  • Very impartial article. Sarcasm aside, I'm surprised this thread hasn't ignited another argument. People generally have a lot to say on illegal immigration and the death penalty.

The penalty for killing a policeman is the death penalty. The fact that he's in the country illegally shouldn't excuse him from that, it only compounds the case against him.

    Also:

In 2008, the U.S Supreme Court ruled that the states are not compelled to comply with decisions made by the U.N.’s International Criminal Court.

I know the ICJ doesn't have overall jurisdiction, but this just made me laugh.

There's no death penalty in the UK, or any other Western nation besides the US, so what do you think of the Capital Punishment Capital of the World?

  • I disagree with it, but that's the law, he's got to be fully aware of it - everyone is. He knew the consequences and did what he did. No sympathy.

Your point is well taken. We have more police officers then we need no problem. Come to think of it I'll bet prison itself is cruel and unusual.

I guess if we give the illegals more free stuff maybe they won't feel the need to kill our citizens. Good eye koala.

Can't tell if the sarcasm recognizes my sarcasm, or if the sarcasm is sarcastically assuming a lack of sarcasm.

  • I am pro- death penalty. However, I am not in favor of letting them hang out for decades. The death penalty is not a deterrent if the criminal believes it will be decades before they get an injection. Hurry along the process and make it public. Doing things that could end in the death penalty should be scary.

they don't kill 'em like they used to...

  • I would take the injection all day over being drawn and quartered haha.

  • At least the death penalty is the one sure way to prevent recidivism.

    😉

Is the death penalty still the sentence for suicide attempts? Always enjoyed the irony in that.

I don't recall that it ever was. Maybe...

  • Death penalty for suicide attempts? You get a free ride to a psychiatric ward, but no criminal charges unless you mean a murder/suicide.

  • John Kerry can go fuck himself.

I worked juvenile corrections for almost a decade. I think drawing and quartering someone on TV would definitely cut down on frequent fliers.

My thoughts exactly. Couldn't make it through the first Hunger Games movie. My wife loves the books/movies. I kept giving her shit about how it was just a Disney version of Battle Royale.
