Being a new browns fan, I have next to no loyalty to Cribbs - although I know the history and appreciate what he's done - so I just read this and think 'douchebag'

He says he was "misquoted" but then never says what he really said. Going to be hard to back pedal out of that one.
Then he gets on twitter and complains that the Cleveland fans are pissed.

Coming from a guy who was the cancer of this team, giving up, and not showing up to practice or meetings on time. Doesn't surprise me at all. Josh thought he owned Cleveland, but really he was the problem a Vet with no class and no backbone. Teaching young players how to NOT be a professional and show up to work. I find this hiliarious.

Actually, I'm going with Cribbs.
Derek Anderson quit. Robieski quit before he got to regular season. A big div game,
and stupid Derek Anderson was laughing on the sidelines after throwing interceptions. Note the plural there.
Richardson looked like he quit a few times. I'm sure Cribbs wasn't talking about this current Browns team, as much
as he was talking about previous years, when it looked like the coaching staff even quit.

Josh Cribbs is a legend in his own mind and always has been. He had some good years with us as a returner but I feel like he quit right after he got his big contract. His comments were classless. He reminds me of another entitled Cleveland player who used to be very fast, steal many bases, then he lost a step and became a clubhouse cancer and mouthy asshole.

Cribbs was a good kickoff returner before the rule change. As he aged he got slower. He was never a good receiver. He was an average player at best. Mocking Cleveland does him a disservice from all the years he played here, as well as his teammates. You never should put down your teammates in public like he did.

Cal said it above. Look back over the years at how many games the browns lost by a score or two, plus bad players and bad coaches. I'm sure there were/are plenty of current or past browns who felt the team quit in one way or another.

Let's go glass half full. Maybe, just maybe, Cribbs was trying to call out the Browns, give them some inspiration, something for Chud to pin on the wall of the locker room. Maybe he loves the Browns so much that he's prepared to be hated by the fan-base and organisation, just so that they can become a winning team.
Of course, that would require him being smart enough to think like that.
