  • Damn, this was the only QB I was high on. Although I'm now really stoked for UCLA football next year.

Yea it does. If he stays healthy he is just going to get better, and better. I don't think he is "NFL ready" right now (2014 opening day starter) but I think he has the biggest upside of any of the over rated QBs.

My fear now is that with one, or two (depending on who else stays) less QBs in this year's draft, that is going to drive up the market for the QB starved teams (like us) and now we are going to have to overpay for the next Tim Couch, while someone else who does their own homework and doesn't buy into all the pre-draft hype, will find the next Wilson, Kap or Foles in rounds 2-4.

  • Maybe the Browns should stay out of the QB rat race in the first round......get someone in like the third round....and hope he becomes the new Russell/Foles.

Hoyer could handle duties for a year hopefully...(yea, I know, he would probably get injured again). Go for Sammy Watkins or whoever in lieu of a QB.

Then next year's class with Winston/Mariota/Hundley etc. could garner the Browns a much better QB than this year's crop would.

It all depends if what you saw from Hoyer in 2 games (one of them against Minnesota who was horrible this year) is what you're going to get from him long term. Is he has good as Dalton or Alex Smith? Good enough to win a bunch of games but not a game changer like Luck, Kapernick, Rodgers or Brees who can take you to the next level. Or was it just 2 good games which plenty of bad QB's have had 2 good games.

All depends what the front office thinks about Hoyer being the starter going into the next season.
