When is a hc supposed to cut players on cue?

best SNL skit ever would be having a fat guy actor (like george wendt) playing the part of mike holmgren scooting up the sidelines in a golf cart during the start of training camp with their ketel one slushies in their hands asking how everything is going with the little skittle doughnut toppings caught in his moustaches.......then all of a sudden a bright orange suited super hero comes flying in from the sidelines and knocks over the cart and spills their spiked orange julious over their fat knarly faces and they all choke on their egos.
is it a bird? is it a plane?
NO!
it's capt. truckstop man!
if you've ever driven a truck through the alleghenies at 3:30 in the AM (uh hem) on the last gasp of diesel looking for someone with 2 teeth to help you out with gas and beef jerkey then you'd should shut your trap about Jimmy Haslam.
god knows he employs more skeeters from skeeterville than your mom has black men rollin up on your trailer at 2 in the morn standing in line down your double-wide hallway.
may your soul rest in peace one day you filthy fornicator!

Jimmy so far has shown he is willing to do whatever HE thinks he needs to do to make the team better. He's aggressive and hates to lose as much as most of us do. He throws his hands at the field in disgust and even leaves shitty games early........All the stuff I do. I for one will take a hands on, aggressive owner all day, that doesn't give a shit what people think.
As for his legal problems, it sounds like they are doing everything they're supposed to do to make amends for their mistakes.

Wether it was Haslam or Dumb-tardi telling him to cut players- you let your HC make the decisions. Welcome to Snyderville- how's that working out in Washington?
Yes Jimmy- the rest of the NFL is laughing behind your back.

They didn't make the decision. They allowed Chud to stick with his decision. Just as they allowed him to keep playing Bess and keep Cooper bottled up. Like they allowed him to not give Rainey any real looks....Tampa did and it paid off big for them.

ESPN article said Haslam has settled the investigation with the FBI, so........take it to the barbershop.

hey rookie. the barbershop is a different section of this forum that deals with things outside of football, like politics and people wanting to kill little kids with ak47s. so you want to talk about FBI investigations........take it there you commie fuck.

we dont have the hyper ego type players that warrant a reaction Haslem and co. wanted out of Chud..... (think Gruden / Keyshawn)
even Modell had more smarts

well fair i want that type of coach. i don't care if the players are meek and mild, if they fuck up you let them know about it. and if the players get in your face you sit them down. =cowher. =jimmy johnson. =bill parcells.
fuck these pussies we've had in here for the last decade and 1/2. if they can't play or fuck up you let the world see it. betcha they try as hell not to do the same thing again and all of a sudden you're labeled a scrub.

What I don't understand is if Chud got fired for not cutting Weeds and/or Little why have they not been cut now that he is gone? Or is this part of the interview process for the new coach? Your first test as our new head coach is can you cut Weeds and/or Little!

I find it hard to believe that we "missed the boat" on Rainey. Tampa had three different backs with 100 yard games this season, one back a 6th round pick and the other a UDFA. It's more likely that they have a great offensive line, which they do, and they have a runningback-friendly system, which they also do.
I'm also on the fence about the Bess situation. This is a guy that the FO traded for in the draft, claiming he's a guy they really wanted, then they want him benched halfway through the season. It seems like this FO is quick to realize their mistakes, which can be a good thing. But it also seems like they pull the trigger at the first sign of trouble, which can be a very bad thing.
I still believe Little can be a serviceable player in the right situation, even though he was statistically the worst WR this year. A guy his size, with his athleticism and experience at RB, can be hell on inside end arounds and short screens. That should be a guaranteed 5 yards every time.

from everything I have read, the Browns were interviewing McDaniels on Saturday. Which was the 4th. Are the Browns going to get in trouble for interviewing him 1 day early?

That would be a great start huh?

Great point. You figure they would be gone by now if they are willing to spend 10 mil go let go of a first year head coach because he wouldn't drop them.

We'll never know how much of that was on Chud, and how much of it was on Lombardi. Yeah, Rainey may have been a mistake- but he wasn't doing any better than what we had- look it up.
And it is a good point- if the FO wanted Little and Weeden gone, why are they still on the team? -
This all makes no sense. It would be up to Chud to Bench them ... to CUT them in the middle of the season involves contract and cap ramifications ... the front office would handle that end.
The original article I saw was that FO wanted Chud to cut Little and Luvey to send a message. I would think the correct story is they wanted him to BENCH them.

Sounds correct to me. The coach can bench players, but the FO is who cuts players. They did it all season with our practice squad guys
-
Bench them for who?
-
wouldn't Norv have some say who gets benched also?
