Trouble is, an enterprising criminal will know which houses will have guns

in them? when somebody goes on vacation.

There have been incidents where obituaries led to home invasions....

They'll know where to go for guns, and/or where to go where guns aren't.

It's a disgrace to use that information for the wrong reasons.

Which, is one major reason why "registration" is so unacceptable an idea.

Fear mongering propaganda as is the usual on both sides when you talk about guns. If you're so worried somebody is going to burglarize your precious gun you'd lock it on a gun safe and get a security system and have a contact put on your gun safe. Statistically security systems are much better at preventing burglaries than guns because most burglaries occur when the home owner is not there. If you're not there a gun is utterly fucking useless.

Obviously, but some crooks have broken into cheaper gun safes. But like the game warden told me,

it's better to video a poacher, and let him handle it, it's bad enough they find out where he lives,

but they KNOW where the landowner lives.

That's where you booby trap your property with claymore mines and trip wires.

Wait wait wait... a list of gun owners will make those gun owners houses more likely to be robbed when they are away? Cuz the robbers want the gun? Why, are you just leaving it out on the counter or something?

Well guys, they still had their guns so how were they any safer or less safe? Theoretically printing that you were a concealed carry permit holder would make you less of a target for robbery unless guns, indeed, don't actually make you safer.

How about you focus not on robbery and more on the fact that any woman with a CCW who got it because of a restraining order now has their address just floating around as public knowledge? It is a privacy issue that some shit heads decided wasn't important to them. The newspaper editors and writers got irate when their personal information went public after people went fishing for it.

My feeling as well. I live in pillbilly hell (all of WV). A good gun safe is a must because you don't know when your stuff is going to wander off to a pawn shop.

So it is o.k. for the newspaper to make it easy for psychotic ex husbands? They may have been writers for the Ike Turner Dispatch.

A restraining order is just a piece of paper and if the husband is a psycho stalker he's going to go looking for the address online and find it and it will be because he went looking for it not because lurked around waiting for a newspaper to print it. I thought you liked logic

So what? They've got a gun right?

If guns could save you from a planned ambush, every U.S. soldier would be alive. However, I am sure you would be hard pressed to talk them out of carrying guns because it didn't help them in every possible situation. I would also say that they would not understand a helmethead who suggests posting their patrol routes in the Taliban Times is no big deal because they are carrying rifles.

Posting the addresses of gun owners is a very, very serious problem.

Not only can they break into some safes (not Liberty ones), but they

can steal smaller safes, and can force a home owner to open

                                      a bigger gun safe.

Since they have been handed the info by anti gun newspapers.

No shit? I've said as much many times. Most of the time I am just doing it for the hell of it. To play devils advocate. But really that information is there for the taking so you're just feigning outrage over something that's not very well hidden being printed. If you were thinking logically you'd know that anyone that wanted that information and has a computer can get it.
