Coach Chud Fired

The Browns Board

  • All joking aside, I don't think there is a single Browns fan that can honestly say that they went to bed last night remotely thinking this could happen. While I think Chud needs a lot of work on his game day decisions, I like the man. He is a life long Browns fan and did the best he could with the roster he was given. I hope he lands on his feet, and have nothing but well wishes for him.

  • It's really hard to swallow that the browns don't have a good organization and it's well past coaches and front office.

No team has been as shitty as ours for past 14 years

  • I liked the chud hire. someone has to eat it and its not going to be lombardi or banner.

  • I don't remember Chud being the 5th pick. I remember Kelly and doug morrone.

Banner and jimmy told us "he was our guy." "We are going to be patient and build for the long haul." One year? They know better than release Lombardi to the Cleveland media. Whether Chud is fired or not they owe us a fucking explanation on what they saw in chud and why they hired him in the first place. We were told it was a collective decision. Well collectively they were apparently all friggin wrong.

I think they settled on him, surrounded him with NFL experienced coordinators and were willing to see if it would work. It did not and now they will fix that.

  • We would look like fools firing our coach after a year. Already Lombardi or someone, has put the word out that if chud is fired, its a Haslam decision, and not the management team. That's not a good message. Crud deserves a second year. It's kind of ridiculous that this coach is getting fired circus has already been put out there, and can't be taken back now by not firing him tonight or tomorrow.

  • Chud was a good hire in my eyes.

No bs guy, has been in cle before (the only time we were "good")

Sucks he had Weedon and Campbell

It's quite obvious there is more to the story about what happened between him and the office and with his players.

Everyone is peeling out of this parking lot...players...coaches...burning rubber. No signs of Chud though #Browns

    AJ Ross ‏@ajross_WKYC 31m

“@kappi27: @ajross_WKYC Did they leave Chud in Pittsburgh?” Good question...

We can see Coach Chud's car still parked in the front parking lot here in Berea. Most of the #Browns players have already left the facility.

Makes me wonder if Chud is being escorted by Haslem/Banner/Lombardi ?

I heard that Chud was to meet with Banner and Co in the AM...but Chud requested the meeting tonite

  • Is it a coincidence that the Browns are firing Chud and Ne has a 1st round bye ? Now they can talk to McDaniel during NE bye week

  • Chud just wants to know one way or the other. I know I do.

I had my rant a few days ago when I started the blow the whole damn thing up, so I guess we could say I was expecting or hoping for it.

Hoping? OK. But honestly thinking that is was even the slightest of possibilities that the Browns would fire Chud after one season is totally different.

  • didn't like the chud hire. didn't like the banner and lombardi hires.

like that chud was a browns fan but what he put on the field was garbage. the FO did him no favors.

we are not going to be any good until we get seriously talented scouts/talent evaluators. they should go first and maybe rethink everything else.

if haslam wants them gone fine. it just shows me he will not be happy until we see a winning record, 4 weeks or sixteen weeks in.

too bad our coaching staff and our team leaders don't show enough emotion.

see phillip rivers after the game he played vs. KC? see rodgers? now those guys are leaders.

wonder what rivers has to say about turner now?

  • Even though N.E. has a bye, I'm still pretty sure they would have to wait until N. E.'s offseason starts to talk to McD...... either way, I hope he stays away from CLE.

  • far, far away

Settled? They didn't wait very long. wasnt he the third coach hired?

    1.andy fired and rehired quickly

    2.bruce

    3.chud

I'm not buying this settled BS.

Not when they hired him that fast.

Yeah, I saw that floating around too.

    Also this :

    AJ Ross ‏@ajross_WKYC 3m

Coach Chud's car now only 1 left out of a handful here in Berea. Not sure if he's still in the facility or slipped by in a diff car #Browns

  • why would we be interested in Mcdaniels? Seriously, what does he bring?

I think assistants can talk ONLY during a bye week in the playoffs

Well Rivers is also a better QB than any QB we have had since Kosar, so, lets be real, we will be doing the samething next year with a new coach if we dont fix the QB situation. And the only way to do that is to draft one and usually the only way to draft one is to draft high enough. So while it sucked losing all these games the upside is maybe, just maybe we can find the guy this go around.

Honestly, I saw absolutely no reason whatsoever to keep him. I want immediate results and 4 wins does not cut it. Two 1st year coaches are in the playoffs, another 1st year coach had 10 wins but did not get in. Another had 8 wins. So I don't want to hear anybody support they need to stick with Chud. He does not have what it takes.
