Imagine how good he would be if he had a real QB throwing the ball and a running game!
  • Comparing how a QB affects a WR corps with the reverse? It's 10 to 1. Randy Moss, Larry Fitz... some truly great receivers have found out what happens to their numbers with shit QB play. But bring in a great quarterback and suddenly you know who Jacob Tamme is.

That said, Greg Little is becoming absurd. It's a shame, but he's the ideal #2 WR, a bully with great YAC potential, a Boldin with a 42" vert, but he can't seem to get open OR catch the football. And those are kind of important things.

I'd like to know what vets are out there, too. We have our #1. Sammy Watkins will be drafted high by a team looking for THEIR #1. We don't need to go all Matt Millen on it because the receivers don't make the QB. We need a good #2 WR and I wouldn't hate another TE.

I'd love to see us add a #2 WR and another quality TE. Barnidge has cost us more yards in penalties than he has gained all season long... (that might not be true) You get the point tho...

  • how many picks do you think we have?

it might take our first pick plus another to land 'our golden boy' QB. sure i'd love to add another WR and TE

    AFTER

    we pick a #2 CB, a LB, a RT, a RG, a RB...............

  • Cameron was a beast with Hoyer. WE need a QB (Hoyer may be it) RT, RG, RB, LB and a CB in that order imo

  • Don't you have a bleacher report article to write?

  • He's fucking awesome.

Now add a quarterback, a running back, and ... Oh, I Dont know ... How about a second wide receiver?

The other 31 teams have one.

Don't forget the O-line... and your towel.

Tight end? CLE has way bigger priorities. There's a reason PIT got 5 sacks yesterday. Fix the right hand side and find a WR2 to stash behind it.

    Is that really surprising?

It was a blowout, and it was freezing. I don't blame people for leaving. I fell asleep on my couch shortly after halftime...

  • Mad props to Gordon for being the player many fans didn't think he could be.

I loved to see how passionate he was in the background when Weeden made a dumb pass. Can't wait to have our true QB, whether it be Hoyer or a first.

    Almost at the 1,000 mark.

Sounds about right. But we need the right choices also. I have no faith in the Browns to make them unfortunately.

  • What's crazy is Gordon is currently 5th in the NFL in receiving yards for the season (988). Antonio Brown is second (1044) and Megatron is leading the league (1198).

It's not unreasonable to think that Gordon could easily be in second had he not had the two game suspension. In YPG, he's third behind Megatron and Julio Jones by 10 and 6.2 YPG. Gordon is in some pretty damn good company to be among the league leaders at this point.

The most remarkable point here is that Gordon has had 3 different QB's throwing to him this year. I hate to bring the Cleveland motto out, but I can't wait until next year when he, hopefully, has one at least above-average QB throwing to him all year. I'm excited to see how well he continues to play as long as he can keep his personal life in check.

Currently we have ten picks. In addition to that, we have more cap room (right now) than anybody else. Some players will be extended and some will be deleted. Someone in the national media recently wrote that this brass has put the Browns in excellent cap shape to continue building the team.

In other words, we'll likely sign three or four "high end" free agents, guys expected to start or play a significant role. We'll continue to have problems attracting serious receiving talent because of our unsettled QB situation, but I don't think the same is true on the OL or anywhere on defense. I personally would try to add a guard, a corner with size, and another ILB in free agency, all at a fairly high level. IF we could convince a young veteran WR or TE that we really are drafting a QB in the top 10, that'd be awesome.

Point is, we're likely to go into the draft with WAY more picks than needs (as far as starters/contributors, not practice squad and depth guys picked in 5, 6, 7, and UDFA). I think most GMs agree you draft running backs and get their best four years before replacing them like spark plugs. Those same GMs would recommend drafting your long-term starter at QB.

I think those are the two givens. WR is close, but it depends on free agency. We could use a grownup.

  • And nobody anywhere would be looking to bench Buster Skrine. That's INSANE.

  • He is leading both of my teams to the Fantasy Football playoffs. Cal needs 89 points from Frank Gore to catch me tonight.

    Zombo

  • Agree, Couch. And the older he gets, the more the risk goes down. Kids do grow up. Thank God (!).

I didn't see any problem with our line early in the game. They were protecting well AND we were running well. Once again, Obie averaged over 5 YPC. He just fumbles too much.

Honestly, our line isn't a big problem at all. Next year, Pinkston is healthy, Chris Faulk is healthy, and Gilkey's a year older, in addition to Lauvao. That's a lot of guard competition. I won't be shocked if we look for a veteran for the line because we think we're ready to win now, not later.

Any line looks bad in front of Weeden.

  • Well, ask Campbell about the Oline. He is hurting pretty good right now.

The guy that hit him came through completely unblocked - there was nobody even looking at him. Does seem like suspect OL play...

That was on November 10th with 9 minutes to go in the 2nd quarter.
