I made when it comes to seats.

  • I sit in section 149. The west end zone. I love my seats. I have no trouble seeing the game, even when they are at the other end. I can get in the stadium and be in my seats in 30 seconds. No ramps, escalators, just 10 steps. Plus my seats are in the middle of the row, so I rarely have to get up to let someone out.

  • Saw Andre Davis ' 99 yd TD from the upper pound. I like ethe seats personally.

Right. The "Dawg Pound" was closed when the old stadium went away and the bleachers with it. Sorry, but that is now nothing but the "north end" of the stadium.

  • Well, east end, but your facts are usually good enough to assume a brain fart....we all have them.....no biggie.

    Right. East. Oi.

  • No "Oi" needed....I know you meant the east

  • By the way, this past Saturday I attended a football game at the only other stadium in the City of Cleveland that hosts a football team that plays above the high school level.

As I have said elsewhere, my daughter is a cheerleader for the Trinity Univ. (of San Antonio TX) Tigers. The Tiger played a road game at Case Western Reserve Univ. saturday, and my wife and I went to the game to be surrogate cheerleaders for my daughter.

The school does not take its cheerleaders on away games except for one against a school about 50 miles away.

It is a nice little stadium they have there a CWRU. All metal benches, but what the heck.

The wind was blustering though. It had to be steady at like 30 mph, and cold. It played hell with the kicks and passes.

Trinity was leading most of the game, but I swear those boys from Texas could not take the cold for a whole game, as 4th quarter lapses on both offense and defense allowed CWRU come away with a 21-17 win.

Here is an aerial view. The stands are part of a parking deck behind, but the field is otherwise surrounded by dorms that seem fairly new and nice.

The football field on the upper right is called the Alamo Bowl (distinguish from the Alamodome) and is a high school football stadium. Though, honestly, I am not sure why it could not also serve as the Univ's field as well. Someone probably gave money to build the school its own, separate stadium.

  • Thanks for the advice. Any recs for a good bar/restaurant around the stadium to catch the morning games?

    Right. East. Oi.

My alma mater kicks ass! 🙂

The CWRU stadium is a lot different than it was in my days there. We had metal benches... on the ground... not as part of some building.

One thing we did have though was a patch of that new fangled "Astroturf". We were the Browns in season practice facility once-upon-a-time. They installed it to primarily get used to kicking off of it.

selby2.jpg we have a nice one here at OWU. High schools started playing regionals here since light installation couple years past

Browns Stadium runs east/west. I just got that wrong. CWRU does run north/south.

The CWRU field was very nice. PAT I believe.
