We need a higher draft pick than that. I'm not embarrassed to admit I'm NOT looking for 8-8 on the outside looking in.

We'll know if we're a middle of the pack mediocre team, or headed for another season of suckdom after this weekend. Play to win, let the draft picks fall where they may.

And as Shep has stated elsewhere, I don't think playing to win (I think we'll go 7-9, but 8-8 is possible) and doing well in the draft are mutually exclusive. We have enough resources in draft picks and salary cap space to fill all the wholes the team has. I think we can bolster WR, CB, and possibly RB through free agency (have a look at the free agent crop for 2014 here: http://www.footballsfuture.com/freeagents.html). That means we could trade a few picks to move up in the first round and get the best QB we can, and still be able to draft for other needs like OL, a second TE, and more depth at MLB.

I think we finally have a good front office: T-Rich trade was brilliant, Gordon is still here, Hoyer vindicated Lombardi, Mingo is a stud. They aren't perfect, but I'm looking forward to seeing an improved team for the rest of this year, some competent off-season moves and good drafting. Cleveland's finally going to have a winner next year.

  • I hope the young talent and guys brought in by the new staff continue to get better and stay healthy. This team is definitely on the rise and imagine what the team can do if they draft and sign the right people next year while continuing to build on what we have ( Great D "only missing true #2 CB", Top 5 WR "Gordon", Top 5 TE "Cameron", Hoyer "surprisingly better than what most believed", insanely fast & explosiive PR man in Benjamin, Insanely deep on the D-line, I believe a future stud in Armonty Bryant.... My list could continue to go on and on. Every season some team comes from no-where to clinch a division or get in the playoffs, the Browns are right on the cusp of being that team. Did I mention the Browns have "by far" the most Cap Space available to sign free agents this off-season coming in #1 with $25mil, next closest is the Jags with $19mil

Whats not to like? Cleveland is on the rise and could be a scary team for years to come with all the youth. If this draft is as deep as many people believe, we are that surprise team next year! Get ready NFL the Dawg Pound is Back!

  • I'd like to see what fozzy can do in the backfield...Really wished we got to see dion this year.

  • Clowney, Miller, Hyde. That's what I want from next years draft. Probably not gonna happen but that's what i'd be shootin for.

  • I just remembered how conservative Gibson is. At FS, this guy needs to start playing a bit more instinctively.

Sure he has 2 tip drill interceptions I think, but I've seen many replays where he could have been in position to make a play

His name is Gipson.....get it right!!!

  • We need a fullback, we need guardplay. I sound like a broken record but that's what we're missing. We have the weapons for a passing game and that is coming along, but we need to establish balance and get a running game going. That opens up things in the passing game and allows us to win the possession battle, which is truly the most important thing in today's football league.

Just because we have a good defense doesn't mean we want them on the field for 35-40 minutes of a game.

  • Obviously we need a young QB.

Luvey, Mack and Ward are free agents ... Three starting positions to be addressed.

Wide Receiver is big need, Little needs replaced.

We need a second pass-catching tight end

We need an upgrade at ILB over Robertson

Need help at both cb and safety depth.

  • Need a bruising RB too.

Lewis and Fizzy may fill the other two Rb roles.

We can franchise one of them- and Mack would be my bet as he's most likely to leave. Sort of nice to have that problem for a change.

CLE would have to give an arm and a leg for Clowney! Definitely not worth it. CLE needs to focus on offense this draft, with a QB first and foremost, then a RB and an O-lineman.

Ya, it's nice not franchising a kicker.

Ward is the guy I dont want to lose. I like Mack, but I've heard he doesn't fit the style of this admin. They could move Greco to center and draft a guard.

A lot to be determined on how we play the next eight weeks.

Hell yes. Never play to lose for a fricking draft pick.
