  • Yep. All those high draft picks we have had the last 14 years have really helped us.

You think a 1st year head coach is setting roster and making draft picks over a guy who was a HC for 17 years, 2-super bowls, GM and a team President?

  • I think we are actively tanking in order to get a higher draft pick.

Why else would they go back to Weeden, then sign a relative nobody, then call an extremely conservative game against one of the leagues worst teams, then not pull Weeden after his dreary performance?

At least CLE may end up with a higher pick than JAC; JAC just needs 1 more win. Let Sink For Bridgewater begin!

  • If we tank and get the first pick...................you want Teddy?

like rich said. he made no decisions when it came to personnel. he was holmgren's long time friend's son who he gave the HC job to while he propped his fat legs up on his golf cart eating krispy kremes and chuggin down root beer.

i hate that prick. personally set us back 5 years.

but yes shurmur is a dope.

I don't have fat legs, and I don't really like krispy kremes, but I do love me some root beer.

I want that job, and that pay check

TC, I respect your opinions, but no NFL team deliberately tanks. You're playing for your job.

Conservative game plan? Because Norv knows Weeden is an interception waiting to happen?

  • My impression is I am glad this is my last game in person and as I think about the drive home, I question if I renew my season tickets.

Six trips up and one win. I enjoy the good times surrounding the game, but I can have a good time at home and save a great deal of money in the process.

Heck even if I lived near Cleveland I wouldn't buy season tickets at this point. Go to a game when the weather isn't crappy sure. But sit out in the freezing cold to watch a God awful preformance for a team out of playoff contention, or sit at home for 10x less money and a 12 pack of good beer? That decision is obvious to me.

Believe me, I feel for you 'Peen. I have one third of the driving you do to get to Cleveland, and I'm beginning to question my sanity making the investment every year to see yet another edition of crap football. I posted before the game I had a feeling Weeden would find some way to lose the game for us, and he didn't disappoint me. At least I have a bunch of relatives in town that are willing to brave the elements this time of year.

Its an unfortunate Catch 22. If enough of you season ticket holders "do the right thing" to protest the ineptness this team has shown the last umpteen years by refusing to renew your season tickets as a means of sending a message to the powers that be that you will no longer put up with this horseshit, then the whole fanbase will be accused of being fairweather fans....and stupid stuff will come up like assholes saying "Cleveland shouldn't have a team, blah, blah, blah". Of course, these would probably be the Steeler fuckfaces or some dipshit from NYC or Boston whose teams always seem to win.

But, of course, 2 years in the shithole in a town like Pissburgh and the natives flock away from their team like a wildebeest herd being stalked by a lion.

I feel for all of you who have season tickets and spend an ungodly amount of money going to the game 8 Sundays a year and see a shitty team in the process. I get to justify my one trip to Cleveland as a reason to spend time with family and friends and the game, while important isn't the end of the world if we lose. I spend money on the Sunday Ticket every year to watch all the Browns games as well but I can easily justify that as great as it is to be able to sit in my own house and watch the Browns, I also get my choice of every other game that I want to watch. After the Browns shit the bed yesterday, watching the end of the Vikings/Bears game was awesome and that doesn't happen without having sunday ticket. It also helps having a wife who loves watching football.

Not sure what I would do or how I would feel if I lived in or around Cleveland.

I'm happy that I have a week off from watching the Browns this week which means they most likely will shock the world and upset the Patriots.

I have posted the original Shurmur in this thread as I do after every bad loss. It is a joke that only non-Browns fans get, even though I am a Browns fan. Since 1999 all we as fans do is watch the crap year after year and when it doesn't work we blame the coaching staff or starting QB. While Weeds and Chud certainly play a role in the loss the bigger problem is this franchise is a joke. The Cleveland Browns are a punchline in every sense of the word. Joe Haden this mythical god of a player has looked like crap in 3 games this year and would've been 4 if Megatron wasn't limping. Joe Thomas the immovable object has more penalties against him this year then in any other year. DQ Jackson couldn't cover the Fridge in open space. TJ Ward covers a bit better than Jackson and the bright spot in the franchise is a bong hit away from a year long suspension. So yeah this is all Pat Shurmur's fault.

The answer is don't show, don't buy jerseys and if you must go let your voice be heard with some loud booos

I'm a season ticket holder too. The last few posts on this thread are interesting to me.

I live in Berea, it's only 15-20 minutes to drive down & tailgate in the flats. That has been the highlight of Sundays since 2007, as we can't seem to establish any kind of home field advantage.

People can spend their money as they see fit-I get that. A problem now is with our crappy seasons piling up, fans are selling their tickets (especially late in the season), and once again, The Steelers game was invaded by Steeler fans. It sucks real bad having ushers coming over to my seats, telling me to sit down/calm down because these outsider fans can't see. Its BS, but it is what it is. 2 months ago, the place was a frenzy after the Buffalo win, it reminded me of 2007.

I'll ante up again for 2014, as painful as its been. Go Browns

  • The sky is not falling. This team needs 3 things to be a 10+ win team. QB, O-line help and a back. And it doesn't need to a manning super star. If Hoyer was in this would be a different season. Let's not panic and say the sky is falling. Next year Browns will be much much improved.

Hey Broken Record is that you? We've been a QB, O-Line and RB away from a 10 win season since 99. Heck, there are about 10 teams that if given the Broncos line, Peyton Manning and Adrian Peterson would win 10 games.

in any type of biz shit rolls downhill (plumbing ref.). you hold the number one guy responsible for every one else's actions. the lerner jr. period was a joke. he knew nothing about the game and bit at the first chance to hire someone under him who had super bowl credentials. well when he finally understood that he had made a mistake he couldn't get out of town fast enough.

what i've seen of haslam, he seems like a no-nonsense guy. i really do hope he is chewing ass about the product his team of underlings has put out to sell to the much deserving fans of the browns. i'm all about giving people a chance and it's clear it takes 5 years to put together a unit of your own that has your stamp on it. but rarely nowadays to these guys get a chance and last 5 years if things don't turn around by the third year (ask mangini). this draft will be a big deal to me and will show what lombardi and banner can or can't do.

i guess in another lifetime i was born in MO, cuz you better show me somethin.

i know it's important for people to go to the games to support the team financially, but man you gotta be diehard to drive 11 hours 8 times a years spend all the money on accommodations, food and drink. i'd be like mark and just go to the tailgate blowout and spend the rest of my sundays at a local browns backers joint or relax in your recliner with a tv tray full of red stuff. but i've never been a stadium guy. something about watching a game on high def that makes all that bullshit at the stadium seem nonsensical.

Lol...I'm just the opposite. Watching it on tv makes me stupid, like the guy on the beer commercial yelling at the tv. When I'm at the game, I see the play develop and I'm calmer (unless surrounded by Steeler fans).

I'm exactly the opposite. At the stadium, I yell and scream and cheer and act like a fool. At home though watching the game, I rarely say much of anything, positive or negative. I never get mad watching the game at home. Could have something to do with having young kids in the house and not wanting to act like a ranting lunatic in front of them.
